Then if no one is against it, then I propose to award the prize to the winner of the first game week (after the international break). Everyone will have the opportunity to rebuild their team as they like, which means that everyone will be in the same conditions.

This is actually a good suggestion but I'd love to have some luck factor involved in this because raffle is pretty interesting.

How about raffleing it up to top 5 by the end of the international break but instead of giving the top 5 equal chance, I'd propose to go with the ticket system. So 1st gets 5 tickets, 2nd gets 4 tickets, 3rd gets 3 tickets, 4th gets 2 and 5th gets 1. Lets have fun with some luck factor there, who knows the 5th place might get it lol .

Anyway, Im fine with whatever the consensus came up to at the end  Smiley

I like the idea of rewarding skill and missing with a bit of luck too, that sound fair enough imo too, but as some others have pointed to maximize the importance and keep the league fun until the end, I'd the tickets are issued out at the end of the campaign, regardless of whether it's a month or a week play, anyone can literally play all their chip over the a month period with little or almost no consequences, If are already giving up on the long term, I rather if it were to be as prizes for the winners or raffle tickets of varying numbers it should be for the entirety of the game, that's where everyone gets a fair chance with respect to their skills, each person playing had the intention to play for the prize to begin if those that get to use their chip had certain goals insight.

That said, It's the OP's call and I'm down with whatever the call is, because I wasn't even expecting that we'd get to have a say in how they should go about choosing the winner(s)

You are right, those without WC and triple captain have no chance; the best option would be to raffle it among the top 5 or all participants. Or we do it the FPL manager of the week way, which means that users who use WC, triple captain, or any other chips will be disqualified. That's understandable.
Don't think that is true. Manger of the week counts all the chips as valid as well as minus points.

We could also do it for the whole month. That is officially counted by the FPL site and it offsets luck and chips in some way. There would still be a possibility to pull let's say triple captain and gain advantage, it would be way smaller spread out over 4 match days instead of one.

You may want to out my light to this.

Eligibility for FPL weekly/monthly prize
As one of those shitty positioned players, I'm happy to go with whatever's the consensus on above, I will consider this performance as an excuse to learn more about FPL, though I can see I'm out of my depth Wink

Must consider taking some - points risk too, I think!

Haha, I'm trying not to laugh.  Grin

Well I still have Kane in my team I almost gave up on him after GW1 i Still can't explain how i missed two free transfers when I still have two injured players in my team. I'm surprised I' still in the top 10 after a woeful weekend.
Kane is actually quite great this season, he has attacking returns constantly and if there wasn't Haaland, Kane would be probably best asset in the game. As it stands, Haaland created some new standards in PL and it is difficult to fit 2 premium strikers in our squads.

Anybody watched Newcastle game? Wasn't impressed by Isac at all, he got nice return by converting penalty, but he looked quite out of the game. Should be a bit better when Saint-Maximin comes back and takes a lot of opponent defense players attention on himself.

It's terrible to have left Haaland out thinking he'd not be used to often at the start (or get injured early, like he normally does) and then see everything and everyone before him lose out for not including him.

It does suck especially when you do choose actually good guys (Jesus being mine) but they're so cheap they're also in the Haaland capt'n squads!

I watched Isak and yeah, he did get his debut goal against us, but man he is isolated in the current squad. Maximin is a monster, man, I just feel a bit afraid watching him play, he's running himself into the ground each match. Guimaraes another player who hasn't started his season yet, Almiron looks like this is his best season so far and they had some really slick one-touch football on his wing, but end product a bit haha.

And I find myself not really talking Fantasy =D

Webtricks winning the round was just rather coincidental, I strongly doubt he's still checking a team at all, he doesn't even make any transfer and got favored that the blank fixtures was in his favor, he's even already short of the initial 100M budget.
Am still surprised at Webtrick, somehow I never took a second look at the table by the end of Saturday and my focuse was more on those higher than myself on the league table.

It's not entirely a bad suggestion but, its the first time participation for some and the more experienced onces have got an edge while luck might he some way to equate this should it be raffled but, this is a competition. To ensure a high level of competitiveness amongst participants, skills could be sort out for and there is no better way to me than the manager of the week way.

Using the chips should count as a disqualifier since, the cold wallet award is only coming now as an addition and it wasn't prepared for by all from the start. There is a level of fairness there.

That's really a nice, and I sure as hell would love to have my hands on one of 'em especially due to it being customised, it feels way more like an antique and I find them more valuable imo, even if I have to pay for it.

When it comes to luck and raffles, my luck is next to being horrible, so the only way I often believe I might stand a decent chance is if it's for 9/10 of the players, that's why I prefer to compete logically and not depend solely on luck.

Do you mean this international break? If so than it isn't same for everybody, we all have our teams in various states and some have wildcard while some don't.

If you mean first GW after world cup, then it is more or less true and could be the most fair solutions which will only slightly favor players that decide to make teams just for that week instead with the eye for the future. For instance someone with really bad ranking

Same here, I hate it when it is all about luck. My favourite type of contest is something where you have to show the skill and do so over prolonged period of time. Probably why I enjoy playing Fantasy. [...]

Anybody can outscore you in one match day but till the end of seson, quality always finds the way towards top of the table.

