There are also other people who think they can become oracles in the BTC ecosystem and try to pitch their ideas in small conferences. When you check their background some of them are either retired or yes, unemployed. Its funny.

Well this actually worked out for some but I don't think earning Bitcoin would be the best way to earn money especially now that your sister just got married. What if she would get pregnant, do you think earning Bitcoin can support the bills paid to check up on the doctor for pre-natal? I think they need to discuss it and get a real paying job first to save and then on their spare time they could earn from Bitcoin too. I think that's more practical.

How is working for Bitcoin any different than working for fiat? I would say the moral of this thread is that freelancing has become a big thing and that a lot of unemployed people are forced to do freelancing. Which can be good and bad depending on your skillset. None of this has anything to do with Bitcoin.
Bitcoin only makes sense if you have money to spare. Being unemployed you probably don't have any.

Weeks ago, I am discussing Bitcoin to my sister and my future brother-in-law (then) When they got married recently, both of them were unemployed and have been trying to get a job immediately after their marriage. Up until now they have no luck. My sister then decided to talk to me about how do I earn Bitcoins. I gladly explained it to her and then she decided to do it too. She was so happy that she is already earning bitcoin and had some extra budget while they are both unemployed. And now, she is so eager to learn more how to earn more coins.

Being unemployed drove her into engaging to Bitcoins. Maybe some people are like this. They grab Bitcoin when they are in need of money. And since that these people are now engaged in Bitcoin, I am sure that they will stay in Bitcoin and treat it as an investment even though they will have a decent paying jobs in the future.

I'm sure that this might be true, since as harsh at it is, bitcoins rarely require any skill. I think a lot of people start becoming freelancers and work for bitcoin since it is usually pretty simple.

Crypto has provided so many new opportunities especially for the unemployed people and on this forum alone, you can offer your services as a freelancer on a newbie account and people will hire you.

Earning by way of bitcoin has been a real life-saver for those who are having a hard time finding a day job. There are so many opportunities presently available online and one just need to look for those opportunities. If they strike gold (digitally, in this case), and brings them a consistent income, they would not even have to go back to being employed. Also, saving a part of their bitcoin income would be a wise decision especially if they intend to have  it for the long term.

It think being unemployed can attract most to anything new, but most often the #1 and #2 and #3 priority if you have bills is another job. But crypto-currencies are in a way like the wild west, unconquered, dangerous, massively hyped (how many horrible places where called Springfield or other beauties back then?) but also promising and fertile. How much has land appreciated in 200 years? You grand gran grand grand parent may have been poor with what now may be worth $1000 billions in land. Likewise, crypto is the same - many "Springfields", gold rushers , shovel sellers (ICOs) but also massive opportunity if you hold 10 or 20 years and pick wisely. And there can be work, it's just that it doesn't matter if its etc or etc or dollar - you will be paid a salary depending on how unique and needed your skills are. Making money with money not easy - and making income by coin appreciation is in reality like going to Las Vegas short term.

Unfortunately unless you are actually working a real job and getting paid in bitcoin, there are not many good ways of earning any real money.

There are couple of ways through which you can earn btc. You can start posting here and get paid though signature campaign., You can do freelancing work if you have some good skills and get paid in btc. You can learn the art of trading and make some money and also invest in some god altcoins which may give some short terms quick profits.

Bitcoin is a great for side income, this can be a temporary solution to your sister financial situation, but they should looking for a permanent job, we don't know how long Bitcoin can survive and Bitcoin price keep on changing, and the good news is after you got the job you still can earn with Bitcoin as your side income

I do agree with your comment and I believe that it is necessary for people to have a stable job and not just focus on bitcoin. Though if you are lucky with bitcoin you can be a millionaire in a short span of time but believe me that when problem occurs online or you got hacked you will lost everything. So for me it is nice to have a stable job and bitcoin both at the same time. But if you are really unlucky to find a job and you have nowhere to go then join bitcoin and earn online.

You are right! Cause I can imagine without great skills, the amount she will be earning from the likes of signature campaign which I believe kinda even pay better for people with low skills and also bounties and I don't see how this can even feed a family without a real job most especially since both the husband and wife doesn't have one. Trading can also be a good way but it is still a skill you need to learn and there are still some freelance platforms you can still offer your skills though, but you must really have those wanted skills to land something good for yourself often. I wish them the best anyway!
Digressing!...... How did they even get cash to marry without a job? What were they thinking? I hope those pressures of being cashless won't start affecting their marriage.

Bazinga!
bitcoin in the context you are suggesting is an investment for them, which means it has nothing to do with their unemployement in my opinion. there are many of them who invest in a lot of different things like stocks and gold. and bitcoin has found its way into their portfolio in the past couple of years.

although in some cases (which i believe is rare) some people start businesses with bitcoin and give up their "employment". that is a different scenrario, and is the best because it helps the bitcoin economy.

it is best that you and your sister start thinking about the second part, starting a business.

What exactly are you talking about ? Bitcoin is a payment method not a job or career. Wow the amount of nonesense topics are getting out of control.

If you earning Bitcoin you still working for it. Nothing has changed. You just being paid in bitcoin. Noob accounts shouldn't be allowed to make topics and this is exactly why. Actually irritates me.

You got it right bro! I don't know why they think that earning bitcoin is not a job when you will spend your time trying to earn bitcoin either trading or joining signature campaign. If you are a trader you will spend time reading charts and gathering information about the market and if your ways of getting bitcoin is by joining signature campaign then that is still a job since you will have to follow rules and you will need to render your service by posting here in bitcointalk.

That may be so with the op that his unemployed sister and brother-in-law got attracted to bitcoin and started earning good amount of bitcoin but I guess most of the people who joined bitcoin and became part of it are the ones who have already been involved in some sort of online money making activities. Being unemployed may drive you more to do and commit even crime than getting involved in something as less known as bitcoin. When I say less known I meant comparatively.

I do not know about that, when people are unemployed and without money they cannot afford to try new methods that are not tested to make money, they are going to try something that they already know it is going to give them good results, something like getting a job.

That's right, unemployed population seek different income sources as they don't have a real worl job. That's why they inregrate themselves into bitcoin and blockchain Technologies with hope that they could earn money.

I can see this happening because it doesn't take any skills or having an education to be able to obtain it.
It is all internet money or cryptocurrency as the people online like to call it.
So all you need is a data plan to hold, obtain and use it. Undecided

Correct. Bitcoin had this kind of ability to give benefits to people who are either unemployed or lack some skills or having an education. I think the OP has made a good moved helping her sister. Also, you may want her to teach how to earn fiat as well. There are a lot of freelancing sites that gives opportunity to others as well. The only drawback I'm seeing is that once your sister has earn bitcoin, she may not look for stable job. Just informed her that bitcoin earning is not stable and they should look for a stable job at least to better support them.

You have a point on drawback of bitcoin. I know a lot of bitcoiners that actually do rely on bitcoin as a means of salary, which for me is a mistake. They shouldn't consider bitcoin earning as fixed income. If they are going to rely on signature campaign, then its not enough because we all know that usually its just a month or less campaign. Well there is other campaign that is long running, but its hard to get in because it is already filled in by most seniors members or others who have been here too long in the forum.

its lame though, living on bitcoin sucks. you will look back when the price rises, and realize you paid a 100 dollars for a tank of gas Sad

The odd situation where the high speculative value of many cryptos are also preventing them from fulfilling the role they were supposed to serve. I imagine the black market still actively uses it as currency even today, or have they shifted to some other coin.
