Against fake news you can do only one thing, check, recheck, recheck again. Don`t run to make some trades in some exchange just cause you saw some "news", whether they are good or bad, like to buy something and make very high profit, or to sell in panic. Don`t act right away, check that new information on several places, ask here on forum, post it on some social network and wait for some answers. One thing you need to always have in your mind is that Bitcoin is not a market that can easily be predicted, so if someone items telling that it is going to be at so and so price on a particular date, just know that they are a big liar cause that's not true. But, what just happened yesterday, even pulled the price down, is that investors acted quickly to recover the price as soon as they knew that the news was just a FUD. Uuhm, the news you see online really has nothing to do with where the price of cryptocurrency is heading to. Most of the times you will be seeing positive news everywhere, but the price will still be dropping. Same thing with the price analysis you will be seeing, they will predict upwards but the price will be going downwards. They can't really say where it is going, this is very risky, so you're just taking the risk on your own whenever you're investing, cause there's nobody to tell you where it is heading to exactly and that is how it is meant to be, only those that can have the patience will benefit from it.

Basically do your own research.
If some tell that Elon Musk buys Ethereum, see on his public statements about it. Search on twitter (but make sure you didn't find fake accunts with that name), search on blogs, search on reputable news agencies.
If somebody tells that certain bank or institution plans certain service, check that bank's pages, social media or even ask their support.
