Sorry to raise this topic over here, it was too heavy for me to answer all alone so I decided to share here to see some reasonable answer from those that have been in such situations. An hour ago, I went out with a friend of mine and it happens to be a drinking hall (beer parlor) where he got drunk and as well trading.
The question is, can you trade while you are already drunk?
I was asked this question because I have never been in that mood before being drunk while trading and those who have been in that condition what was your actions and reaction while trading because I noticed something very hard for someone to be drunk and as well trade, do you make profits or keep losing maybe do you close your trade after being drunk.

I have reason where this topic should be posted but if any of you think this topic is not at the right place then suggest me the proper place where I can moved it to I will be very grateful.

The floor is always open for more discussions.

If you mean you're trading with your mobile or whatever while you're drinking, I think it's fine for you to trade.

But if you know that someone is right or that he is drunk, it is better to stop trading first because maybe later you will make a wrong buy or sell set and you will regret it in the end. You know when you're drunk you can hardly control yourself compared to when you're just starting and alcohol doesn't do you any good.

As we almost all know, trading is extremely risky on regular ground, so we need to pay closer attention to it whenever we are engaged in it. So why would someone drink alcohol and still take their phone or laptop to involve itself on trading, that could be dangerous for them to do since they won't ever be able to function normally again? As a result, you must avoid being distracted while trading, whether you are intoxicated or asleep.so as for me it is not advisable to be on alcohol and still decide to trading at same time again, no matter the level of alcohol you may take, I will never advise that.

Hehe.. He didn't go with any laptop rather using his smartphone to control and monitor his trading...
Okay. I get your position now with the mobile phone stuff. However, if he was already in a trade (like you said it was monitoring) before visiting the drinking place I don't see how it should be a problem because he would've set his Stop Lose and Take Profit before hand. It's not like determining and reading charts to trigger a trade. The trade would've been entered in clear head and mind. With SL and TP in place, no trader should get unnecessarily over active or tensed. Just set them and let your trade run. For me, the SL is even more important that the TP because it helps you safe guard your account.

That someone was drinking alcohol doesn't mean they're drunk or can get drunk from it. That's by the way. Actually, anyone trading in a state of drunkenness doesn't value or think much of their trading as a serious investment. Why would anyone try such? Come to think of it, why would anyone even take their laptop to a drinking bar to trade when they know they're going there to drink and flex? It's a complete bad idea. Trading while drunk is like driving when one is drunk.

Hehe.. He didn't go with any laptop rather using his smartphone to control and monitor his trading i was like what are you doing he said trading off course so this keep into me to asked to see what could be some answers of many of us here. So far, what I understand from him that he can easily control the level of alcohol in him, so just as you said. One can be drinking but doesn't mean he's entirely drunk.

I wasn't drunk but was a little tipsy at a party somewhere near Christmas when Bitcoin started recovering after years of bear market. I can't remember the exact year, but it was when Covid-19 had started, probably towards the end of 2019 or 2020. Bitcoin had skyrocketed to $25,000, something that was extravagant at that point since after the 2018 crash, and I was overwhelmed, especially after one or two drinks. The result was me selling half of my Bitcoin that night, which was something that I was already considering but wouldn't have done yet if I had a clear head; I would have thought it twice.

I don't think, is advisable for a trader to be drunk when trading in the market because it will make the trader not to concentrate on the right direction than to follow the directions of the alcohol to wrong Way, which it can lead to losses that will make that trader to feel bad. I know alcohol is not a something you will be drinking when working or trading in the crypto market, because it will make you to see negative things as positive things that will make you to sell all your coins when there is no time to release them for sale. I believe, this topic will definitely help some traders that are Planning to go into alcohol when trading in the crypto market.

That is not good to have a drink before trading because it can affect your performance and your process to think, Actually I never did it and I'll never do it because I respect my plan and also my discpline. For me, alcohol can be a poison not only in your body but also in your mind, if you will trade while your drunk; there is a high chance that you will lose because you can not think very well when you are drunk. Actually, I avoid trading when I have lack of sleep because I'm aware that my thinking process is not that good and the probability of winning is very low.

Always evaluate yourself before trading. Remember that in trading is" it is not about the money that you earn, it is about how much you do not lose". Remember this advice and try to repeat it and you will get an idea on how important thinking process could be in trading.

Your friend is playing with fire, one of the most basic rules not only when it comes to trading but life in general is to never take an important decision that can impact your life while you are intoxicated and your mind is not as alert as it can be.

Your friend is being incredibly irresponsible, as trading is hard enough even when you are fully concentrated on the activity, now imagine how hard it can be if a person is trading in such an inconvenient state? So given enough time there is little doubt your friend will make an irreparable mistake.

never that I will do this again mate , back in 2019 there are couple of chances that me and my friend tried to trade while having our weekly drinking session and yes , all of the outcome are failed and there are also instance that we are deciding against the speculation but because only of the potential gains.
never trade while drunk but we can trade with small amount of alcohol to ease the waiting or the urge of gaining.

