There are so many altcoin also that will give a high profit in long term like waves eth etc that's why there are so many people interested investing into it. It will give more % of profit sometimes than trading BTC to USD.

But with the oppotunity always have the risk when invest to altcoin and want a huge profit from it. Example: Ripple, Stellar, Digibyte, Siacoin ... are altcoin had pumped 500%-5000% and breakdown in June until today, if you invested when reach highest price, you will know that feeling Tongue

People buy alts hoping they will gain value someday and be worth a fortune. This is not guaranteed, and most times it is a waste of time and resources. Some alts trade higher within a short space of time, after being pumped incessantly. If you are on the right side of a pump and dump, you profit. But if you are unlucky enough to be at he wrong end, you lose. Personally ill stick with the known alts and bitcoin.

Some altcoins are trying to solve real world problems or make industries more available/affordable for people. It could be like investing in a strong tech company in the early 90s if you find a good team.

Yes, they are worthy, as long as people use them. Using only Bitcoin is only for people who don't want to trade and Altcoins will probably the future's currency, everyone will use them (maybe).

I get that this is a shitposter magnet thread, but I like the topic nevertheless. Some altcoins are just so much easier to use than bitcoin, like doge and Dash and some others. Plus if you look at how far something like Dash has grown in the past few months, it sort of makes sense, doesn't it? You could have made 40X or more of your original investment had you bought while it was $4. So people want to profit from this stuff, just like bitcoin.

If only merchants accepted other coins, we'd be all set. That's a huge stumbling block for crypto. I'd so much rather pay for something using doge than bitcoin. Quicker confirmations, lower fees, etc. But I still love BTC.

Indeed. I'm buying altcoins because of its price versus bitcoin.
Compare to bitcoin I can easily invest to potential altcoins and over time I can have a good profit to it.
Like maximize profit yet minimum capital but should be extra careful of choosing altcoins.

They are a lot cheaper to buy, comparing to Bitcoin, thus making them more approachable and easier to obtain as a whole coin. For instance, $100 could get you several Stratis coins, something that doesn't happen in Bitcoin.
Moreover, many Altcoin users are hoping for a big pump in price, just like with Ethereum.

People buy altcoin because altcoins gives more profit lot of Altcoins are very low rate in satoshi and there are maximum chances to make a grest pump some time altcoin make a double or more and profit also double or more but but coin price make ups and down but not like altcoins like make double or more in short time etc.
I think thats way people buy altcoin to increase position in btc.

What do you say for guys from MONERO club? They were not interested only in capital, they had a wonderful idea and market proves they been right. And i'm sure this is not the end of rise, and who knows where are the limits. Main majority of coins are here only for one reason, to free you from you BTCs and this why all altcoins are on bad voice.
I believe this will be changed over time, and people will learn to recognize value.
