Haha, maybe.

CryptoNote Exchange is shutting down

Before you freak out: No, we did not get hacked. Yes, 100% of the funds are in our reserves and secure.

This exchange was launched first and foremost to bring monero to exchanges.

hmm this really makes me think that MRO has bad effect on BCN

Hello all. I haven't been here for a while so I saw your BCN thread for the first time yesterday evening. You know what? It seems to me I had been mining Bytecoin in 2012.

You've freaked me out. I am in indifferent mood about your affirmation and I know you don't have to prove anything but fill our shoes. We've been dispute about ''premining'' and h/r , an exchange has just shut down - after this statement we need some proof. It os as necessary as air.

Anybody of you tried to install minergate on ubuntu? On my computer with ubuntu 12.10 64bit there are some problems with "dedendancy libqt5core5|libqt5core5a", which prevents the miner from being installed. Anybody encountered this? How to solve?
I had wasted a lot of time trying to get it working on ubuntu, in the end i installed linuxmint and minergate installs without a problem with the default package installer.

Its the same here now. Installing starts, then it says:"Failed to download package files Check your Internet connection."

It really won´t work on ubuntu. Now I try linuxmint 17... (which is also based on ubuntu)

I wonder why there is a 64Bit requirement on Linux, but not on windows.

Edit: Successul. Thanks.

Thanks also to you. I just download Ubuntu 14.04 64Bit. If the installation fails there, I will try linuxmint right after.

This proves exactly nothing.
Unless we crack the password and find 100M inside the wallet (or 0).
BTW, beware with this site. There are some malware links.

AFAIK, Minergate is working with 13.10 (and higher) Ubuntu version only.

Thanks. That helped me. I will Install the newer ubuntu.

Another Question: Is there a binary for cpuminer-multi for linux somewhere to download? I found only win-binaries and on git-hub some confusing mass of files which made me dizzy... ;-)

You can make the linux version yourself. Unfortunately I can't tell how exactly - try to ask it in the cpuminer-multi thread. Smiley

I don't have the .onion address. But it looked similar to the one mentioned earlier.
And as I have already told I have the wallet keys files, but nothing else.

What's so weird about mining on laptop?

I was at Bitcoin London Conf in 2012 and went to have a beer with friends to the nearest pub last evening. I met a guy there (don't remember his name. something like Jeff or John, maybe).
He told me about ring signatures and mentioned something about CryptoNote. I felt interested and tried to ask him for more details. He was with a company too(10 or 12 people meetup) so our conversation was rather short. We chatted a bit and he gave me a card with .onion website address. He said it would be a currency of the future and I had to mine it.
Your BCT account looks suspiciously like one of the ones that was sold after the bct hacks last year.

Do you have the onion address you were given? Do you still have the bytecoin wallet?

I want you to sha256 all the files you have related to bytecoin and post the hashes, then we can ask further questions about them.

You claim here to have been mining with a laptop, but your posting history doesn't support that, e.g.:

Ive tried saving up money to buy a decent video card, and for whatever reason, i cannot do it. So im ready to rent out my PCI-E space, whoever wants to send me a card, ill install it, and run it 24x7. We will split what BTC is made 80% (you) / 20% (me) - until the card is paid off (which we both will agree on). Afterwards, we will split the BTC 40% (you) / 60% (for a specified amount of time to be agreed upon).

Im open to other offers, just let me know. System:
1 x Auria 32" 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV EQ3266e
1 x Rosewill RFA-80-BL 80mm 4 Blue LEDs LED Case Fan
1 x ASUS M4A785-M AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
1 x AMD Phenom 9850 Black Edition 2.5GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Desktop Processor HD985ZXAJ4BGH - OEM
1 x ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM
1 x LOGISYS Computer Area 51 CS51WSL Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 480W Power Supply
1 x Rosewill RFA-80-K 80mm Case Fan
1 x AMD Phenom 8650 Toliman 2.3GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Triple-Core Processor HD8650WCJ3BGH - OEM
1 x Rosewill RCX-ZAIO-92 92mm Sleeve Bearing Fan CPU Cooler
4 x 1GB DDR2 800Mhz 240 pin Memory
1 x Nvidia GT 220 1GB Video Card (which i will remove)

Well, to be fair - your second claim is not really valid since this "saving up money" was in 2011.

The other one tho... Let's see what he has to say about that.

No, I'm not. When I saw this thread I rushed to my old laptop and even found a wallet file there.
I'm such a looser, you know. I don't remember the password. I may have had 60 BTC when the rate was 0.0000006.

Wait for the quantum computers - bruteforce is your choice.  Grin

Don't rub salt in the wound. I tried all my usual passwords but no one hit the mark.

Send me the wallet. I'm the password master. Grin

Another thing i just stumbled on is they mentioned a meeting somewhere in London around Sept. 2012. Around the same time there was a Bitcoin Conference in the same city.

It was mentioned before, sounds legit. Jeff Garzik anyone?

Jeff Garzik? Maybe, I don't remember. But doesn't look like a guy.

Old community army is coming at us? Lol.

So, been mining much in 2012?

I used to mine with my old laptop. Difficulty wasn't that high and I used to find blocks rather regularly. So I did around 100M for a week, but I saw no reason to mine further since I knew no places
to spend it. Also I didn't know where it came from and where it would be.

Good for you... I guess.

Are you going to dump it on us? Grin

I think it's all bullshit - show us the proof. Proof or never happened.

What kind of proof do you mean? I don't know how he can proove his words. So should we believe him or not is the question.

You cought them probably based on news from 09/10/2012 on the old website.

It is exciting game to look for the hidden, secrets in the past, but I am not sure if this is helpful. Would not be better to let the developers work in anonymity instead of seeking where they are and who are they? Wink
