You are completely wrong because it's gambling here and I'm allowed to talk about gambling and write a good and insightful text about it.

In addition, You are clueless about my gambling expertise because I'm as good in gambling, I'm limited at many sport betting sites because of my good betting track record.

Because I know a team can win it by using the records, that's when I jump in and take the underdogs sometimes.

So let me put an example with figures. Say you keep betting on the favorites with odds like 1.20. With a $100 bet using flat betting (i.e., $100 per bet), you would need to win five times in order to get a profit of 100% of your bet. That's really challenging, as there's no guarantee you'll be able to hit five straight wins with those 1.20 odds. Because if simply doing that worked, then most of us wouldn't be saying that it's hard to win in gambling, or in sports betting, for that matter.

Favorites are always best to bet on when it's a team game like basketball or soccer but it may be different when it comes to combat sports because an upset can sometimes happen in the most unexpected pair.

Betting on favorites is one way to go with the better chance of winning but rewards aren't that much and that makes you to bet more.

Compared to the underdogs, your odds are way higher than the favorites and you can bet small with them with a possible multiplier due to the odds that it possess.

I'm for both and it varies from the game and matches that are coming ahead. You don't need to be picky and it depends really on your strategy as well and analysis.

Every gambler has different strategies and we cannot say that one strategy is wrong and the other one is right. Yes, betting on the underdog is a good thinking however, most of the time we will lose in this bet. So it is suggested to bet with less capital, however when we win such bets that we get a handsome amount because the odds for the underdog teams are usually lower.

However betting blindly on underdog teams is also not good, we need to be selective in choosing the matches where the underdog team has such capability that they can do upsets. No need to bet where everyone is sure that a match will be one-sided one.

The thing with football betting is your ability to see beyond the ordinarily eyes, most analyst use their minds eyes to give out possible result that might come out from a game, even betting against the favorite team they support. High odds in every game are mostly a trap, because is likely that it might not go in favour of that high odd, so is better to avoid it and look for a more balanced odd and place your bet, sometimes a win or draw for the home team can go, since we recognize the advantage of the team.

However this home and away advantage doesn't really count for most games. A team with more tactical technique will win an opponent team that lacks those tactics wether home or away, those that watch football will agree with me on that.

Anyway, when it comes to betting, you don't just use one pattern like betting on the favorite or underdog all the time. That's why there are odds to use when analyzing the game. Sometimes you bet on the underdog, and sometimes on the favorites, but what's more important is to try to bet on the right side most of the time so you'll end up profitable.

The op didn't say profit is the main reason we gamble but that we will always want to make profit by winning our games. And this is true even for those that paly for fun winning can't be taken away from the fun as nobody want to be known as a constant loser.


I do bet on the favourite team's in a game after my analysis are done. But for upsets I mainly bet on live games that are ongoing and the few times I have tried that I have been in more profit than have lost. Sometimes, even when my favourite team are losing by a goal to nothing and there's still much time left to play, I just take the risk of betting still in favour of my favourite team  with most of them getting a comeback to win the game eventually. But it's really risky so I bet with a very small amount the odds become high at that time.

I think it depends on the person. But to be fair I don’t think we should be gambling for profit because it takes away the fun and you are most likely to lose some money.

If it’s profit you are in for then it’s better to study the odds and bet on what seems to be a safer bet but if you are loyal and want your own personal favorite team then you can forget about the stats and just bet on it. It does indeed feel better if your favorite team wins especially after a series of losses

I'd choose to bet on underdog, even though the favorite team has a higher chance to win, but gambling is gambling, so it will be 50/50 game. Why I need to take the same risk to win small amount money, when there's an option to bet with the same risk and higher reward.
