Is very hard write rules for a competition for the best tipster, more have bet with odds low 1.3, more have only up 2, more have parlay, more have 2-3 bet a week, other 10, ecc
Very nice Idea, but I think one month is not enough to find a good tipster, some months, some tipsters face losing streak, so I think its better to catch a good tipster in 6 months time. Also must have restriction on odds, number of tips per month etc.
I understand what you are saying, but it will be a competition with prizes, so I think that 6 months would be to much. The objective if everything goes well is to make more than one, like every month.
As for the restriction on the odds I'm not sure if it should be made, as I would like to offer freedom for the tipsters to make the bets they way they want. That's why the prize should be on the % ROI and not the net winings of their bets. And yes to decrease the luck factor a minimum number of bets for the month would have to take place, to avoid someone to place and win a bet with odds of 5 and then just relax and wait for the end of the competition. I thought that a minimum of 12 bets for the duration of the competition would be enough.
All this is being discussed so fell free to share your thoughts.

There are several reasoning behind this. Some may like to showcase his skill in predicting the outcome of the match and some may want to seek for another BTC to bet but moreover this is about getting risk-free profit though this question is almost the same with those that has been constantly asked to the cloudmining provider

Some tipster bet using their own tips as you can check some of these tipster actually provide a bet slip to show that they are actually betting with it but some are looking for a risk-free profit thus only spitting out tips from an empty air and hope for the best that someone may purchase their picks or use their affiliate link

I think the idea is to run it continuously but there'll be a 'tipster of the month' competition ever month. You can always add up after 1 year who won the most monthly awards to find out the best tipster overall. But I think people are wanting to make them compete monthly. I think it's more fun that way.

As you can see by my rank I'm new here so although I'm trying to inform the tipsters I see in the forum, I don't know everyone, so please fell free to inform them by showing them this thread, as they will have nothing to lose.

Yeah MMA Junkies tips are always on point. Also magicmexican has solid esports bets as well. There are sites like OLBG and Betting expert where there are monthly and annual tipster competitions with prizes for the top spots. It would be great to have something like this with bitcoin here.

Nice to see that you are interested.
I will ask in the major sportsbook sites, if they are interested in becoming a sponsor. What are the sites you guys think I should try?
I think I will start with directbet.eu and if they don't do it I will try some others. Anyway if we don't get a sponsor, we can still go with the donations, but we still need someone trusted to receive them. (or at least someone with escrow maybe?)

Well, instead of requiring sites to get in and get involved, players could 'commit' to use the referral links of the winning tipster of the month.
Each tipster could just submit their referral link, and the winning one would be displayed on the top.
The top tipster would be determined, obviously, by amount of winnings.
Only question is, would the referral link bonus be significant enough.

Maybe somebody could create a spreadsheet detailing the 'tipster of the month' every month starting now or Monday 17 August, whatever.
That's the only way we can fairly judge all the tipsters from now. No point looking at their past records. They might have been crap when they started & much improved now. We'd be judging them from now so wouldn't make sense to go back looking at their records, months & maybe even years ago.
We should totally have a tipster of the month tag on this forum. I'm just informing everybody right now that I'm too lazy & am not willing to set up a spreadsheet following their form & work out success %. I'd be very interested in looking at the scores monthly though if somebody else could be bothered to do it.

I think that part is really easy. Yes no point in seeing past records, that would not be a competition.
I think the best way is something like this:
- Tipsters would post in the monthly thread saying that they want to enroll in the competition for that month.
- The competition would have a specific day to start, after that day, tipsters would post on the competition thread their pick and the ammount they bet. They would have to provide the link confirming that it was a real bet and not an hipotetical one.
- A record of those bets would be stored and updated in the thread, so everyone could easily see how the competition was going.
- At the end of the month, depending the number of tipsters that enrolled, prizes would be paid for the top3 or something like that (like I said it would depend on the number of tipsters that enrolled).
- To be fair we should consider the % ROI and not the total amount wone, that way everyone could bet the way they feel more confortable.
I still think that the best way to get a prize pool is if the users donate something to it. A sponsor would be great, and if that happened then, all the bets in the competition would have to be made on that site of the sponsor.
