For a beginner it's really difficult to decide that which coin is best for him. So i suggest to choose alt available in top 50 of the coinmarketcap or simply if you don't want any risk then go with ETH as prices are low at this time but these are very undervalued prices which are soon going to boost. The blockchain technology of ETH is being trusted by many ICO and its the base for smart contracts. Its worth investing altcoin if hodl for long term.
If you have a small capital, you can buy a coin that is still cheap or less than $1. You can list the top coin and still have a price below $1 such as ADA, Tron, NEM or Stellar. You can buy all four coins, and hodl for long term because for investment in altcoin is better good for long term investment. If you have other options, you can do research on the coin before investing. But I think the four coins had a good potential to be a place of investment.

i think as a beginer, you should choose an altcoins which has already in top 20, safe and popular to investors to start trading because you choose an altcoin at the first time should be more stable than any other altcoins, i suggest you should choose ETH or Ripple because they are one of the most popular altcoins on the market, and when they are fluctuative, we won't loss to much profit and they are easily recover in the future. For a beginner, I would choose one altcoin with great liquidity and as far as possible an estabilized price, I mean, in cryptocurrencies terms (even Bitcoin is volatile). Do not go at once in small caps, too many manipulation there and I would say this is for advanced users.

If you are inexperienced and just want to get started, I recommend sticking with the more well known and established cryptocurrencies. I suggest diversifying by buying some Bitcoin and a couple of altcoins but choose altcoins in or near the top 10 in market cap. Also, it’s best to do a little research on any coins or tokens you plan to buy.
I think before investing in any altcoins he must learn some basic things in crypto trading and he must understand what all difficulties he will face in future. we will advise some good altcoins but if anything goes wrong he must handle that situation.
