Buffalo Bills vs Kansas City Chiefs Analysis and PredictionBuffalo Bills (13-3)
Coach: Sean McDermott (38-26 regular season, 2-2 postseason)
McDermott arrive in Buffalo in 2017 and has really changed the team’s culture. Before his arrival the Bills had not made the playoffs since 1999; McDermott has made it in 3 of 4 years. If he is able to take this team to the Super bowl he will be a Bills legend for life
Offense: After a couple years of ridicule, 3rd year quarterback Josh Allen has really been able to silence all his critics. He has led the bills to the 2nd highest scoring offense during the regular season. Allen’s stats have been off the charts and he ranks in the top 5 in yards, TDs, and QBR. His main target has been Stefon Diggs who had a 1500 yard season and ranked 1st in the league in both receptions and yards. The rushing attack hasn’t been as good as it has been in the past but it is still formidable especially with the extra threat that Allen provides.
Defense: For years the Bills have been carried by a formidable and strong defense. It took a bit of a step back this year as it ranked in the middle of the league for a lot of statistical categories. There is still a lot of talent on this team and they have played fairly well in the playoffs as they have given up 27 points total in 2 games. They will need to have a very good game to slow down this potent Chiefs offense
Kansas City Chiefs (14-2)
Coach: Andy Reid (221-130-1 regular season, 16-14 postseason)
Andy Reid has been one of the better head coaches in the NFL since his debut in 1999. He has had a lot of good teams that have made good runs in the playoffs but always seemed to come up a little bit short in the big games. Last year that changed and he finally won his Super bowl. He’ll be looking to win it 2 years in a row and if he does he will be in Chiefs lore to the end of time.
Offense:
The Kansas City chiefs have one of the best and most explosive offense in the league. They are led by MVP and superbowl winning QB Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes has been tremendous this season as he ranked in the top 5 in yards, TD, QBR, and will most likely finish runner up to Aaron Rodgers in the MVP voting. He is blessed with weapons everywhere and in particular with TE Travis Kelce and WR Tyreek Hill. Kelce has put up unprecedented numbers at TE and finished second in NFL in receiving yards. Hill is no slouch either as he has tremendous speed and ranks in the top 10 in the league in yards himself. The rushing attack is average but is still very dangerous.
Defense:
For a while the defense seemed to be the team Achilles heel. The defense has improved over the years and is actually to the point that it is fairly reliable. They’ll need to have a great game to slow down the 3rd year QB Josh Allen.
Prediction: I really like how this Bills team is playing. I think they are well balanced and well coached and will do enough to pull out the victory. Bills 27 Chiefs 24
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Green Bay Packers Analysis and PredictionTampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5)
Coach: Bruce Arians (74-47-1 regular season, 3-2 postseason)
Arians is an older coach that had to put in his dues to be where he is at today. He is an extremely aggressive coach that his players love to play for. He has turned the bucs around in 2 years and will be looking to win his first superbowl as a head coach.
Offense:
The Buccaneers are absolutely loaded with big names on offense. To start, they are led by Hall of famer and most likely the GOAT QB in Tom Brady. Tom Brady in his age 43 season is doing just unprecedented things. He ranked in the top 3 in passing yards and touchdowns. He is known for his post season heroics as he has made it to 9 super bowls, winning 6 of them. His experience will be invaluable for the team to lean on and if he is able to lead this team, it will only cement his status as the best ever. He has weapons everywhere at WR/TE in Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski, and Antonio Brown. Each of those players at 1 time or another were top 5 in various statistics. The running attack is solid as well with a great 1-2 punch in Ronald Jones II and Leonard Fournette.
Defense:
The defense has been a real positive for the team this year. They ranked in the top 10 in a lot of categories. One place they specialized in was causing turnovers as they ranked in the top 5 during the regular season. That was on full display against the Saints as causing turnovers is what won them the game comfortably.
Green Bay Packers (13-3)
Coach: Matt LaFleur (26-6 regular season, 2-1 postseason)
Matt LaFleur is off to just a tremendous start to his Green Bay Packers career as he has had back to back NFC Championship game appearances. He has changed the team completely since the stale last few years of Mike McCarthy and has his team in great position to make the super bowl.
Offense:
This Green Bay Packers offense is absolutely loaded and led the league in points scored during the regular season. It is led by MVP Aaron Rodgers who may have had his best season yet at age 37. He ranked first the in league in TD, fewest INT, and overall QBR rating. He has looked extremely calm in his 2nd year in LaFleurs offense and just seems completely unstoppable. His top WR is Davante Adams who may just be the best WR in the NFL. They have a great connection especially in the redzone as Adams led the league in TD catches with 18. Another emerging threat for them at TE has been Robert Tonyan who has come out of absolutely nowhere. Like Adams, he has a knack for catching TDs as he added 11TDs of his own during the regular season. The rushing attack is led by Aaron Jones but is supplemented with two other good RBs in Jamaal Williams and AJ Dillon. They keep each other fresh and really push each other to succeed. Another strength is their offensive line even with the injury of Bakhtiari. They completely dominated the #1 ranked defense in the Rams last week.
Defense:
The defense has always been the Achilles heel of the Packers especially in the playoffs. While it struggled early in the year, the defense is really starting to play pretty well. It is led by top CB Jaire Alexander who has absolutely shutdown the other teams WR. The pass rush has also been improved with the emergence of Za’Darius Smith and Rashan Gary. They will need to put Brady under pressure in order to slow down this Tampa offense.
Prediction: I think the Packers are playing too well right now and have a great homefield advantage even with only 8,000 fans. Packers win comfortably. Packers 31 Tampa 20
