News section on CryptoNote.org
We are happy to announce a news section on the cryptonote.org. The new section is dedicated to new developments, ideas and news from the CryptoNote realm. About two years ago the CryptoNote technology had only been represented by Bytecoin (BCN) but since then things have changed dramatically. Not only the number of Bytecoins has soared, the other coins such as Quazarcoin, Fantomcoin and Monero are taking the cryptocurrency world by storm. The CryptoNote community becomes very diverse and geographically disseminated therefore we believe it is our duty to spread the word and bring everyone at one place.  Just by clicking on the news tab you’ll have the latest account on what’s been going on with CryptoNote-based currencies along with fresh updates from the devs at hand. The idea is to turn this website into a vibrant pool of information accessible to anybody who wants to keep one's finger on the pulse of CryptoNote technology. If you are a CryptoNote enthusiast and you have some ideas worth sharing, please don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected]

Thanks a lot for the announcement! We will surely inform you about latest BCN Community news.

@ flower1024:  It would be interesting to compare the graphs you have worked out (thx alot, very nice!) with those available for Bitcoin. Since much more certainty exists about the influencing factors to Bitcoin's blockchain and history, a comparison between the two would be quite telling to whether Bytecoin has indeed been growing organically, like Bitcoin; and may also reveal other stuff we can not yet infer.

Despite the impressive job you have done, Id like to remind you that your conclusions, to date remain hypothesises, until further cemented by additional evidence. For example, at least I have not seen compelling evidence that real people have created those myriads of transactions during Bytecoins stealth phase and not a couple of different bots as result of some experiments. We also know very little about the actual developers and their intentions. If the early tx activity is indeed the product of efforts to increase anonymity for later users or just the result of initial interest and network activity or the attempt to set up field conditions for further testing is unknown. I hope we see more of you and other researchers in the field! Looking forward to it.

Yes, good idea. I will try to do it, but it may take a lot of time.

Have you seen the new web page https://bytecoin.org/index ? cool.  Wink

wow looks really great. i like bytecoin more and more.
Yeah it looks nice, but the previous design look pretty good too. Why go through all the trouble to release this design in May only to have it replaced less than 2 month later? A little strange.
I agree. And all they did was make it worse, it has more of a product feel to it now.

Devs make lots of improvements. This is starting to get big hype. Luckily BCN is long term coin and it's true anonymous, so I am sure  it's going to be mass adopted.

can someone explain me how to copy and paste the deposit adress into simplewallet.  Strg+C dont work and right mouse click also dont work ?!

can someone please answer my question. i dont want to type the deposit adress and the payment id manually in simplewallet.

To paste into a terminal window in Linux you can try SHIFT+INSERT
that is an older form of paste.

The windows simplewallet has as drop down menu in the upper left hand corner select edit then paste.

Thank you very much, it worked for me.

What I like in BCN is that still we don't know who are the developers in compare with other coins based on cryptonote.
And, IMHO, bcn developers has their own view on crypto currency's future as well as CryptoNoe developers.

Well, if you are on windows, then consider taking one step further and upgrade:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/console
http://sourceforge.net/projects/conemu

Pick whatever you like. Both are good.

57.7% of all Litecoins are owned by 26 addresses  (0.01%)
46% of all Dogecoins are owned by 58 addresses  (0.01%)
39.8% of all Peercoins are owned by 31 addresses  (0.14%)
39% of all Blackcoins are owned by 11 addresses  (0.05%)
And I can show you that all crypto currencies have this "problem".
Do you really think premine, if any, is really such a big problem?

Also, I clearly see 2 hash rate spikes (one in September 2012 and one in August 2013) that convince me this coin is not premined. It is premined only if you define "premine" as "not mined by Bitcointalk community". And I think this is what drives crazy most of the guys here.

That's how financial world works actually . There's usually 10% of people who own 90% of funds.
