Toney is an option for me only for the period from GW33-GW37 - where I'll almost certainly take him, especially if Brentford will be fighting for survival.

You can't wait that long. Solanke has a very good run of fixtures then and by that time, Haaland should also be back - there will be no room in your squad for Toney then if you play a 3-5-2 and also want to have Salah/Son/Saka/Trent etc.

Just check Brentford's fixtures. If it's only for 1 game - maybe makes sense. But after that they have Spurs, City, Liverpool, Wolves, WH, Chelsea and Arsenal.

I decided to use wildcard finally after Alexander Arnold also got injured. If I make 4 transfers together with my 2 free transfer rights after AFCON I think that I can get away with -8 points. The African cup ruined my order which was going on nicely this season. After Palmer and Saka's bad performances in the last match I'm thinking of adding Toney to my squad and making him the captain. However this would be a very risky move.

Also, Ivan Toney isn't allowed to play until GW 21 against Nottingham Forest.

You know we are now in GW21 and they are playing against NFO?

Toney is interesting one, I would be tempted on WC but definitely not as regular transfer. It is not like he has been injured, he had a big holiday and trained during that time. With Mbuemo injured I am thinking he is playing 90 min from get go. Also has penalties.

He already played a game for reserve squad and scored 3 goals so it seems he should be in ok form.

Are you aware that this would be your last Wild card for this season? Majority of managers are of the opinion that you should only use your wild card unless you're absolutely sure you've no other choices. In the first half of the season, I used my wild card unnecessarily and when the time came to really use it (half of team with either injuries and suspended) so it costs me points for that week.

Also, Ivan Toney isn't allowed to play until GW 21 against Nottingham Forest.

I'm gonna captain Saka as well. Palmer looks like a decent option too, but I wached Chelsea in the EPL Cup semi and it made me wanna sell all Chelsea players - so I won't pick him.
My only other options are Watkins and Sterling - so Saka seems like the best choice.

Haaland will be my first captain of course - he might still make it.

Question - what happens if for some reason Saka does not play too and both of my captains are out? I mean, I guess I play without a captain - but doesn't hurt to ask.

I agree that Palmer was awful in their FA cup clash against Middlesbrough but did you watch Saka against Liverpool in the FA cup? His performance was more or less like Palmer — although I'd agree than Palmer's misses were disappointing and cost his team that loss. Saka and Arsenal aren't at their best now so you should keep that in mind.

About your question about captaincy, here's an excerpt from FPL rules:

Quote
If both captain and vice-captain play 0 minutes in a Gameweek, then no player's score will be doubled.

Does that still apply even after confirming or authenticating your negative point transfer in a first instance before going for a second instance where you then apply the WC.
Any game week that you make use your WC, any and all transfers made prior and after will cover any hits. The week that I decided to use my wildcard, I had like 3 negative transfer hits which prompted me to use it and it cleared all incurred negative points for exceeding free transfer
Per game week huh! I guess that clears things as I had prior ideas on the WC usage.

@NotATether is a terrible captain idea.
Who else are you going to captain? There is actually nobody I trust this week unless we get some new Haaland/Bowen info.

I had captain on Bowen but he is probably out. Haaland still not back, not trusting other City assets against Newcastle away.
Haaland still out, that’s an information I needed but, with the probability factor still there, can’t say more although, it’s truly a tricky captaincy GW.
J. Bowen injury isn’t perceived to be as serious as feared and with them playing against a team like Sheffield United from a home side, you could always expect him to score but, his playing time could be in doubt as Moyes would want to play safe.
Other options might just be Foden for Manchester City or Douglas Luiz. I mean, Everton haven’t been bad but, they’ve got to conceive still.

I'm hardly containing myself not to use my wildcard now. Even though I made transfer in return for -8 points I still have many number of transfers to make for my team. I transferred Bowen but his injury news ruined me completely. Later on I got the news that TAA who has been in my squad for a long time was going to miss at least 2 matches.

Maybe it could be much more sensible to make transfer in return for points after the return from AFCON.

Liverpool without Salah and TAA have no idea where I would go or even if they will do good against in form Bournemouth. Spurs-United is though one to call.

Arsenal against Palace is best fixture and Saka is still the one I trust the most in Arsenal squad. If not him then maybe Palmer against Fulham or Estupinan/Gross against Wolves. We are scraping the barrel this GW.

I don't think it is time for wildcard yet unless you are hit with plethora of injuries. This whole month we have 2 game weeks. Bowen out for three weeks would mean he actually missed one game.

I will probably just bench him and hope he gets back soon. That is why early transfers are bad. Loads of players brought Bowen and TAA this week and now they are out.

I got him as well; I had no idea we'd have a double cup week because I've never made a transfer two weeks before a game week before. I have no idea what to do with him, and with Nkunku out critically ill the only miracle I need now is for Nkunku to recover before the GW. If this happens, I can easily bench Bowen and switch to a 4-4-3 formation.

Salah is still on the bench, which is an easy fix for KBD or money to swiftly get Halaand.

This is the wrong time to use wildcards - you'll want to save it for after Afcon at least. Also I hear that Bowen is out for 3 weeks. Only daredevils should use their wildcards now.

And I am one of them

Looks like everyone will be capping Saka then.

Welcome back, boys and girls!

Why are all the players dropping like flies the past few days? This is one of the worst possible times for to deal with injuries when many people are already moving Salah, Son and Haaland out of their squads.

I bought Bowen in Salah's place early. Now I read so many news such as he got injured. If Bowen isn't able to play this week this will be horrible for me.

A question for Fantasy Football experts. If I use wildcard now will the points I lost on the transfer I made in return for -4 points come back  Huh

Just like @morvillz7z stated here.
The wildcard will remove/wipe out any hits (-4, -8, etc...) you've taken in the current gameweek.

I have a feeling this will be a tricky round for most. I replaced both Son and Salah, but my team looks quite average - especially if Haaland does not start.
Believe me, I’ve been stock on a cross road with this round on what would be my best decision. Having to let this GW21 fly without E. Haaland on my team, since am not sure of him playing and bring him in for GW22 which would be a more reassuring play time or I should just take a -4 points deduction and have him in.
Don’t know but, I mismanaged my free transfer else, I could have easily had this decision fixed.
What do you guys think,
Are we going to see E. Haaland in GW21, do I get to take that point hit or risk not having a player that could easily be the high point earner for the game week on my team.

I went into the season without Haaland, and then bought him 2 or 3 rounds ago expecting he'd be ready. He will now probably miss another game for me - amazing how I've mismanaged this.

Top 5 are in the prizes - without a few silly and obvious mistakes I'd be there easily. But we can all say that I guess, eh?

Friends, given that Bitcoin mixers are now prohibited, I made sure that the total sponsorship fund remained unchanged.

Hey, ICOpress. Thanks for all the work you put in including all the work you do behind the scene to ensure that league goes on as expected. This is my first ever pool and I'm glad to be a part of it because I no longer just watch football but I have the opportunity to participate and engage in our league community.

Well, formally, we as a community fulfilled only half of our obligations, so half of the funds were redirected to Altcointalk. While BC compensated for the missing part of the fund. In fact, I would not have been looking for a new sponsor if the forum admin had not made changes to the rules in which he added a footnote about sponsorship. But I’m glad that I was smart enough to find an alternate airfield in advance.  Roll Eyes

I knew the forum rules would impact the tourney because there are many "don'ts" about mixers and very few "can do". I'm glad to see everything is ironed out now.  Smiley
