After I read this thread I decided to follow Joca and ajaxmoor. I hope we can win together.

nice Cheesy d say Ajaxmoor is getting pretty good at dishing out tips too Cheesy good to see the thread is showing the talents of our tipsters Cheesy

I didn't like their bets. Too easy to predict or wrong predictions overall. I'm sure they are cheating in their win-lose rates.

I have no reasons to beleive their stats are fake. Specially because most users are happy with their predictions. Anyway I believe they will join the Tipster competition, and since it's free hope to see you there to!

That's how it works. Tips don't have to be 100% accurate as long as people are willing to use them. Its all about the demand.

well the prixxe pot could be funded by us bitcointalk members as we do use the tips so it would be a way of giving back a bit Cheesy

man a you serious?! It's a shame how "generous" are members of bitcointalk..... I wouldn't even dare to mention that ......ridiculous

Yeah I don't think you will find 100 members in here to pledge .01 each to get that 1 btc prize fund. People around here tend to look after the last satoshi or they will feel like getting swindled  Cool

Well as you all know sportsdirect.eu already agreed to sponsor our competition, so don't worry. Anyway directbet.eu will still place an address so that users can place tips, and whatever is there at the end of the competition will be added to the already guarateed prizes.

Bets during the competition will be posted before the event starts, meaning that anyone followinf the competition can follow those bets if they want and if things go well , can get a profit from them.

So it would be normal that the ones in profit could donate a % of their profit to that address.

Anyway like I said, the 1BTC in prizes is guaranted by directbet.eu, the rest will be just an added bonus to the winner.

So this is actually going to 'be a thing'. It's actually going to happen. Cool, it's kind of exciting to see the best tipsters on bitcointalk.org competing against each other to be crowned 'king of the tipsters.

It's come at a good time too, I'm enjoying the gambling section of the forum so much more now the football season has started, there's so much more to bet on & talk about to each other. It was kind of boring during the last few months but now we're back to the main stuff Grin

Yes you can all participate, although we might have a limeted number of entries at least for the first month, then if everything goes well we might increase the prizes and number or participants.

The rules of the competition will be announced later today as well as prizes!
A new thread will be created to manage entries, and I will leave the link here.

I understand what you are saying about types of sports etc, but this will be a competition about sports betting, so everyone will feel comfortable on their type of sport and the goal of every tipster is to make profit with their bets, so the one with most % profit will win, it seems fair to me.

I'm also glad to announce that we manage to get a sponsor!

Perhaps the rule can make it into few category. Like the best for football, the best for tennis and the best for basketball so that everyone is not at disadvantage because of this. Can I join this one is I dont provide tips before? or is this only for tipster around here ?

I think everybody can participate. You don't need to be old here to give tips.

Well not a bad plan but you'd have to find tipsters who provide tips on same sports to be fair, I don't think one person providing tips for football and other for tennis should be put in same competition but all in all it will be good to see how well they perform in a month. The US Open starts from next month and if you can set this up by then, it'll be great.

I think majority here is giving football bets mostly. That challenge works best for this kind of competition.

I'm the only man in the forum who does not understand why follow a tipster, specially payment tipster?
If the tipster is sure of his tip, why sell for low satoshi and not bet all his money? Because if lose, don't lose his money ?  Grin

Maybe some of them they think they are more respected if they are paid for their tips, even when that payment isn't so big.  Roll Eyes

When it comes to best tipsters on the forum, besides those football ones that you alreday mention, I've started to respect Tavarez (topic: tennis bets on Fairlay - Winnings: over 1 BTC ) when it comes to tennis tips as he is constant for more than half a year and always has links to his bets on Fairlay so he always offers proof that he put his money as well on those bets.

Yes I'm aware of that, already informed him of the plans for this competition, and hope he joins when we start.

As for updates:
1- I think I'm very close to get us a sponsor, I will confirm when it is official
2- The rules are being planned and I will post them here when I get to a "final" idea, and then I will still be open for suggestions of course.

Stay tuned, I think we are really going forward with this!

Who will be keeping track of all the participants though? Are you going to manage the entries?

Yes, when it's all set a new thread will be created explaning the rules of the competition and announcing the prizes. Then players may express their will to join. When it starts I will manage the competition aided by a friend that is also a user in the forum (u9y42).

Exactly this. Only real tipsters give their tips for free. That's why it's called "tip". If you like his "tip" you give him a "tip". Paid tipsters are fakes.
