Personally, the best altcoins to invest in 2018 are Ethereum, Litecoin, Neo and Waves.

If you look at the growth of the marketcap of the entire eco system it is steadily going up. Its up about 20 billion dollars since last night. I think Iota and cardano have a lot of potential based on technology alone but your best (safest) bet would be to spread your money out over 15-20 coins and ride the whole thing up. I am pretty new to this but started with bitcoin about 6 months ago. I got into ripple and cardano for a while but bitcoin outperformed them for a couple months straight and I ended up selling ripple around .27 and cardano around .10. I'm kicking myself right now. Today about half my money is in cardano and the rest spread out over 10 or so coins. I sell green ones to buy red and only pick from top 30. I'm not a tree hugger or anything but I don't like how much electricity bitcoin consumes. I live in Iowa and it seems like we used to be ass deep in snow trick or treating as a kid. Now were lucky if we get a dusting by Christmas. For this reason I support less energy intensive proof of stake coins like cardano. And remember, its still in the bootstrap era and has seen impressive growth, once it gets to the reward stage a lot of people are going to want to be involved in it. I like how they go out of their way to make sure everything is legit, from legal compliance to peer reviewed code. Also it can be upgraded without the need for hard forks.

I am still new to this and this is where my heads at so constructive criticism would be appreciated. I'm no professional but I am up about 400% from where I started

Honestly.. a bet on WAVES both BEFORE and AFTER 2018 isn't looking too bad right now..

And ethereum will be really good investment. This new website where we can get ethereum from kitty farm causes growth price this coin. In my opinion it will be the most popular coin for next year

What about Zcoin guys, look at it's total supply and the growpotential it has..., it's in te top 100 and rising, maybe it will surpass Dash soon. (if it reaches the top 50 and get alot more attention)

My take on this is:

Spectrecoin (XSPEC), thanks to its advanced anonymity will do great

Xtrabyte (XBY), in my opinion crypto 3.0 (10000 TPS), PoSign instead op PoW or Pos, STATIC nodes will be operational in the first half of the year, own exchange, datastorage, ...

Neo (NEO), a lot of new projected related to neo are expected next year

Electroneum (ETN), big community, mobile mining, iOS app due to be released

You could do this but why put small amounts in alot of coins when you could put larger amounts in maybe 2-4 coins? You want to have a lot of a coin when it goes 10x not pennies...but thats just me.

I agree you could be throwing darts and probably make ROI, the altcoin market is so different now then it was in 2014 2015. This bull market could really just be getting started, seems like everyday there is 10 billion or more flooding into these markets.

Don't narrow your interest in just the top 20 coins, there are hidden gems in the top 200 still. Broaden your investment range.

ACOIN will shine in 2018 finally breaking into the multi million marketcap range...

ACOIN made a new All Time High once again! Hit $0.265 giving it a marketcap of about $325,000! The Marketcap is still SUPER LOW which will leave plenty of room for easy profit. Don't wait.

Currently, there are dozens of promising coins, however, i still choose  to invest/hold ETH and XRP.
I believe, both are the best coins to invest for 2018.
Though there is a liminal quality to the coins I held now, there may be great potential in both.

You will be amazed if you know that, Bitcoin and ETH are not fasted development in 2017. The answer is Ripple with 7000% growth in 2017. Therefore, that is certainly my choice in 2018

I think Ethereum is the best altcoin after Bitcoin. It has the same adoption if not more...

Maybe high TX projects and PoS projects (NEO, OMG, Zilliqa etc) will perform well too in 2018
