You have to understand that people make mistakes here a lot. Why? Because nobody really knows what coins will score high. These are all just guesses primarily based on price charts, announcements and advertisements. You should go on coinmarketcap.com and decide for yourself. I think now is great time to buy IOTA, I just bought some yesterday, but I wouldn't risk too much money on such a project. Btc is really expensive but it's true it always grows in price eventually, so maybe most of people in this thread are right when they advice you to invest in it.

Thousand dollar is big investment and you should be careful in choosing the coin.
First advice is, don't put your thousand bucks straight into one single coin but make it divided investment into at least ten different coin. Or you ca also put more money on the project you trust a lot. I'm currently seeing a good opportunity with the following coins:
1) JDS coin
2) Social Coin
3) Kickico
4) WIC coin
These are top four coins for me and I would suggest you to focus more on top three coins that I have mentioned if you want to put most of the money in them. I'm sure these ICO will be very successful and the returns are off the charts. :-)
if I really had to buy right now only 3 crypto, I think I would buy
LTC for the long term, ETH to participate in ICO and TAAS to obtain dividends each quarter !!

Stick with the basics if you're new, BTC and ETH are relatively stable and are good long term bets. After you learn the ropes, then branch out.
Now you can buy NVA coin that coin it's increased well and The in batching -USD not big difference

I Think it is better to search for the market by yourself. Check out the trend of different coins in past few months and if the price of a coin is continuously going down then buy that because it will surely pump in a month.i will go for ETH, XRP if I have that much money.

Best idea is probably to start with btc and see how other alts compare to it daily. To start with keep to the well-known alts as they will always be in demand and sellable. Bitcoin has gone from $1000 to almost $5000 in less than a year. Litecoin has gone from $4 to over $70 in same time so it is not just bitcoin that has gained.
My advise is to do research and actually read up on ICO material (website, whitepaper, roadmaps, etc.).
But anyway, my top 3 in order of importance are the following:
1. ETH - Ethereum
2. SIA - Siacoin
3. OMG - OmiseGo

You can try to put your money in this time because we are already in the correction and i think this is the best time if the next week the price already bounced again to the moon. I think for the next week should be considered as not a good time to invest in the crypto.

Indeed the BTC is the safest investments for the long term, but you should wait and see for a few days before buying BTC. I think, buy BTC just for the short term only at this time, you buy now and sell it when you're profitable.

Safest bet would be BTC. If you want to invest for a long time, then bitcoin is the best option you have since BTC is showing no signs of stopping.
