The fees are cheap because it is centralized. Also ripple Corp owns more than %60 of the supply and they also own a good amount of the circulating supply. It is unknown how are ripples being distributed without mining there isn't a fair way to do that.
I would also not trust Ripple, this is not for public investment, they owned 60% of the total supply, that's crazy, anytime they can control the price.
A good coin for adoption are those that are not centralized because we are in crypto and those that the founder does not hold a huge amount in the total supply. Ripple maybe profitable now, but going forward, I doubt it will.
