Command and Conquer - Red Alert    My best online ranking was 8th in the world. True story. But I also played for almost 13 hrs straight. By the time
I woke up about 4 hrs later I was off the leaderboard. LOL

Also River City Ransom for original Nintendo
Red alert was also a really cool game played this one always lab with mates.
In our old school games Red Alert was the good one.

UFO: Enemy Unknown  (a.k.a. X-COM: UFO Defense) 1994
HoMM 3

Yeah, that was quite exciting 22 years ago. I modified some things of X-Com in the Hex-Editor, what was quite fun.

Also I have played a lot, 2 years later: Command & Conquer Red Alert. That was good game.

We must be from the same era. I to played the crap out of X-Com

In the past I played Dungeon Keeper on of the best games all time. There was a remake of the game on mobile devices butt that version was terrible.

I would say Mario is gold when it comes to old school games. It's so good that when someone thinks of old school gaming they immediately picture Mario.
It was the pioneer of modern-day games in my opinion.
