My favourite was Batman - The Animated Series. Cartoon from the 90. Such classy show. Sad There is nothing like that now. Speaking of western animation of course.

South Park, Family Guy and the Simpsons Smiley

I was just about to ask how no one has mentioned South Park yet, so I'm glad someone else finally said it Tongue

South Park is my absolute favorite. Futurama is probably second, and then maybe the earlier seasons of American Dad.

On a side note, since I saw Duck Tales mentioned: how is it that I've never seen that show before (to my recollection), and yet I know how to sing the theme song? o.O

While I do love Tom & Jerry and Ducktales, my fondest childhood memories are Transoformers, Voltron, and basic Looney Toones.  Muppet babbies was good too.

When I was older I liked Animaniacs - the adult humor in there wasn't very hidden  Tongue

Death note

I'd say for 2/3rds of it, yeah, one of the best cartoons ever made. Those who have seen it know why I said 2/3rds.

A lot of anime probably would be considered the best cartoons ever -- I'd rank Bebop and Hellsing up there, but if going with traditional american animation, I'm sort of partial to the Flintstones. It's more or less the Honeymooners in cartoon form, at least for the earlier seasons.

Make your case.

I'll open the floor by suggesting that nothing parallels the comedic genius that was SpongeBob Squarepants before the entire staff retired after the movie. So basically seasons 1-3.

But you don't have to limit yourself to the genre of comedy!

Does it have to be cartoon , because they are kind of outdated , now Anime its much more funny/graphical/etc then cartoons.
