Friends, the news background on the crypto market has been very active lately, and in a rather positive way, but not every good news is true. How does this affect your investments and strategy on the market? How to protect against fakes?
There is nothing you can do about the media that are posting fake news, except ignoring them and doing what you believe is right. There will always be fake news, but always make sure you’re not relying on one source only. If you keep on relying on one source to get the news then you will make a huge mistake. Add other sources and know if they are saying the same thing.

How to protect against fakes?

Basically do your own research.

If some tell that Elon Musk buys Ethereum, see on his public statements about it. Search on twitter (but make sure you didn't find fake accunts with that name), search on blogs, search on reputable news agencies.
If somebody tells that certain bank or institution plans certain service, check that bank's pages, social media or even ask their support.
..Something like this.

Especially if you want to invest based on certain news, you have spend some time and effort to make sure everything is all right.

I agree. It is very important that we do our own research and not believe in anything we see or read on the internet right away. However, these days it is getting a bit harder and harder to determine authentic news from the fake ones. That said, a little self research do not hurt and often works.
I very much agree that many media are now ignorant, and you follow their footsteps and even let you go bankrupt. Independent learning and research are the best ways. It is hoped that blockchain technology can solve the authenticity of media information as soon as possible.

Without good knowledge, everyone can fall in fraud. To avoid scams, fraud we need to do own research using our knowledge. I am caught by fraud because when I didn't general knowledge. And I learned something from that session, so we should study to avoid fraud.

I guess you really have to double check and read between the lines. I agree that there are a lot of fakes news because writers doesn't do any validation, they will readily roll it out that sometimes you really doubt everything you read on crypto related websites. For me the best source is here in this community because if some fake news are released you can easily read it here and then there will be loads of debates and discussions. So you can weight whether to buy those news or not or be emotionally affected or you can just let it sit it out and do nothing.

How does this affect your investments and strategy on the market? How to protect against fakes?

Again due diligence is your weapons against this FUD around. And listen to the overall sentiments of the community and I'm sure that you can come up with your best decisions.

Indeed, many investors make news as a benchmark for selling and buying bitcoin or altcoin. They have the notion that news is one of the biggest factors that change price movements. As for recognizing and distinguishing the right news and false news that depends on each person, there is someone who receives a message every time they will ascertain the truth of the news and there are those who receive a message so they will decide to sell or buy without convincing the truth the news. Me myself to look for information about cryptocurrency I only focused on searching in cointelegraph, I guess cointelegraph is a neutral media and far from making fake news.

Protect yourself not acting by impulse. Never believe at first on any news you see, doesn't matter if it's on the television, on the radio or on the internet. Don't follow panicked people on their actions. If you really believe on what you are investing and see its potential, you won't fall for fakes or bad news during the hard times, you will be always one step ahead.

And if you make a choice based on news you see, be sure it's not an impulse you are going to regret later.

Regarding the news about the cryptocurency lately it seems difficult to guess which one is right or not I think only with self-confidence and smart predicting coins, which you have to invest in the exchange market.

Friends, the news background on the crypto market has been very active lately

after November 15th the news channels became very active and all the time they published news about the bitcoin war and the great dump that the market suffered, I kept thinking if those news that they published was not increasing the sale of panic. It's always good to keep up with the news.

How does this affect your investments and strategy on the market?

If you buy a coin and then you hear that the coin is going to have a hard fork or a bug, you already know that it will be time to sell or buy, this is to say that it is important to follow the news and it will depend on the person to analyze if the news is good or not and which strategy will use

What is important is to be careful of the source of the news in question and make sure you always do your own due diligence when it comes to verifying the news to be true. However, when it comes to news, I really do not always pay much attention as I feel the market has not matured enough to be responding to fundamentals, so in this case, I put more focus on the price action instead until further notice when it comes to long term investment.

