How on earth does one make a btc deposit to C-CEX? Huh
It says there should be a generate address button, but I can't find it anywhere. Any hints?
I was ready to buy some extra BBP today, but can't find the wallet address on C-CEX...
I think CCEX is on vacation.
Southxchange and Qiex should be working.

I will notify all exchanges tonight of the log spamming issue that hits tomorrow for 24 hours and see if they can reboot the daemons on Saturday.

I put this parameter in my biblepay.conf since my SSD only has 128GB and runs out of room quickly.

I'm all for reliability so whatever time you need to make a very good product, I'm all for it. Thanks for all your hard work and contributions. We appreciate and I'm sure poor children do too!

https://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/18857/how-to-limit-the-debug-log-file-while-running-bitcoind

Add -shrinkdebuglog to the options you use to start bitcoin, or add shrinkdebuglog=1 to your bitcoin.conf.

Every startup, if the log is larger than 1MB, it will shrink it to 200KB.

Just 2 quick questions:

1. Since there was no major upgrade until now I assume there won't be a PODC payout tonight (due to superblock collision), right?

2. What is the current status with BBP under Ubuntu 18? A friend of mine tried to heat-mine on Ubuntu 18 and since there is no PPA version as of yet he tried to build it from source. After some minor tweaks (I think mostly regarding libssl) it worked, but the POW seems to suffer from a memory leak (approx. 10-15 MiB per minute). Has anyone tried to run the BBP client under this operating system? Any hints?

On #1, Yes, we will have to skip PODC payments tonight (in about 50 more blocks) as the monthly superblock is ready to hit.

I'll have to defer to Licht on #2.

Does anybody know when the next mandatory release is coming? If I remember well it is supposed to happen soon.

Good question. It was planned for tomorrow, Friday June 29. Are we still on that schedule Rob?

We're 7 days behind schedule, primarily because when I discovered we couldn't make the 10 day window to warn exchanges, I decided we might as well merge in all the finished github commits up to the end of June.

We're 95% ready in testnet.  We are releasing the final test version now.

Most likely we will give the exchanges a 10 day notice tomorrow and shoot for a July 10th release (roughly).

Southxchange and Qiex should be working.

What Ive learned through trial and error is if you have already clicked the Generate Address button, you can make deposits while they are in limited mode.
But you can only press the generate address button and the withdraw BTC button if they are in full mode.

If anyone sees full mode please let us all know.

Thank you. Moved over to qiex. Alot easier to set up Smiley

Can attest non-arm boincing on unbanked makes your magnitude go to zero for like two weeks...

Will run boinc on wcg just to keep productive and this gdpr mess means no bbp. Hopefully wcg figures it out soon.

Yes, speaking of the GDPR, there is still no update from WCG.

I'll send them an e-mail....

(I left 10 of my servers on WCG and got hosed).

(ANDROID ONLY)

1. Register account on Rosetta@home
2. Install BOINC app and add Rosetta project

cant find new rosetta tasks for android on some phones. are they running out of tasks again?

Yes, they ran out mid-day yesterday.

Rob, can you confirm the limits/requirements of staking unbanked with android?

Are there any? (ie max RAC, or is the payout formula different/less than cpu mining)

There are no limits, except that the user who is unbanked cannot have non-arm RAC.  (Otherwise their magnitude goes to 0).

Just say something like "Biblepay (@biblepay) already there since July 2017. 10% of the blockchain given to efficient charities. 307 children sponsored today."

Yeah, something in these lines would probably be fine. I think that the official go-live-date is actually June 30, 2017. I edited it a bit. Do with it what you want Smiley

"Biblepay (@biblepay) has been around since June 2017. We give 10% of all blockchain-generated coins to efficient charities via a DAO. 300+ children sponsored today."

Actually. I if the June 30 date is correct. We will exist 1 year in two days!

Block 1 was mined on July 23rd.  Checking the Wiki, we had the Launch date correct (although the Release Date needed a correction).

Do we have step by step instructions to Mobile Phone mine?

"I search coin with mining use only smartphone"
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/i-search-coin-with-mining-use-only-smartphone-4489221

I was going to tell this person about BiblePay, but realized I could not find steps

Does this look right?

===

BiblePay Smartphone Mining Guide (Android Only):

1. Register account on Rosetta@home
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/create_account_form.php

2. Install BOINC app and add Rosetta project
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=edu.berkeley.boinc

3. Install Biblepay Wallet app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.biblepaywallet

==

UNBANKED
(no coins required for staking, but account can only mine on smartphones, cant mine with PC)

4. Register on Pool as Unbanked (No Staking Required)
Slide 42 - https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j23cjOYpBH-9XpBSOtjyxbDYS9Vmjtak/view

==

NOT UNBANKED
(staking required, 1-20 BBP coins for each 1 RAC of Rosetta must be present in your wallet to receive research rewards)

4. Add Rosetta account to Wallet, "Distributed Computing" tab
4. a. Get/Buy BBP coins and Send to Wallet for Staking
https://www.reddit.com/r/BiblePay/comments/7nevdg/how_to_get_biblepay_bbp_coins/

NOTE: BOINC only runs when phone is connected to a charger

Seems right. Of course, when you only want to mine with your phone, you're definitely going to use unbanked-mining.

You can find a guide in the powerpoint I made some time ago (there wasn't a mobile wallet then, but for the rest the guide is fine):
https://pool.biblepay.org/Media/Biblepay-General%20Information.pptx

There will also be a guide on the new website (which will hopefully be online in the next couple of days. And I've also asked Licht to add smartphone mining to his guides (copying my guides).

Seems there are some folks making the most of the coin..

CPID: 0504c91dac5d2c4156d2a2dd992bcc8f 32 Blocks ( 15% of 206 blocks) 14959.71883359 bbp earned  Subsidy: 14944
CPID: ce2a54170bfbb9d6354909c801c3f053 32 Blocks ( 15% of 206 blocks) 14886.6996555 bbp earned  Subsidy: 14871
CPID: 6d3cf73125be19efe95f073575990d70 14 Blocks ( 6% of 206 blocks) 6656.12902918 bbp earned  Subsidy: 6647

15% is the highest i've seen thus far. (this is top 3 from the last days worth of blocks)

I almost wonder if #1/#2 are the same person (2 separate CPID's, but similar patterns low RAC consistently low stake)

For perspective, purepool is currently mining 14% of blocks

Is this from Proof of Work (PoW (Heat)) Mining?

Isnt heat mining a bit more dangerous because you have to copy your same wallet.dat to all your machines?
(and then you have to set utxooverride=-1 on all the additional PoW miners so they do not send PODC Updates)
(because in order to PoW mine you still have to do a little Proof of Distributed Computing (PODC (Research)) mining)

==

Rosetta@Home is dominated by BBP and Onii-chan
https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/team_members.php?teamid=15044&sort_by=expavg_credit&offset=0

Yes POBH/Heat Mining..

In theory it is, but someone who has a large mining farm and idle cpu's isn't in much danger.. the fact that they empty the wallets routinely helps (utxo doesn't seem to go above 5-6k).

but really, if you own the heat-mining,  you can affect the network negatively.  I won't assume ill intentions, but when the superblock hits and all POBH mining is in backup mode,  this could lead to trouble.

I wonder if this is why there were so many orphan blocks/mini splits last time?
