Phil please let us know when they take your btc.
When they ship.
When you get it.

Hello! Friends, I promised to give the exact details. Today I paid for July 25. Let's see when they accept the money. Let's see when they ship the goods. All in real time) I do not understand why the goods are not on ebay and it's expensive for 300 dollars, and canaan will promise the goods in availability and transport for 5 days) If they give the goods 10-15 days I will buy 10 pieces.   I can not load a picture with TICKET  paid. How to do it ?

I wasn't sure of the whole process and that's why I only did the one.
I also read here if you order more than 2 you might have to pay customs or taxes which would suck to the already high price of it.
Will have to look into getting 3 more later on, hope price drops a little since everyone keeps saying they will release something new soon.
RE: Customs Duty and broker fees. In the USA those kick in once the total value of the shipment is $2,500 or more.
Below that there should be no additional fees to be paid although once in a while FedEx will still charge a brokerage fee of around $40 - no idea why.

depends on the write up.  some write aluminum and not pc  and boom taxes.

I gave up hoping that they bill me for this.  as coin has dropped from 2830 to 2450

that is 15% loss if they bill me today.  So I guess i will get another 1080 ti.

oh well.

At least 1080ti's  compete and allow me a choice.

So no  bitmain S-9
No      avalon 741
just more 1080 ti's

Same here, taking a while to respond to me as well.
They use to be same day.
I can't complain too much though, better than dealing with bitmain overall.

well it is sad that they can't simply send me a bill for the gear.

I ordered 3 1080 ti's today and they will be here by tomorrow .  I will be mining with them  no later then thurs.

I wanted to order more btc gear not more gpus.

But I can keep waiting for the bill to be sent.

Oh well.

I placed my order July 18, made a direct bank payment for a total of $904.09

741 miner  $714
Controller   $60
Shipping    $130.09   <--Ouch!

I am in New York so I guess it has to travel FAR...

Today I received an email stating payment received my order should ship out tomorrow.
Looks like payment takes a week to clear no matter how you pay.
Hope it gets here quick with that shipping cost.

I'm in the same boat as you.  I also place my order for last week on Tuesday via wire and they only confirmed today they received funds.  I'm not sure if BoA held my transfer a couple days or if they're only checking their account every so often.  But I did post a message to them to let them know the transfer was made last week on Wednesday and they replied back quickly.  I inquired again on Friday (China time) to see if they got payment before the weekend and they replied back pretty quickly that they were still waiting.  I asked again yesterday and no response all day then this morning they sent me a message and said they got my payment, but I'm still waiting to get a tracking number from them so I can notify my hosting company.

I also saw the shipping from them was quite high, but it seems ordering in '3's is the magic number for shipping.

Yesterday paid for 741 with bank wire. Will see how long will it take to ship.

Not easy for me to do.

So I want to pay with BTC

put the order in at 2834 btc price

coins dropped to 2550 now.

So if they bill me we all know they will base it on the 2550 price.

order was  about 835 usd

so 0.29463  vs .32745

and accord to the website  it was in stock and shipping on thurs when I ordered.

today is tues  so say a 4 day shipping delay  that is about .01

 so far the delay is a cost of  .0428 btc

my hope is coins rally back  and they delay the btc bill longer Grin

Ja. That is their 1 unresolved sticky point - timely communications.

All I can say is that it is best to log into the Canaan site and only use Canaan's Ticket system for all correspondence. Email seems to be more of a 'something new' status update of the Ticket system. To me it seems that directly replying to the emails is often delayed and more of a someone seeing the email reply and then eventually manually putting it into the Ticket system.

I just noticed that we can probably expect a new AvalonMiner model, AvalonMiner 761 sooner or later.
There is already code for it in Canaan's cgminer github https://github.com/Canaan-Creative/cgminer/blob/master/driver-avalon7.c

For example:
Code:
*snip*

struct avalon7_dev_description avalon7_dev_table[] = {
{
"711",
711,
4,
18,
AVA7_MM711_VIN_ADC_RATIO,
AVA7_MM711_VOUT_ADC_RATIO,
4981
},
{
"721",
721,
4,
18,
AVA7_MM721_VIN_ADC_RATIO,
AVA7_MM721_VOUT_ADC_RATIO,
4981
},
{
"741",
741,
4,
22,
AVA7_MM741_VIN_ADC_RATIO,
AVA7_MM741_VOUT_ADC_RATIO,
4825,
},
{
"761",
761,
4,
26,
AVA7_MM761_VIN_ADC_RATIO,
AVA7_MM761_VOUT_ADC_RATIO,
4825,
}
};

*snip*

edit:
AvalonMiner 761 support was added four days ago in June 7, 2017 according to this change log https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/compare/master...Canaan-Creative:master

I think ethereum is better then asic. ITS ONLY MY OPINION. You need that Finnish (EU) plug on Avalon. Example 1500 Mh/s you get that 100-150 dollars per/24h

I think  you did not write clearly  but Alt coins can be better then BTC

as to gpus  being better then asic's   sometimes they are.

Myself I think of all cryptocoins as a big buffet with lots of choice so I try lots of them Grin

One reason I like coins that use gpus to mine is I can order a gpu and get it in a day or 2.

 Here I am on this thread.
 Placed an order for 1 avalon 741  on thur the 20th  and they still have yet to send me a bill in btc to pay them.!!

This reason is why I have both gpus to mine alt coins and asic to mine btc  and I even have an asic to mine x-11.

Still waiting for that bill from canaan. Angry

That ^^ and the fact that stating

is comparing apples to oranges. Eth is a COIN and ASIC refers only to the chips used in BTC miners -- not the Bitcoin's themselves...

On Thurs Canaan did give me the choice of paying at the then-current BTC price (around $2500) with immediate shipment today or waiting until stock was confirmed and then being billed at today's price. Not knowing if BTC would go up or down, I choose the former. Yes, BTC did continue to rise after that but oh well, at least the miner is on its way.