People who are used to doing this will definitely no longer face problems, but I'm sure they are used to doing other things that stimulate adrenaline by first getting drunk to make them more enthusiastic, but I have never done this and have never even been drunk so don't know exactly what to do people feel when they are drunk, but for me trading must be done with a clear mind because it requires analysis and succeeding in getting a profit or vice versa really depends on good analytical.

I have never and can't imagine trading while drunk, because if I'm too drunk to open my computer or cellphone it feels very lazy and heavy. Moreover, trading while heavily drunk, and just by looking at it is very dizzy and also blurry which will lead to big mistakes due to being influenced by liquor which makes us unable to control it.
But it's a different story if you just drink a little and warm up, because many people do any work because they are used to it.
I used to drink when I wasn't married, but for drinking I just sat quietly and did nothing while listening to music to enjoy it.

and maybe the OP's story about his friend, he's used to it and is also a professional at doing it, and otherwise he definitely wouldn't do it again. Because in my opinion this is an asset that should not be done haphazardly and also should not be done in a drunken state, unless he is used to it and is also professional.

I don't think it's something that should be advisable, just like it is not advisable to operate machinery when under the influence of alcohol.

The fact is, once one is drank, the ability to make rational decisions is reduced. Proper decision-making is very vital in trading
This is somehow we can related to gambling while drunk.
Since I already experienced a lot of times that I trade while I am drunk, for me, I really don't advise doing it. Because I feel like I am really super positive and sometimes I do not follow my risk management even though you are positive about your position.
Since risk management is more important for me and my capital too. You must trade once your mind is clear and free, and feel normal.

I can i am just not that good with it. Sometimes confidence i get fron it helps but being too confident and risk seeker can be bad combination.

I have a same rule with gambling, and that is,: don't trade/gamble when you are drunk. Because being under The influence lowers my ability to make wise decisions.

And don't get me wrong, it's fun to trade while drunk but hangovers are the worst when you have lost ton of money and have only vague memory what happened

When people are drunk, they are not normal. A man can take any position at any time if there is no man in normal condition. I haven't done anything drunk till date and haven't gone to a drinking hotel or eaten any crap to get drunk. But since your friend started trading as a drunkard he will definitely lose his business. Trading definitely requires a healthy mindset. I think it is best not to trade drunk.

Be especially careful that your friend does not indulge in gambling while drunk. And suggest your friends to come back from all these locations. Because all these things seriously destroy people.

Trading while you are drunk is not advisable even if you say that you know what you are doing, there’s a lot of risk on this and I will not do this not in front of my friend because I might be in trouble later on.

Privacy is still the best, better not to share this with anyone especially in a bar where someone might took advantage of you. If that is your closest friend, better to advise this to him and do better next time.

The question is, can you trade while you are already drunk?

It is taboo to trade while a person is drunk.  It is also one of the must be avoided situations.  As a trader, I never had experience trading while drunk, one of the reason is that, it is hard to make a right decision in trading when one is under the influence of an alcohol

Probably that your friend can still think properly even if he is drunk already, so this will depend on your beer tolerance since there are someone who can’t totally handle himself when he get drunk. With your friend case, I think he know what he is doing, did you try to ask him for the result of his trade?

Personally, i will not try this one because its too risky and you might lose all your money because you trade while you are drunk and I know myself as a weak in beers, so will never don this.

I also think that is the case.  Probably his friend has high tolerance to alcohol so while @OP is probably drunk, his friend is still good.  Though I wonder what happen to the trade done of @OP's friend.  Is it a profitable trade or the effect of alcohol affects his trading decisions and lost.

You can still trade and be drunk at the same time. There's this type of drunk that knows what he's doing while someone who's drunk that he's already in other dimensions. So choose what type of drunk you're experiencing and if it's the latter part then don't spend and waste your money doing trades if it's too easy for you to throw money on an instant. But you know what's the best drunk and crypto stories that I've heard? It's about the legendary "I am HODLing" by gamekyuubi. (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-am-hodling-375643)

Well, I think everyone can trade and drink alcohol at the same time.  If you are still sane after all the drinking, you are not drunk at all.

My advice is don't drink during the trading period. Maybe he is just boasting and acting like a drunk. We don't know exactly if he is drunk or not. So don't copy that person and start doing that. You need the right mindset to do the trading. They say don't drink and drive for a reason. Imagine how much focus and analytic work you need to do while trading.

Trading while in a drunken stupor is ridiculous. There will be no clear thinking when trading, there will be no restrictions due to the influence of alcohol. Don't take a high risk to do this. Trading requires a clear mind to do some analysis. If you trade while drunk, then it's the same as you are gambling, without thought and without analysis, only trading under your awareness. I've never been drunk, but I often see people who have had too much alcohol and do stupid things. if they do trade, then it's obvious what will happen. Lost it all.
