I'm soloing and got this http://pastebin.com/vKyx3Zk9.
Stuck on #4138 for an hour.

edit:
restarted miner and it says:
08:24:36.654499 INFO Blockchain initialized. last block: 4138, d0.h0.m10.s47 time ago, current difficulty: 1212084 but by the logs before, this block was made alot more than 10minutes ago.

I can't get to the latest block.

the daemon detects the lates block correctly but trying to get there, it attempts a reorganize at some point around block 4114 -> 4136 or so, fails and rolls back.

This happens over and over along with error messages about unsigned transactions or something

Is the installation permanently f*cked and I should resync from scratch? Or will that not help?
Whats the best way to try it?

no, we tried that.

We think it's something with the pool config, ie. a network split, not a blockchain split, but the guy who runs it is probably asleep right now. I will post here as soon as I hear back from him. I really don't think it's anything intentional, I think it's a mis-config. Not sure he's done CryptoNote pools before.

Thank you for your patience!

I just sent him this:

In your stats
http://192.99.32.58/
how is it possible that:
--network last block found is older than the pool last block found?
--Every other miner but you is working on an old block.
--You're 5 to 18 blocks ahead of everyone else and gaining more
--other nodes aren't caught up with you.
?

I mean the coin has formed multiple forks.  The pool at http://192.99.32.58/ is on block 4132 but I have multiple daemon instances showing 4129 and those have all been restarted from scratch after deleting all of the blockchain files.
wallet  not fork , mine working fine

Coin looks like it's forked.

Or do you mean "taken over"? 51% attack?

Coin looks like it's forked.

That's not anything we're hiding. Says on FIRST SENTENCE of first page of site that's it's a CryptoNote code base:
https://bipcoin.org/

We did tweak a few things but not much.

If forking is a problem for you, then every single AltCoin is a problem for you. That's over 1000 coins. lol.

Or are you saying someone has forked our coin? If so, please give us a link.

Thank you!

Pool Stats for today

VERY cool.
Thank you for your service!
hey dev is this coin can be mine from my old laptop? just thinking if i can have some coin if i try to do it but i'm not sure if it will burn it since that's an old one. newbie question mate. thanks.

Maybe. If the CLI wallet runs on it, try it. Make sure you put a fan on the computers while mining so they don't burn out. With laptops, prop them up with blocks so air gets under and over. With desktops I put an extra fan inside. Pix of both about 3/4 way down this page:
https://bipcoin.org/?page_id=93

Good luck and let us know please. Either way, if it works or fails, please let us know the computer specs and OS/version.

Diff must be too high or my mining puter just became stupid and cant solve any blocks :/ anyone else hit a dead zone?

difficulty went down to reasonable today. Try mining again. Pool if you can. Though:

Awesome to hear. Ya at this point pool is way more productive for myself.

I'm going to go test various miners with the pool when I have time today and tomorrow and find the best combination of return and ease, then do a tutorial on it.

Will be waiting for the results.

As I said, WAY no time to do this today, but I'm told this miner works GREAT, if not to techy for you:

Wolf Miner:

AES-NI versions:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/wolfs-xmrbcndsh-cpuminer-2x-speed-compared-to-lucasjones-new-06202014-632724

non aes version
https://ottrbutt.com/cpuminer-multi/cpuminer-multi-wolf-06-12-2014.zip

Wolf's CPU Miner is easy. You download and extract it.
Then create a bat file using the command the pool gives you on the getting started page example

minerd -a cryptonight -o stratum+tcp://192.99.32.58:3333 -u YOUR_WALLET_ADDRESS -p x
pause

then save as miner.bat make sure the file type says all files and not txt file,
then click start and it mines away.
NOTE that port in that equation is based on difficulty ability of your hardware:
http://192.99.32.58/#getting_started

and ALL miners will throw up virus warnings. But the bitcointalk trust levels of the people posting those links above on bitcointalk are high.

I've been way too busy on everything else around launching a new coin, so I haven't been testing miners, (it's been an unbelievably busy week!) but someone is working on one-click miners for the pool. Won't be as efficient as say, Wolf miner, but will be way easy, and will work with pool.

my friend got paid 10 BipCoin by the pool today, using minerd, which he compiled from github on a debian VM.

Pool has made a bunch of payouts:

A different friend said today: "successful SOLO mining operation using 3 of my 4 cores today! hashrate 47.
slightly-overclocked, 3.4 GHz AMD quad-core, using BipCoin  windows CLI wallet
got 8.796896550324 (one block)"

Thanks y'all for having some faith in our new little coin. We want this to go all the way to Alpha-Centauri. There are just SO many little and big issues all at once all day every day since before the launch, but especially after. Trying to help everyone, thank you for your patience.

The world is a messed-up place lately, and a breakout dark coin (that's fun!) could go a long way to making things a little bit better.

We'll make this work, and our team is in it for the long haul.

After about 9 hours of mining solo I have a block... so, yeah.  I just let it run while I'm asleep and it goes from there.