If you want to avoid those fake news then just believe with your own prediction, because all news spreading out about bitcoin are all prediction but bitcoin drops this Month and that is not fake so we need to decide on our own now and not to rely on those fake news or prediction that has been no assurance.

Unfortunately, the crypto market is the weakest market in terms of news. But the market is overreacting to the statements of the major crypto investors and famous people. However, before making decisions when critical news appears, it is necessary to verify their authenticity, because many stakeholders are in our panic mood. If a person wants to buy a certain token or coin at a low cost, he will begin to publish bad news to reduce investor confidence and such a plan can help in his goals.

Just don't listen to the news because they are fucking bullshit. News are just information for the masses and this is not a good thing to follow. Always do your own research.

I think the best thing to do now if you are a trader is think the contrary of the many people there especially traders who are always listening to the news. Be a contrarian. If there is a bad news in Bitcoin, instead of selling, accumulate more Bitcoin for easy profits.

Crypto users have begun to be smarter to play news in creating short-term crypto price changes and this will make the crypto price fluctuate rapidly. the news will spread quickly and is difficult to stop and only we can sort out the news that benefits us or not with all the crypto knowledge we have

The right answer on that is having a good research before putting an investment, you can ride a risk if you do that will be your own. It must have a real author on that news and those trusted broadcasters only. But in investing crypto top of my priority is Bitcoin in long-term holding I didn't mind if what is the new bad or good as long as I believed on this kind of digital money to put my investment.

This news some are true but mostly its fake to raise an FUD and make the traders go panic and sell their assets. What you must do here is to dont trust the statements such wall street or bloomberg that the price may crash or whatever. Do your own research and decide for yourself.

What will determine the direction of our investment is our attitude. Every decision and behavior will always be different. The right strategy will determine whether we succeed or not. The current situation is indeed inconsistent and we face a very volatile market. My advice is try to wait until the situation stabilizes. Every risk is dangerous and we must try to avoid the worst risks.

do market research and filters on all news, because not all news is true, something is really done to shape public opinion and change crypto price levels. there are many news websites that you can follow and that you can make reference to in making investment decisions

Many times even media does not understand the deep meaning behind some sentence told by big investors or some country. Thus with the negative impression people sentiments change suddenly and they start getting panic easily and as a result sell off takes places which results in crash in the market.

For investing in bitcoin, I chose a long term investment, so I'm not very worried when I see some information or news coming. I admitted that when I have an investment in cryptocurrency and choose short-term investments especially this year, I am not so sure that I will have comfort in facing day after day. In other hand, each cryptocurrency price movement sometimes does not depend on an information, in fact when there is some good information coming and the market does not indicate a price increase.

In crypto, I would be extremely skeptical of basing your trading behavior on news of what other investors (whales) are doing.  Certainly it could be fake news to begin with, but trying to follow the herd and being a momentum player has failed many a trader.

At least in the stock market business news is pretty easy to verify the accuracy of.  With crypto news coming from sites that look like they value rumor just as much as real news, I'd be very uncomfortable using that kind of reporting as the basis of my trading strategy.

I don't hear much about contrarian investing around here.  Seems like everyone is trying to be momentum traders instead of following the "buy low/sell high" strategy.  Buying low sometimes entails buying coins that are unpopular at the moment, and my impression is that many crypto traders are extremely fearful of doing so--they're instead chasing what they think the next big thing is or buy what they think everyone else is buying.  It's no wonder so many crypto traders lose money.

Yes, I agree about not trusting media. Here is a perfect example:
https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/bitcoin-no-longer-boring-price-194000222.html

Goldman Sacks just released predictions of BTC dropping to 1.5k. The only reason they would do that is to buy BTC on the way down. Again, buying unpopular coins for profit. Warren Buffet said, "Be greedy when others are fearful and afraid when others are greedy". I think it was him at least.

Buying a coin now because it's unpopular is not enough. They will ultimately have to have an actual utility, either as a value transferor or some other utility (smart contracts, oracles etc).
