I think most of the users are upset because when they had knowledge of bytecoin a large portion was already mined, and so what?

If anyone wants the coin he can mine it with a lousy computer.

For me bitcoin is much more unfair, i can`t mining it and i only knew of is existence in 2013.

If that were the reason for users being upset, then you would be right somewhat.

However, that is not the reason users are upset. Users are upset because the Bytecoin project is an abject fraud, the back story is a lie, and 82% of the coins were in-effect premined and then misrepresented.

It isn't a question of 'fairness' it is one of distaste and distrust.

People don't want to be associated with ugly lies and fraud, nor do they want to support it or the people behind it.

Yes but they are the ORIGINAL, not copy clone.  Smiley

Tenebrix was the original scrypt coin. It died and was replaced by LTC because it was premined, and that wasn't even done fraudulently.

Being the original works, as long as long as the original isn't crippled by foolish (or worse fraudulent) decisions made by its developer. Otherwise, in practice, the "original" is nothing more than a prototype.

Are you really comparing a bunch of guys competing for less than 5% of the emission with a 82% hidden premine along with a crippled miner and a bunch of lies to try to hide it? Be serious!

Well, let's see, the un-deoptimized miner was committed to bytecoin on May 8, 2014 (merged from Quazarcoin which was forked from Monero). If we are to believe that Bytecoin was launched July 4, 2012, that means the very same issue with the crippled miner that existed in Monero for roughly a month (first commit to start fixing it by the Monero core team after 19 days) existed in Bytecoin for almost two years.

By comparison yes, Monero was really clean clean clean. Even in absolute terms starting to get it fixed in 19 days by a team that didn't know each other and didn't develop the original code is pretty damn good.

Greetings guys!

I’d like to invite you all to a brand new, freshly established Bytecoin forum - bytecointalk.org

Keeping in mind further grows of Bytecoin community I think it’s about time we launch a dedicated forum that will fit all users - both newcomers and oldschool.

I hope that Bytecoin devs won’t miss it and will join us on occasion. Smiley

So, without further adieu,  welcome to bytecointalk.org

Thank you, Cheesus!

I just don't support the attitude of some pseudo so-called "Devs" that are now known as TRolleros!
They can work on their project, instead of passing all day making pseudo-debate. (and making false accusation).

Not to mention that Monero launch was not really clean clean clean.... Roll Eyes

You mean because of the deliberately crippled miner inherited from the bytecoin devs?

If anything, we all owe the monero team for fixing the problem.

The "glitch" in the obfuscated miner was fixed extremely fast (by NoodleDoodle, one of the core team members), a lot faster than most people remember. At the time it was a pretty big deal.

Specifically, the change was commited May 7th, so ~19 days from launch = 2.58% of initial emission mined up to that point (we have infinite tail emission, but still use the 18.4 million initial emission as a reference point). This was roughly a 2.5x speed improvement over the original (sorry smooth, I was misremembering yesterday). There was an additional speed bump, once AES-NI support was added on May 18th, and that was an additional ~5x speed improvement, so by the time the first month had passed we'd improved the miner efficiency by more than 12x and made those changes publicly available.

At that point 826k XMR had been mined, so we're talking about dga and others competing with our public improvements to the hash function that everyone used for a piece of 4.49% of the initial emission. It was a bit of an arms race, although the miners that were just pulling the changes that were committed to the repo were not at much of a disadvantage (in fact they were probably at an advantage, as they were able to expend more energy spinning up AWS instances since they weren't trying to optimise code:-P )

Are you really comparing a bunch of guys competing for less than 5% of the emission with a 82% hidden premine along with a crippled miner and a bunch of lies to try to hide it? Be serious!

The focus should be on Monero and not bringing down BCN. Its a never ending fight and the fact that its been going on for nearly a year makes that very clear.

So much this! And they are not only focusing on bringing down BCN, they also pass a lot of time "trying" to bringing down DASH...
I don't like this, it seam that it is in their road map like THE principal point of progress..

Edit (I don't have any respect for smooth anymore)

And I think if a big problem should occur to a CN coin, they will be able to manage it, not like Trollero so busy on spiting on DASH..  Roll Eyes

Yeah, Monero in the early days was a mess. The ultimate take over and name change was a bit forced early on, but to compare Monero from what it was to what is now is silly. They have grown immensely and despite a slow development on key aspects, have big names backing them. They are transparent and have a bright future.

I would ultimately enjoy the end of the finger pointing and slander, despite what they feel is true and what not. The focus should be on Monero and not bringing down BCN. Its a never ending fight and the fact that its been going on for nearly a year makes that very clear. With that said, I have have a lot of respect for smooth and we have had our arguments and disagreements, but he is not a FUDster, he brings proof to argument and handles himself in a very professional manner.

I do hold BCN, but I only hold what I mined. I have not sold any. I hold Monero and Darknote also. I have no bias toward any of these coins.

Please be honest, you don't own any BCN? I bet you do for the same reason i do.

Don't be angry with BCN devs, I am not, they created the coin, so is their coin.

Every person has a different view of is reality according to his life/education and difficulties, i am gonna buy a little more when i have the money and forget about for at lest 2 years, if i lose everything, it's a lesson of life. Smiley

We can not always win.

In my life i have this thought: We only know the true taste of sweet after we tasted the bitterness.

The way you asked the question makes me think you won't believe me, but here it goes.

I don't own any BCN since 28-07-2014.

The question was not to offend you, if i did, i am sorry.

Peace to you.

No offense taken. btw, did you see my edit? ^

Edit: A question someone asked in another thread reminded me of asking you this. Are you aware the original cryptonight miner released with bytecoin was deliberately crippled? That makes you think, doesn't it? Roll Eyes

Fairness is beside the point. BCN traded at 3 to 5 sats for quite some time so you seemingly could have accumulated a meaningful number of coins. Except you couldn't because the guys with the stash  didn't want to. And that is the problem.

total bytecoins 184 000 000 000 ?  and now already 171 950 398 069 ?

Yes that's the true, you better buy it now until is cheap.

It could get even cheaper.

Everything is possible, but right now no one is pumping or promoting the coin, and the trend is up, but you can wait for some one to dump.

In my case i am going to wait to buy a little more.

If they deliver everything they say in the roadmap, well, they are top notch in cryptonote technology, making everyone else just apprentices.

Wake up, man.

You can thank me later.

I thank you right now.

I did read most of of that topic, and i can make my own decisions.

I like cryptonote coins, xmr, xdn, dsh, etc... but Bytecoin is the first and i want some of them also. The future is unpredictable.
