In the PM it might be a good idea to mention to sign up for the newsletter on the site if they haven't. It's probably much easier to use the newsletter for calling in donations?

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending

I wish I had better words than 'thank you so kindly' in cases like this, but I don't, so thank you so kindly, Garr. I'm sure Rassah will split the five coins up accordingly, with one going toward Bund. After posting this reply, I will surely link your name on both list.

Anybody else on the pledge list want their name linked or change, simply let me know.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
Bitcoin 100 is committed to sending the full BTC100 to Bund regardless of who or how much is donated to them via their or BitPay's Bitcoin address.

I have updated the following page, giszmo and jsmithers: http://bitcoin100.org/about/partisans/

I'm going to conduct a quick fund drive via PM. If memory serves me well, a member is only allowed to send 10 Pm's. If that turns out to be the case, luckily I have a couple or so other accounts I can utilize. I'll only be sending PMs to a select few on the list in the OP of this thread.

:/ my intent was to honor my pledge towards BUND myself but in a countable way and not via BitPay which hides the donations from the public. Anyway. Sending 1Ƀ to your address now.

There is a public payment hash on the BUND site now (it was added earlier this week). It's still cleared via Bitpay but public for everyone who wants to do this public - see the top of http://www.bund-berlin.de/bund_berlinde/spenden/bitcoin-spenden/BTC_eng . It's probably the address Bitcoin100 should use to donate as well.

Thank you, jsmithers, for your contribution and providing this post. Here's their address via BlockChain: http://blockchain.info/address/1BboU9QH4kcNeDqdr7xBUZ4GrFgfhNaVBd

I will be adding your name to the list in the OP of this thread as well on the official site.

Great idea! Good work!

Thank you, atl.

pledging 1Ƀ for the BUND Berlin. I would prefer to send it to an anonymous donation address at BUND over using BitPay as theser public anonymous tip jars make the amount public and the organization more transparent but just let me know where to send the coin.

Edit: At this hour the forum is dead. Don't be surprised to get no reply. USA and Europe are sleeping now.

Thanks a lot, giszmo. I will be matching your donation. Nine more to go. Only need 9 people to pledge and they don't even have to donate anything.

I'm not exactly sure what your concern pertaining to what address you want to sent the bitcoin to, but the address in my sig is what's used for Bitcoin 100. I have another option for you, and that's to PM Rassah and he'll provide you an anonymous address to send it to, whereupon he'll keep the transaction uber-private. Perhaps that's what you desire. Whatever you are conformable with will work. I hope I've addressed your address concern.

Thank you for the donation, giszmo, and my apologies for not fully understanding your desires. I'll assume if you still had an issue, you would have pressed it further until you received a satisfactory reply. I will updating the list(s) after I post this reply to reflect yours and Jsmithers donations.

That makes two bitcoins I'm committed to donating toward this cause. Ideally, I would love to see eight more people simply pledge their support toward Bitcoin 100 so that I can contribute the full ten bitcoins. Anybody?

Thanks for the effort you're making here!
I've donated to BUND Berlin directly and I'd be glad to join the pledge for the next projects Bitcoin100 is aquiring! I've just sent 1 BTC now for the next project.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
I bumped the Bund thread in Project Development over an hour ago and the view count went up by four. I'm now bumping this thread to see if I can garner eight views during the same time frame with the hope that a single bitcoin will be donated to support this drive.

I guess it's time to get a little creative. The next 10 people who pledge (they don't have to donate a single coin at this time) their support to Bitcoin 100 in the next let's say 4 hours, I will donate BTC1 toward this drive in their name up to BTC10. To be clear, in the next 4 hours all one has to do is sincerely pledge (only) at least BTC1 to Bitcoin 100, and you can exercise the honoring of said pledge anytime in the future. Second thought, hell with the 4 hour limit. I'll extent it to when we send Bund their BTC100 that they're patiently awaiting.

With that, we still need ~BTC25 more bitcoins to reach our goal of BTC100 if 10 new people pledge their support within the next ~18 hours.

Not sure if you guys are still updating the OP but I did donate another 5 BTC on December the 5th (sent a PM to Rassah with tx id).

Good to see more happening with this!

I am going to address that now, CIYAM. I apologize for the oversight, but I'm prtty sure Rassah has the information correct on his ledger. Thank you so kindly for your BTC5 donation.

