Sorry to say but I'll likely not join, wishing best of luck to all participants though and I may throw in some extras for you guys in the prizepool as I did say I'd put a bounty on my head..
Thanks, that's very generous.  Smiley

Either way, it's very sad that you won't be playing. I was looking forward to playing with you again. Maybe it works at the next tournament. Hopefully more people don't cancel.  Sad

-snip- Do you know how many users join to that tournament? i miss the game that time, but you can count me in for this year.
Judging from the posts here in the thread, we will have around 10-20 participants. Maybe more, but hopefully not less. This was also the number of participants in past bitcointalk poker tournaments.  Smiley

Maybe we should start threads again on the local boards?? Guess not all people look into the gambling space regularly.  Wink

I had never posted this link before (although I'm not sure), in fact there are others...it turns out that stirring dust to get in shape I came across this video.  Smiley
...

That last hand A9 vs 10 10... damn, it was a crazy move, not sure if the A9 was a good one for All-In, I would hold until getting a pair or at least AJ. But at that point of the tournament, the users are tired and only want to finish the game.

Do you know how many users join to that tournament? i miss the game that time, but you can count me in for this year.

To be honest, I didn't ask Betnomi about it. But I'm 99% sure that all accounting, buy-ins are in dollar equivalent (at least it was when I was actively playing poker). In addition, there is also the concept of tournament dollars, so this is another argument in favor of the dollar equivalent.

I also asked Betnomi to add 4 tournaments to the lobby, (tournament details below). And I'll get back to you when I get an answer.

Code:
Time 18.00 CET
Buy-in: $20
Round length: 8 minutes
Stake: 8000 chips
Re-buys: yes

Yes, buy-in on Betnomi is usd based equivalent so yeah better state the buy-in id usd. Anyway, Im not really following this thread but whats the BB stack for the starting chips? are we going to use the previous blinds adjustment as well so pretty sure that would be 3000 BB starting stack or something iirc wasnt it ( or 1500, cant really recall )

Could we start it on 100-200 BB stacks if possible though, just a suggestion but Im cool with whatever gets decided

so i would also be in favor if a rebuy would be possible but as CoinEraser has already mentioned only for a limited time.
i would suggest 45 minutes and after this time would be a rebuy no longer possible - the amount of the rebuy would then also be $20
back to the dollar or bitcoins discussion - icopress told me that the poker interface on betnomi only supports fiat currencies and not crypto (like the free bets) so we would have to send (depending on the BTC price) as much satoshis to our betnomi acc so that at least $20 is available as buyin for the respective tournaments

and one more note about the Icarus card. this card will be distributed/sent to all participants at the final table of each tournament and not only at the last final game as some users here might have thought Wink

which day/s: always sundays
time: 18:00 cet
tournament length: 5 weeks (4 games + 1 final table)
buy-in: 0.001BTC
round length: 8 minutes
stake: 8000 chips
re-buys: yes/no?

point distribution:

I personally don't like re-buys(especially unlimited) that's why I always play KO tourneys. One rebuy should be normal as Yahoo did in the last series.

-snip- Will the tournament have a re-buy option?
That still needs to be clarified.

I would say yes, but only for the first 30 or 60 minutes. Either way, there should be a time limit for the re-buy so that the tournament doesn't run indefinitely. That would be my suggestion.  Smiley

how high should the buy-in be ... would 0.001 be okay for all?
0.005 would be too high for me in general ... that would therefore deter some participants

I think 0.001 is fine for all, not too big and not too small. And I agree with you about the 0.005 buy-ins, that's just too much for some users, we could say isn't a friendly buy-in at all, if the goal is to have the biggest amount of forum users then let's go for 0.001 or even smaller.

Will the tournament have a re-buy option?
Entry of 0.001 BTC is fair for all and I think the only issue for me is the timing being the weekend, as I will be busy throughout the month on weekends but then let's see when the date and time will be on the weekend.
-hopefully, I will be able to work my way around it to take part in this round of the poker tournament as I have missed previous ones due to a lack of poker skills.

i have already listed some points in my second post and provided the relevant information.
what we have not yet talked about is the distribution of points on the respective tournament days... some suggestions?

Thanks for the reminder.

For me buy-ins only one or no rebuys.

-snip- what we have not yet talked about is the distribution of points on the respective tournament days... some suggestions?
My suggestion would be to get points for the first 10 places. 1st place gets 10 points, 2nd place gets 9 points and 10th place gets 1 point. Of course, that's only good if we have at least 15 or more participants. I think that's how it was done in the other poker tournaments.  Smiley

Yes, it was like that before... I guess it can be the same, the top places get more points, and in the end, the first 6/8/9 (depending on the final table size) will get the seat on the final table.

buy-in: 0.001BTC

0.001 is $22.5 at the moment, but we all know that can change. Buy-in is displayed in dollars in my case (or it can be euros, as I remember that needs to be checked upon registration), so it would be easier to set buy-in in dollars, like $20 per game... maybe?!

time: 18:00 cet

Well, this time will be tricky for me... I am not sure how others feel about it, but can we move it to earlier or later?

Actually, I really like the game of poker, especially participating in tournaments, but unfortunately I don't have enough money to join this competition, but I would be happy if I could watch this poker tournament. Those who will play later are forum users.

Sunday sounds great then!  Smiley

What about just setting up some dates and see how many people would be able to join. If almost no one joins, we just set different dates.

Does Betnomi need some time to set everything up, or would it be possible to start in a few weeks?

I would love to start already this sunday! Cheesy

I am actually playing a live event at the Kings Casino this weekend. Some other Bitcoiners there?  Cool

In my opinion, we shouldn't start later than march. As soon as it gets warm, many people will no longer have time.  Smiley

But yes, that is exactly the point that I mean.

Until then there are still many things to clarify like the structure, official dates and much more. I don't even want to know what still has to be clarified in the background between icopress and Betnomi.  Roll Eyes
I just hope that there won't be any major delays there.
