I knew I recognized the name from somewhere!!

So the original name of the cereal is Booberry? This reminds me of the Finnish phrase "paskanmarjat" meaning basically "bullshit", but a more literal translation would be "pooberries".

I'm not mining anymore, but still hold some BBR. The long periods of silence with no releases makes me wonder what is cryptozoidberg collecting 1% of all blocks for? Not that it's a lot of money in terms of BTC, but is any work being done on the project to warrant 1% of all coins generated? I was never a fan of this donation/payment model, but I think especially lately it just looks like someone sweeping up loose change just for being (benevolent?) dictator for life.

I think this is a bit harsh.

BBR still works and is being supported. Whenever technical issues are highlighted, these are being looked into, investigated and resolved. 1% seems reasonable recompense for creating and supporting a coin IMO.

As for BBR developments, the coin is open source... 'Ask not what BBR can for you, but what you can do for BBR.' It's easy to bellyache about why others aren't volunteering their time to make enhancement upon enhancement, however anyone can make a pull request. CZ has made it clear he is open to collaboration (I only wish I could code!).

If the community is waiting on a new release from CZ (containing what exactly?), well CZ has said he's currently working on another project at the moment. From what I can tell no-one is paying CZ to constantly enhance BBR, it's a labour of love. I know from experience that passions are great however sometimes bills need to be paid.

Fact remains that despite the radio silence BBR still remains one of the (if not the) most technically advanced Cryptonote coins. So people can choose to invest, support or contribute to what it is (fast, user-friendly, truly anonymous PoW coin with no pre-mine and a sensible emission curve that doesn't penalise late adopters), or put their time, money and energy elsewhere.

Maybe a little bit harsh, but there was a somewhat recent spam attack that seemed to be an impetus to implement per-kb fees, but rather was just let go on until the attacker apparently lost interest. Also, with respect to the bolded portion of your quote, that's not quite true. The miners are paying him 1% of all BBR generated, which as I said above isn't a huge dollar amount, but it's not nothing. If the coin was actually used in a significant way as a currency, and had a market cap anywhere close to bitcoin, then 1% could be a huge amount of money and would possibly be beyond reasonable recompense, which is why I'm not really a fan of the model. Anyway, you're right, I'm not actively doing anything really to support BBR, so I'm not gonna sit here and kvetch. Maybe someday the new GUI will get released, and, who knows, maybe in the year 2099 supernet will actually see the light of day Tongue

XMR was a head start plus pumping groups have been being into since start multiple times

Yes because BBR has never, ever been pumped, right?

Pump groups are all over crypto, wherever they feel they can make a buck. Has little to do with the merits of the coin itself usually.

I have just sent letter to www.cryptomining-blog.com
_________________________________________________________________
Dear Editorial,

There is one interesting cryptonote coin called Boolberry that has not been reviewed yet in cryptomining-blog.com

Website: http://www.boolberry.com

This cryptonote coin has many advantage such as:

1. Reduced blockchain by pruning ring signature. By pruning ring signature every year the blockchain size reduced almost 55%

2. Aliases address to make short 64 bytes address. E.g. @bb instead 1khx34hG2gavcMBCDSklj... 64 bytes length.

3. Completely anonymous and anti blockchain analysis.

Please consider Boolberry to be reviewed here.

Thank you.
_____________________________________________________________________

Maybe if each of us sent request to cryptomining-blog.com to review BBR and they do, then might  BBR will become famous and more widely kbown.

I just send them an email too.

Bitcoin Talk Thread: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bbr-boolberry-privacy-and-security-guaranteed-since-2014-577267

Boolberry is a cryptocurrency based on CryptoNote technology. Boolberry's major benefit is that it provides much stronger privacy for both the senders and receivers of transactions.  It does so by ensuring that receivers are anonymous (the destination of a transaction can only be determined by its real recipient) and transactions cannot be linked to a single sender. Instead, each transaction could have many equally possible senders, and an attacker cannot determine which one it was.

Boolberry improves upon Ordinary CryptoNote technology in several ways. Boolberry offers improved anonymity through unlinkable outputs. Boolberry reduces the size of the block chain, the global ledger of all transactions, by  pruning the ring-signatures. This provides over a 55% reduction in block chain size. These features are found in no other CryptoNote based cryptocurrency.

A few other exclusive features are an easy-to-use GUI wallet, address aliasing and the ability to send network alerts.

Thank you.

Boolberry is a great coin and has a great dev, but it has very little marketing.

When Boobsberry change?

not for sure, evan just spoke about that they are thinking of.

BBR's main problem is not the name - more the overcoming silence in this thread and no further infos about.
to be honest, I like BBR - and I like to hear what will happening in the future. Or is there no future?

integration into superNET was planed long time ago, but looking in that thread doesn't show me much about the appearance of BBR.

I'm not mining anymore, but still hold some BBR. The long periods of silence with no releases makes me wonder what is cryptozoidberg collecting 1% of all blocks for? Work is done on louis d'or. According to Zoidberg as its the same code, work on louis d'or will help BBR in the long run.

Apparently, the problem is lack of funds. Bitcrea used to work for BBR but had to stopped because of this.

Developping a coin is really expensive. THe monero core team put hundreds of bitcoin into it. But They did it from their own pocket.

XMR was a head start plus pumping groups have been being into since start multiple times over plus bunch of donations, as smart ones have put money towards developing as to reckon they use it well to increase the remaining part of their holdings plus marketing efforts, all this leads to bullberry being worth 3% the price of monero.  Grin simply.

My name on the trollbox is mktg2009. I took Rpietila to task and called him out on his pathetic statements, but it didn't matter.

you also can say stupid things

Yep. Thats why no one should ever be presumptuous. When I made that statement I had gotten assurances a plan would go through that would have made that happen. Certain parties changed their mind. So don't be presumptuous.

Yeah I remember the plan. It's been a long time now. Would you mind sharing what it was exactly?