Meanwhile, hazek has moved the fund drive thread for Bund to Project Development: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bund-berlin-ev-is-accepting-donations-in-bitcoin-quick-fund-drive-130102

I took the liberty to kindly ask him to move it back to Discussion via a PM, but will respect his decision regardless of his actions. I was goin' to do some more reading, but now I better make sure that the thread wasn't edited during the unexpected move.  Grin (humor at hazek's expense)

~Bruno K~

EDIT: hazek has replied in kind to my PM to him and I fully accept his explanation.

Rassah, it was Akka:

To late to get in? Because I didn't pledge anything.

Do I just donate to the address in you sig?

Edit: Donation sent

I've thanked him on the other thread.

With the updates you gave me, we actually have 63.88189276 bitcoin available to donate now. This includes the 1BTC we just got about half an hour ago (no info on who it's from). In total that comes up to about $856 USD (we also have 8.048BTC sitting in the Ron Paul account, and I have NO idea what to do with that)

BTW, I'd like to point out that I am currently sitting on a pile of 525 BTC, or $7,061.25, including $2,265 USD worth from totally anonymous sources which would be extremely easy to take a chunk of without anyone noticing. Despite that, I've accounted for every Satoshi, and have not scammed anything at all. So, yay for a Bitcoin thing that's not mired in scams. I feel I deserve some OTC ratings for that  Grin

Akka may have donated a half hour ago, but I see no word from him on that. We'll see who fesses up. I'm surprised part of the slush fund hasn't gone to the purchase of a matching coffee table.  Grin That said, why don't we just treat it as an emergency fund, only dipping into it when in dire need, for instance if we are short in reaching the required BTC100 amount. Let's first give this drive another 48 hours starting now and see what we come up with. I'll update the other thread stating that we're short about BTC36 oppose to the ~BTC25 I've already stated.

If there is anyway that the OTC rating can be addressed, I hope somebody here is able to add a note to it. I've not partaken on that site, therefore don't know how to do it. You're probably not too concern about having said inclusion, but it sure would be a nice gesture for all the hard work you'll put into this endeavor without pay. Now, if we were a magazine concern, you and your better half...  Grin

I'm open to suggestions as to what to do with the Ron Paul funds. The first thing that comes to mind is to save it for some next charitable organization that's somehow close to what Ron Paul would contribute to. After this current drive, I'll start a thread opening it up for suggestions.

Thanks for everything, Rassah.

..sent two bitcoins to the 1btc100 adress. One for BUND, one for the next one (or to the half-related project recently, I almost forgot about that one)

Ente

I just wanted to thank you again, Ente, for your donation. Regarding the BTC2 you donated, one is going toward Bund and the other will be allocated to the next charity unless Rassah corrects me.

I've finished updated the list in the OP of this thread and will now add oldschool and coderr's names to the list on the official website.

Sheet is updated: http://goo.gl/Mk3hp

Honored Pledges:   72.29289276 of 155.64130300000002

There was also a 10BTC donation that was done anonymously on 2012-09-28 15:37:54, which I'm not sure if it was supposed to be anonymous (if yes, the entire 10BTC will be donated, if not, I'll need to know whether to split it up among charities). Tx #: bc3a4826916f9dde622ce42764b4a149cf2b288361a0135a64e6ac073e6c87f2

I really need to redo this sheet or move it to some sort of database, though. It's almost impossible to search for transactions with it. In the mean time, Phinn, since you're in charge, it's up to you what you want me to do

The BTC10 was donated by coderrr via a PM. Taxing my memory, I believe it occurred around the time I was forced to take a vacation, thus not updating the OP, inform you, or publicly thank coderrr for his kind donation. Since he didn't stipulate how it was to be used, let's safely assume treating it as we done other donations of this nature in the past--splitting it up between subsequent charities one at a time starting with Bund. The following is his complete PM to me unedited:

just donated 10btc to the bitcoin100

Is it safe to assume, Rassah, that we are currently at BTC72.29289276 (now +1 = BTC73.29289276), thus needing only ~BTC27 to reach the BTC100 goal?

Regarding the accounting aspect I, and hopefully the entire community, have faith in you to decide what is best and easiest on your part to keep track of the donations.

Also, oldschool donated BTC1.411 via a PM to me. I thanked him at the time of the donation, but doing it again publicly: Thanks, oldschool, for your kind donation. Split this up 1.00/.411 (for the next charity). After posting this post, I'm going to update the list in the OP of this thread and add a couple names to the list on the website.

I told you I'd be donating when I got some bitcoins together... well, my first donation of 1.411 is coming your way!

This should take care of the immediate housekeeping.

Once again, thanks to all who are about to donate whatever you can to the current cause--BUND Berlin e.V.

Regards,

~Bruno K~
