Well, instead of requiring sites to get in and get involved, players could 'commit' to use the referral links of the winning tipster of the month.
Each tipster could just submit their referral link, and the winning one would be displayed on the top.
The top tipster would be determined, obviously, by amount of winnings.

Only question is, would the referral link bonus be significant enough.

Best tipster on the forum is Joca with ajaxmoor very close behind in 2nd. It's definitely between those two at the moment with Joca just edging it due to longevity & trust I think.

There are some others that can be good but they're relative noobs in the tipping scene at the moment.

I agree!

When I thought about this I thought that everyone could enter. Maybe there will have to be a minimum bets, so it could not be exploited by luck. But all those things would be adjusted and discussed before the competition started.

About the sponsors I still think the most reliable options would be the users donating whatever they wanted to the pot, but for that to start we need someone reliable that would not mind to receive the donations and keep them before the competition finishes.

For this to start I think we need 2 things to happen.
1º someone trusted would start receiving donations, and we could update the pot prize so that it could attrack users to the competition.

2º Tipsters start saying if they are interested in participating or not.

After that we can start discussing details I think.

(anyway liek I said this was an idea, and I think it's a good one, but I'm new in the forum so I don't really know how to make it happen, anyone that likes this can help me or take the lead and I will help.)

Its a pretty decent idea but there should be some rules regarding who should be included in this tournament firstly, like in past couple of weeks I have seen some threads of newbie tipsters and I don't follow them all but I feel they're more like opportunists than actual predictors and they give out few free tips in the start and if they get lucky with their guesses they ask to pay for the expert tips and which is why I think only tipsters who are trusted and have spent some time on this forum should be included otherwise it might get abused with people making different accounts to get in.

This is just a suggestion, let's see if you can find some sponsors to start this thing.

Joca97 and ajaxmoor are very good tipsters IMO. They have been here giving out tips for months and have shown a good performance in the mean time.

well the prize pot could be funded by us bitcointalk members as we do use the tips so it would be a way of giving back a bit Cheesy

Yes I totaly agree with that. I'm just starting and I did not follow any tips yet, but I intend to. And I've seen some very popular threads of some tipsters, so yes, the users following the free tips could donate something to the prize pot. I really don't mind doing that, and I still think it would be something good for everyone.

agreed mate by the way Joca is a pretty good tipster and hes been around fopr quite a while Cheesy hes been trustworthy and on many occasions a awesome tipster Cheesy

Yes I've just started following his thread. He is one of the tipsters that I would like to see in a competion like this. I would have no problem that he was the one receiving the donations for the prize pool, even if he entered the competition. I don't really see a collision there.

Anyway if you like the idea maybe you could help promote it. There is no rush, and it's just a thought, but maybe we can speed things up and ask arround to see if the tipsters would be able to join something like this or not.

I mean without them, there is no competion lol

Hi,

I really loved the idea!

The monthly competition seems to be a great idea. As for the prizes, they coould be offered in partnership with some gambling sites! easy pz.

Are you willing to host these monthly competition?

This was just a random thought. The competition itself could be easly done in the forum. A thread should be created and tipsters could post their tips for the competition in that thread, including number of credits invested (all bets should be for real, and not just hipotetical). At the end of the month the tipster with the best % ROI would win (that way it would be fair for everyone I think).

If a gambling site would like to sponsor the torunament, they could add the prizes to the poll, and all bets had to be made on their site.

I think everyone would have something to win with this. But without a gambling site sponsor, I don't know who would pay the prizes. I can't afford it.

Maybe interested members could donate to a trusted member, and after a decent amount was there, we would start the competition.

So the questions are:
Are there any tipsters interested in participating?
Are there gambling sites that would like to sponsor?
Are there any users that would like to donate to the competition?
Is there any trusted user that would receive and track the donations? (maybe use an escrow).

-----This idea is now a real thing-----

Please register in this thread. 1 BTC in prizes!!!
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12172850

-----Registration for the competition is open-----

Hello, I usualy bet on betfair, but they got those license problems, and it's not solved yet so I'm siwtching to btc sportbet. I follow some of my own bets, but I usually follow free tips aswell. I saw a lot of threads with users ofering their tips.

So the question is: who is the best tipster?

Also, what do you think about running a monthly tipster competition?
It would be esier to see the best tipsters, and the best tipsters would get more support (with ref links etc). So it would be a win for everyone. What do you think?

There could even be a prizepool, but I'm not sure how that one would work. It would be great if a sportsbook site would pay the prizes, at the cost of asking for the bets to be all made in their sites, so they could win from this to.

Let me hear your thoughts about this!
