why?
this method works. sockpuppets have no point to vote, only people that are known will have impact
it is an advisory vote to let CZ know what the community (and individually) wants

Then I think we can all agree that as the creator and dev of the coin, he should be able to decide based on the voting details
So, the process I proposed has been accepted by the vocal critics, at least I hear no screaming or calling me the devil.

Speak up now and post your vote. After some reasonable period, it will be tallied by handle/name and posted for accuracy.
Then CZ decides

Process Defined. Now we just need more than the three votes!

Boolberry
Rune
BBR Ciphers

I think Boolberry is a terrible name. People here already are not the right people to judge whether Boolberry is a marketable name or not, because it's easy to get used to anything, but for new people it'll take a lot to overcome the initial aversion to using such a cartoonish name for their money. Probably Boolberry would be much higher on marketcap now with a better name. I imagine most people came to here in spite of the name rather than because of it and then maybe came of like it. But making people think twice/three/ a dozen times before even considering the coin because of the name will be a rock around its neck for a long time holding it back unless it is changed now.

I think it is quite the opposite, it may put down some ppl in the start but it is not a problem for the long time holding. Some do need incubation period with it, and that fact was used as a FUD against it, that is true

How is that the opposite. I'm saying that it turns off new users, but it doesn't matter once you are already a holder, which you seem to agree with. Makes it terrible for marketing to new users.

I misunderstood the end of your post, thought you were saying that the name will go bad with the time in the head of an average holder. sorry

hence my suggestion of "BBR Ciphers"
it wont mean anything to new users, but the people that love the boolberry can still have a link to it

Crypto is the separation of Power and State.
I am working on fund raising, but I need a community consensus on the name first
anybody can vote
it is just an open vote
you have a problem with this?

I'd prefer to exclude new accounts/sockpuppets from voting, or charge 1 BBR per vote.

But an open vote is fine too, as long as we are allowed to choose BBR.

Thanks for taking care of it!  The sooner we get back on track the better.  Big day tomorrow!   Grin

I think it is clear that we do need to achieve community consensus on this issue.

Clearly "Boolberry" has a lot more support than all the detractors from the name have claimed.

I suggest we hold a vote

We need a volunteer to keep track of the votes. My vote is for "BBR ciphers"

We already had a vote.  BBR beat Rune 2:1.

The excuse for ignoring that vote is that sockpuppets voted.

Should we only allow Senior+ members to vote?

I think an auction to to raise dev funds would most clearly establish who has renaming rights.

Money talks; biggest BBR benefactor wins and we have to listen.

Flooz> Boolberry > Ciphers > >>>>>>>>>>> Rune

Can't understand how CZ like Rune. It's like the total opposite of the boolberry name. Makes absolutely no sense to me. Even from a SEO perspective its terrible : there already are runescape, runecoins and other rune gay metal stuff that i wish i had never heard about.

Also, read this:

"Personally love boolberry. I dont think the name reflects what the coin does, but that's why I love it. It is almost like a cover for what it is. Can you imagine law enforcement having to hold press conferences about fighting the outbreak of boolberry use?"

The part in red is very true.

But Flooz is the name of a notorious fake internet money startup from the dotcom bubble.  Let's not go there.

If you guys want a name with a deep meaning, you may be interested in names deriving from "shells" because according to Nick Szabo Origin of money paper, it is shells that were used as money at the beginning.

In esperanto, "Konko" means shells.

I suggest we hold a vote, but agree to abide by CZ's decision. It is his coin and I think ultimately he can call it whatever he wants to, but having an indication of what the community wants is important.

+1 to this. I vote Boolberry. But will back whatever CZ decides.