Still remember a couple of seasons ago I was doing great and got kicked out of the offical cup by the guy that did not touch his team from GW1. His goal keeper saved 1 or 2 penalties git clean sheet and all the bonus points, and it was some totaly out of the meta option. Maybe even backup keeper, not sure any more.

In fact, webtricks has a trick up his sleeve, besides he has not yet used a single chip (100 points behind the first place after 8 weeks is not so bad).

Thanks. Looks like I am not allowed to join matchday 1. No problem, made my team for the next week. Will send the payment in a couple of days, thanks.
Don't worry at the end of the season, I will add to your total number of points as many points as the pool member who is in last place at the end of the first game week will score. (32 point / min GW1).

By the way, I want to inform you that custom cold wallets will be raffle among the pool participants soon.

anyone noticed that the user with the GW Rank 1 and 123 pts has made 11 transfers so far and took a massive -40 pts from those transfers? i wonder  if i should take some risks too

Being aggressive and taking a few calculated risks/hits here and there is alright, but i would never take for inspiration those weekly high scorers. I mean just look at this dude, he has played every available chip and his overall rank is 8mil+, how many more weeks before he quits? Grin

If you take out the 40 pts and the bench boost points he actually scored fewer points than you this game week, and you have taken just one hit.

Exactly playing the long term game is what makes it rather interesting, but there nothing to play for as the weeks go by it gets even less interesting, I saw you played your wildcard already, I'm sure a of couple would think it's because of the blank week, but I'm sure it's not solely not just about the game week, if it literally was, you'd have  definitely had someone from Tottenham, and you didn't end up with just one player from Arsenal by chance for what could have been expected to be an easier game than Manchester United, the week insight just came as an added incentive because how would you get rid of about ~8 players with just 4 transfer(s) singularly over the next few weeks especially if there are position issue like having just one transfer while trying to get Salah for Haaland, without having to take another irrelevant point hit when the player you're bringing in secondly isn't likely to be getting any point because he's likely to be a bench player.

If there is some game that'd need multiple players to play as a group, I'd definitely put you at the 1st or 2nd on the list of people I'd choose to play as team with rather than against.  Cool

Wow! I thought I was the one to have taken the most risk with -12 at the moment after Igehhh sacrificed -8 points to better his team. -40 points is just so much except your implying that these changes weren't done on a go else, I doubt it would be worth it. That's almost a whole GW's points and a WC would have served better. Still thinking of when it would be the best time to use my WC although, my team looks better as it is.
Talking about risk, loosing -12 points was great risk for me but a risk worth taking aa it earned me the most points in GW7.

Webtricks had 72 points, I'd say both of you are smart enough to get enough players from GW7 games on your team. I believe you should use your WC after the international break because looking at your team, you do not stand a chance when the league resumes fully. I missed the deadline, but I wouldn't have changed much to favor only GW7. My current team is a long-term project, and I will only be forced to take risks if there is an injury concern.

@SmartVirus, I'd say if you took a 12 points hit and still didn't win the round and didn't end up with 12 points more than you'd have had if you only did the two free available transfer, then you actually didn't make any progress towards your total point for the end of the game.

I'd consider my wildcard to have been a waste if at the end of 6 weeks after using it I don't cumulatively end up as one of the user with the most points over that duration, if that span as been my goal to begin with, I know luck has a part to play, but a calculated risk of probability will likely put you no lower than the middle of the pile, than just a terrible luck would put you at the bottom of the pile.

taking risk is needed, but it should be calculated
I entered Son this round, but did not wanted to go that far to fill-in all eleven players to play, and went solid points will only 8 players (most of it from Kane and Son), it was risky to play with 8 players, but -12 points would not get more, and eventually not sure that I would keep all players that would be in for this round

Tarkowski brought 8 points with first clean sheet for Everton this season

He took some risk and got maximum points from it but honestly I doubt that that he is the only one that made that type of risk. Considering that there are some postponed games, there could be alot of people that probably made decent amount of transfer as well but it worked out well for the rank 1 player and not for tons of other players that made that risk as well

I'll probably stick with getting max 4 transfer per GW with the free transfer included though in case if I really have to take a risk

Hindsight is a bitch, everything looks so clear and decisions so logical. My rule of thumb is not to make minus transfers and especially not anything more than -4 which is sometimes inevitable.

That being said I went -12 last week to get 11 players with fixtures and prepare my team for the future. This was a good time to go with multiple transfers since my situation made it almost like sure 2 points more for every transfer made. Meaning I am actually paying just -2 for each transfer making it much more feasible.

Bowen was hands down most dangerous player for West Ham last season which got him big price of 8.5M this year. Then he entered the season very poorly (just like Son) and his price has dropped all the way to 8.1M. Took him in my team since West Ham has a great schedule going forward and I hope his resurgence will start from today's game against Everton.
As someone with a West Ham player (Fornals) on his main team, i think we need to start looking for other alternatives before it's too late, the team is just absolute dogshit, imagine losing to Everton, what a disgrace  :/  international break came in clutch for the Hammers and i'll probably keep Fornals for the next GW, but they're gonna face Wolves, tough side, so i won't get my hopes up

I'm surprised I' still in the top 10 after a woeful weekend.
i noticed that league table positions don't seem to change that much lately, is it gonna be like for the rest of the season? looks like you need to break 100 pts in a GW to climb up the standings ):
