Someone DMed in Telegram asking why her transaction is stuck. Looks like blockchain has not solved the next block for over 6 hours.

It's being looked at,  will have an update as soon as possible.

It appears that our monthly budget is around 13.5MM BBP

With supporting 100 orphans @ $39/orphan/month, and a CURRENT value of $0.000391 - that means that about $10MM of the $13.5MM (or nearly 75%) of the monthly budget is already spoken for.

Now I don't want to drop the supported count any more than we have, but is it reasonable to think that we can keep making advancements on a development/PR budget of only 3.5MM BBP (or about $1400/month)? That seems like barely enough to make a dent in the development, much less the advertising. I'm...very concerned. Let's brainstorm, what can we do?

https://www.biblepay.org/donate/
This will show how much was donated. I think this is a home page type of thing, but I'm not the webmaster.

Did the 2nd widows proposal pass? Not sure why we are sponsoring more charities at this time...

I agree with SVK Noko. It's obvious that the "wait time" needs to be improved. And yes of course the goal should be to have instant/immediate sync and payment if possible. Users/investors LOVE technology that is responsive and easy to use. Users/investors HATE technology that is difficult to use and requires a lot of patience to accomplish the goal.

Most of us aren't devs/programmers, so we can't provide specific instructions on how to fix it. However our job as users/investors is to give honest feedback so developers can develop the solutions.

What we need to work out is options.

Currently we're tied to a few things syncing  (CPID if using multiple projects,  Nightly Superblock, and stake balance/PODC update).

I believe WCG updates the web stats once a day?  This is another limiting factor...  unless someone can find a way to pull real-time stats.

Thanks. I don't know which web stats would need to be updated or if WCG can provide the real-time info needed.

Here's some info on their API that might help to find out what exact data they provide:

I agree we will cross that bridge when we get to it,  the last superblock (79950) funded just under 6.8mil BBP

This actually seems to be updating on biblepay-central.
https://biblepay-central.org/en/proposals/79950/

I'm not sure what the difference between your calculations and the current cost is,  I will try to find out.
I suspect it is due to the pre-payment from the cancelled sponsorships being applied to the remaining?

Also, a suggestion. Something that we used to do periodically was make a big deal about how much money had been donated to charity since inception - I think that's great PR. Can we put a running total on the homepage? One of those things that slowly increases (up until our planned for the month, and resets to actual cumulative amount after each superblock)?

We might also be able to consider a "virtual run / hike" or other virtual event and ask for sponsorships from people in the community, with the proceeds going to our orphans - I'm not sure if we need to be a straight up 501(c)3 for that to work though.

I agree,  we may have to wait a bit till Jaap gets back from vacation but I can see the benefit.

I wrote exactly what is the problem. Waiting times.

Now that you've identified the problem, what do you propose to fix it? You want instant CPID synchronization and immediate PoDC payment?

I wrote one of the reason why you dont have new miners. Its up to dev if he is going to do something with that or not. I dont care a much after all. If dev thinks everything is ok then issue is closed.

2.

I added a new miner. He is getting rewards already. Of course his CPID is synchronized with wallet. But lets take a look what shows https://biblepay-central.org/en/podc/user/2024825/

It shows:

No CPID - wrong, he has already
No Address - wrong, he has one
No next payment - wrong, pool.biblepay.org shows next payment
No podcupdates - not accessible
No history - wrong, he already got a payment

Websites which are not up to date are throwing bad light on BBP. I wrote this here many times.

Solution: keep BBP official (there is a link from biblepay.org) websites up to date or cancel them completely

I think that was a quality site but for some reason it is not maintained anymore. I will talk to the owner and see what's going on. If it continues to be that way I will suggest it be removed from the main BiblePay website.

I'm thinking a web page/service,  compares data in semi-real time and gives you a status report.

Thoughts?   Would you use this,  and/or would it help adoption?

Something that shows where you in the process. Checks for various requirements... If met, green check mark. If not met, red X.

Seems like something that could easily break if not maintained. See what happened to biblepay-central.org with a little bit of neglect.

I think that is a good idea. The Sparc website does the same thing. You put in the CPID, a yellow checkmark appears, and then goes green when approved, or turns into a red X if there's a problem. It works really well because it let's you see the process. Even if it's yellow for a few days, at least you know it's still in progress. Makes waiting easier.

They also have a demo mode, to show the process to a prospective cruncher.

Thinking out loud ....

I don't think the timing is as big an issue as the confirmation things are working ok..

Yeah I think that would be a great idea before the whole process is streamlined.

I'm sorry for calling you a whiner. We all know this is difficult challenge set up BiblePay and distributed computing (BOINC). How to fix is also difficult challenge. If you think of good solution, let me know. I'm sure Rob will appreciate too if you have good idea.
