NXT and NEM are the best coins.

POS coins need a strong an innovative development team and community, innovation driving use is the way forward as this increases the coins value.

With the news coming out on global warming this week PoW will soon become the 'dirty' coin - difficulty increase is a mathematical fiction, its not needed and bad for the planet... and all it helps now is the get-rich-quick-pump-and-dump-rape-miners that attack new coins with their high end mining machines.

NXT has a strong community and development team - the distribution could have been better but this is resolving to some degree.

NEM because members of the team made some great technical observations contributions in NXT forums before they left to form NEM so they clearly know their stuff and they are trying to solve the distribution of PoS with this coin.

Other PoS coins are unproven yet and frankly PoW is a waste of time and I dont believe in any 2.0 coins built ontop of bitcoin because its PoW

AFAIK Nas is a clone, one man developer and a mining coin.  No idea why people are promoting, mining coins are obsolete and the exceptions like Doge were fads at best.

Good that you say Afaik. Because it is completetly wrong what you said.
Clone with improvements.

No mining. But POS for Transaktion costs

No I was spot on.  Nas is a $hitclone of NxT and there's no team, just one guy pretending there is (like Marinecoin)

Another NxT clone (which won't fix BCnext's flaws) and ran by a sock puppet developer (7 posts and named after the coin) who has been banned twice. NAS doesn't belong on this thread, it's the first of many NxT $hitclone scams.

You folks looking for a new X11 with some potential should check what we've got going on over at givecoin.info, the announcement thread is here: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/ann-givecoin-x11-darkcoin-descendant-kgw-charity-through-cryptography-529181 for those interested. Since our launch yesterday, we've gotten a *few charities on board accepting GIVE and receiving early adopter donations and will eventually plan to move to a voting module for shares of our premine. We're always looking for constructive criticism, new ideas, and leads for charities who see the benefits of what cryptocurrencies have to offer  Smiley

everyone will say about the coin he holds , but i think VTC is good investment option . Coin is cheap atm , difficulty is rising .

+1. At least one coin that can not be mined by ASIC will survive, and VTC seems well suited for that position

This is such a specious point. If it can be mined by gpus it can be mined by asic. If & when it becomes worth the money to develop an asic to mine scrypt-n, scrypt jane, or scrypt-flowerpot somebody will do so. Aside from protecting gpu miners' profits from those "evil asic guys", these things don't serve a purpose. Take your scrypt-n coin and swap it's place on the crypto food chain with bitcoin. Now generic scrypt-n coin has a market cap of $5.2b and can only be mined by gpus. Do you really think people's money is safe in that thing without asic muscle to defend it? Is there any chance at all of such a coin becoming a global currency?

Also Gridcoin, because mining is useful for science; more than Primecoin. Its market cap is still very low, so it has much potential.
Finally Doge Smiley The block reward will be halved, and its community gains strenght everyday, and are very motivated to go to the moon! They are also great at making amazing publicity stunts, so they might even get more visibility than Bitcoin in the near future (ie. they sent the jamaican luge team to the winter olympics, and funded a doge-car for a Nascar driver)

I think PoS is unethical - it rewards whales and makes a coin look like a ponzi scheme

You have a problem with it rewarding people who buy and hold?
If it only rewarded those with deep pockets *cough*next*cough* then I could see your criticism, but that's not the case.
Single coins can stake so anyone can get in and build a stack.

It's not Microsoft stock but a currency.  Name 10 currencies in the real world with a proof of stake interest (not from the bank but from new allocation) and get back to me.
