As I know meta mask is very good wallet for putting your altcoin. You have to check this wallet for your altcoin because it is alternative your ethereum wallet. Ethereum wallet is a one kind of wallet that is you can put your any kind of token so I think at the moment meta mask is a another perfect wallet for store your altcoin.

I think all the tokens in the Ico project are currently using standard token erc 20 ethereum, you can also use wallet waves on other tokens, I use Mew and there are my friends who use imtoken, there are lots of wallets that you can use, it all depends on the type of coin.
If we are a talking about erc-20 based altcoins, it would be better to use MyEtherWallet fot it. It is really good wallet with enough security and easy to use.

I'm using 2 of those. There are myetherwallet of course, and also I'm using the waves PC application for storing my waves coins obviously. And I found it really comfortable and intuitive understandable. 
This will depend on what kind of altcoins you want to store. Different platforms have different wallets. For Neo, for example, there is Neon and for Ethereum there is a MEW.
Gatehub hands down. Check it out but you need verify so yeah can be annoying but it is worth it.

I use myetherwallet and everything suits me. Almost all altcoins are ERC-20 tokens. MEW had cases where wallets were hacked, but I think it's the fault of the owners of these wallets.

I recommend you use myetherwallet for ERC20 altcoins because its so easy to use and also secure. Myetherwallet also proven itself in the long run and used by almost altcoin holder

No other wallet is safer than the wallet created by the coin dev/teamOther software wallets such as Jaxx and Exodus can not yet be recommended by me.
