I am going to say an obvious thing again. Try to diversify your funds, dont keep them in a single place of exchange or a wallet.

There is what I’d like to call the Wallet’s Triangle, which is a trilemma of three properties(security, privacy, usability) that are generally considered desirable for a crypto wallet.

So far, the best wallet form that maximizes all the properties is a hardware wallet. I personally use Trezor, but Ledger Nano S is another option.

You can store your ETH, Tokens, ETC, BTC, and many other coins. And both cost less than $100.

Blockchain is the best and safest way to store the bitcoin we have, because all the time I've used blockchain has never had a problem with blockchain, and my bitcoin is safe and transactions are smooth with no problems.

I think, desktop wallet is a good choice. Because desktop wallets are accessed only via your private computer, with personal security keys stored just on that machine. Thus, exposure of your security key online is reduced.

you should keep it on your device like computers and other offline devices you should have a very high security and protection from attacks of some viruses that can attack your device and steal your data.
Having a personal computer is a good way to keep it safely. Don't just log in your account to avoid hackers and scammers. Be careful of sharing your account make sure that they are your trusted one. Device must always kept clean from viruses to avoid circumstances of loosing your bitcoin. Just be careful to where you're going to put your account.

Hi guys
I know this might sound like a newbie question, but Ive not had enough bitcoin to think about putting any in cold storage since Cryptsy ripped me off when they went down Sad
But just lately ive built myself back up a bit, and just need to check my understanding of a creating a cold wallet is correct ? This is what I think was the best way but im not sure Huh

1. Download latest BTC client
2. move to a pc not connected to the internet.
3. Create an address on that PC without internet.
4. Send fund to address created on PC with no internet access.
5. Save keys in safe place Smiley

Also I was wondering if there are any 100% safe third party wallets that enable quick access if needed ?

Sorry if my question has been covered many times, but I just don't want to make a big mistake.

Thanks
Rick

For me the best way to store bitcoin safely is in the bitcoin wallet like hardware wallet, paper wallet and etc. but you must choose better and reliable wallet to keep your private keys and other information that you have.

There are a lot of ways to store your bitcoin safely. You can store it in software wallets and also in the hardware wallets. Hard ware wallets are costly but is the best i think. you should use ledger nano S i think.

In my opinion, using Mutisig wallet will be safer! By to confirm the transaction, we need more than one signature, This will be more secure! Of course, you must keep all private key carefully, if you lose any Private, you lose the ability to use Bitcoin!

first of all choose best hardware wallets such as ledger nano s or trezor or something else and don't keep everything in the same wallet, divided it into two or three based on the amount. in these way if you somehow fall into trouble will not going to lose everything.

I'm not used to using offline wallet or connected to my device because I trust storing bitcoins in storage like blockchain.com, if I save on my computer or device I'm very afraid of getting exposed to viruses.

For the best security, you require cold storage. Cold storage in the blockchain realm simply means a device that is disconnected from the Internet. This is the toughest security measure possible to safeguard any crypto-investment from the prying interests of hackers.

Even if your wallet were to fall into the wrong hands, cold storage solutions offer high-end encryption to deter even the toughest hacks.

There are several cold storage solutions available on the market today. They’re also referred to as hardware wallets.

The best way would be:

1. Boot your computer up with Ubuntu Live CD

2. Create a wallet, encrypt it using a strong password (What is your way to create good passwords that can actually be remembered?). Make sure you do not forget the password.

3. Back up the wallet multiple times (e.g. email+Dropbox).

4. Practice its decryption using Spaced repetition

5. Finally, transfer the bitcoins to the wallet.

Cold storage is best choice for me.
Or another way is:
Download btc wallet for PC, then make 2 back up data file and copy into 2 USB, then put them into 2 safe place.
There are two choice if i were you.

the best way to get your bitcoin safe is to make sure 2fa sure is that it's not just as easy as any bitcoin to steal and most of the sellers 2fa really puts in order not to just hack your wallet and get your bitcoin

2fa is really helpful to secure your wallet and your account. because I've experienced an incident where the hacker has my account password on the exchange site and they try to login. visible from notification in my email. but then hindered login by the sms verification to enter into my account. very grateful that i'm using 2fa
