Is this sale for chips, boards, or both?

Maybe both soon - for the chip-groupbuy look at this thread:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bfl-chip-groupbuy-275chip-50-btcpaypalsepa-420-sold-0100-batch-4-238052

For the board there will be a big update tomorrow.

Hi Lucko
So for psu, something like a "OCZ 1000W ZX Series fully modular" with 6 PCIe sockets, would power, 6 boards with 8 chips, or 3 boards with 16 chips.
Would there be enough power remaining to drive a cheap motherboard as a host?  or is it better host from another pc.
I also have an android stick pc with BFL software running (I still need a miner to test this) but it looks very low power around 3 watts.
Keith
I don't know that PSU but I think you have enough power... You are using only 12V and and matherboard doesn't need much of that...

One of the best hosts is in my opinion a Raspberry Pi with Minepeon - have a look at it. Cheap and good  Wink

Hi Lucko.

This is my first post on the GB page. Cool

This 16 chip option is sounding nice.
My thoughts are now turning to power supplies, what size /type of psu would this board need? and does anyone supply a PCIe only unit? (one that will work without needing 24 pin connection)

If this board becomes the GB standard I will need 8 more chips. Can you make a guess as to when we need to make this decision?

Keith
24 pin was used to make things easier in test board...(you have 5 and 3,3 V) Production will have PCIe

You will have 8 and 16 chip board... So no need to use 16 if you buy less then 9 chips... For now we are guessing 1:1,5 price and 1:2 size. 8 one PCIe and 110 W and 16 2 PCIe 220W(estimating)... So less then GPUs... I guess that is enough for you to make PSU estimate or you need more data...

Forgot to add. GB discount for 16 chip board is a bit different. 5 for 8 chips and then 2,5 for next 8...

Jalapeño will do some mining over the weekend and then it go to the lab on oscilloscopes... then some new firmwares and some additional power and chips...

EDIT: and some posing to infra-red camera...
Let me know how the photo shoot goes. I'm feeling pretty good about my choice to go with this group, if all goes well I'll be ordering more chips.

As far as I know only Germany for Jalapeño and only because it doesn't not have a German how-to and has also US powerplug added...

But it is interesting that I can't find anyone who has samples received from BFL outside USA...

Customs can be complete a-holes.  I've dealt with US customs enough to know this. :/

Keep hope alive!
