I can't answer a lot of that, but here is what you probably want to really read and think hard about before investing in this coin.

The first step is admitting there's a problem. More detailed reply from CH later. Perhaps I am a troll - I smell blood.

The last update (v1.0.5) is very impressive, to say the least. Also, you guys got covered on CryptoCoinsNews: https://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/bytecoin-updates-wallet-capabilities-quest-better-financial-system/

I'm planning to invest into BCN, but I still have some doubts/questions.

1) What's the talk about an 80% premine? Any proof that this DID or DID NOT happen?

2) What's the maximum amount of BCN that can be transfered per transaction?

3) Where else can I download the latest version of the wallet? (SourceForge is down, they're having issues at the moment)

4) Where's the discussion about BCN? (The inactivity/silence in this BitcoinTalk ANN topic bothers me)

5) What about the activity of the development team? (The OP guys [DStrange] hasn't been online for nearly 2 weeks?)

6) What's up with the price? (Unless there's no marketing/adoption/active development at all, 20 sats is incredibly low)

We have just updated Bytecoin to version 1.0.5. The following features have been introduced:

Bytecoin Reference Client

1. Real-time transactions pool synchronization is a solution, which guarantees that all network nodes have similar unconfirmed transactions lists. As soon as one node receives user's transaction, it ensures that this transaction is included into transactions pools of all nodes. Therefore, every miner will have a complete unconfirmed transactions list. Read more in our blog post that covers the solution.

2. New network library with network code operating significantly faster than the existing solution. It allows for increased stability of data exchange between the nodes in runtime. We are planning to release this library as a stand-alone project so that any p2p app developer can use utilize it.

3. Block Explorer high-level API has been added to our APIs. With its help, developers will be able to create services that obtain data directly from the blockchain. We've used this interface to integrate Block Explorer into the Wallet. Read more in Bytecoin Wiki

4. A new method "list_transfers" has been introduced in Bytcoin RPC Wallet allowing to receive all incoming transactions regardless of their payment_id.

5. In-wallet integrated miner and block explorer. These features turn Wallet into an integral 'control center' allowing to receive and send transactions, mine BCN using any pool, and navigate inside in-app block explorer.

In the previous post I wrote about general direction of business development in the 21st century, and touched the subject of tools it would require. I am going to elaborate on the case from that post and tell you how can production and delivery of the 'customized' flakes be organized.

Let us have a look at the principal scheme of custom flakes business based on smart contracts. In the simplest case there are three actors entering contractual relations.

Bytecoin team has updated the roadmap for the upcoming three releases:

- Version 1.0.6 has been split. Real time transactions sync has been moved earlier to version 1.0.5, which is coming out this week. Other features (tracking key import/export and 8-bit color scheme) have been moved to version 1.0.7
- Multiple addressing for Bytecoin RPC Wallet has been moved to version 1.0.6 (instead of 1.0.7).
- Version 1.0.7 introduces two significant CryptoNote protocol updates: new transaction priority rules and transactions inputs optimization:

Nice developments in the downtrend.  I do love controversial coins... om nom nom

1 week and it is not moving .Where is the problem??

I've noticed the following Bytecoin Wallet behavior:

1. Create an excessively large transaction (like 1,234,567.12345 with a high mixin). Trying to send it would result in error.

2. Reduce the tx size (e.g. by decreasing the transfer sum to 567.00). The transaction goes through.

As a result, you'll have not one tx in your latest tx list, but two, including the one that was not sent. I guess this is a purely Wallet wrong behavior, as such transactions are never broadcast to network.

The way to fix the tx list is simple: just reopen the wallet file.

I hope this is going to be fixed soon.

Sending just 5,000 hosed it up. I'm generous too offering .9 bytecoin payment to process.
Sending 500 at a time ? Really.....That's just a few cents at a time. Even Doge could handle more.

I've opened and closed the wallet to no avail. It's been syncing this morning for over an hour (bottom right circle).

Like I've said....walking away from this coin and fortunately not out much. Ready to delete and say goodbye.

Still no transaction ID? Can't you post it here?

Isn't this enough to stop BCN ever becoming anything special, no matter how much effort goes into developing it? I think most people would simply see this as an unfair distribution at best, and at worst (faked blockchain) a scam. Whether either or neither of these is true, the coin is tainted and I suspect has no real future.
