Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
I haven't been keeping up with this thread so thanks PG for sending out the PM last night. Below is my contribution to My Refuge House.

http://blockchain.info/tx-index/39487980/3ce6c3193d2708b7794b2ed697bc2a56da43fae27c84a40a72d9a2fff36666db

Thank you, gigavps for your donation. I've updated the list in the OP of this thread reflecting your kind contribution.

And, thanks again, dancupid, for donating once again to Bitcoin 100. My Refuge House seems to be a reputable entity for a wonderful cause.

Here is mine a59f639..., keep up the good work!

I was about to post this post, when I was warned by the system that a new post has been posted. I opted to include another thanks to paraipan for his donation to Mr Refuge House. This should keep Rassah busy for a while.

Conversation overheard at Rassah's home:  Grin

Better Half: How was your day, Rassah?
Rassah: Fine, now get your damn feet off My Precious.

I'm going to take the time now to blast a few more PMs before I have to load a semi with barn wood destined for Utah to be used in construction of a new log home (or maybe just a rustic one) for some notable of which I'm not privy as to whom that may be.

We're still about BTC45 short of having the entire BTC100 promised for My Refuge House.

I believe 2013 will prove to be a breakout success for Bitcoin 100, for I, too, have some tricks up my sleeve, coupled with dedicating more time toward the project because of my 10,000 Post resolution: Act like a professional.

I honestly forgot how heavily my extended family is into charity work.  More charities coming up, but let's try to get 100btc for My Refuge House to give them more motivation to help me spread the word to other charities.  The director thinks it's great so far, but she will definitely want to promote it to other charities when 100btc hits the bank account.  I personally like promoting "Stopping Sex Trafficking", as I think people's attention gets drawn to the word "sex".  Smiley

Bitpay sent an improved checkout button code.  I am very impressed with their customer service speed so far, especially during christmas, and especially for a charity that they make $0 from.

So the links for the "donate" buttons on the website just need to be tweaked to go to the "online giving" page, and it's all set.

Stephen Gornick has honored BTC1 toward My Refuge House, notifying me via a PM. Thank you again, Stephen.

I'm now going to get a fresh cup of coffee and send out some PM's of my own to hopefully garner up some more funds. Not sure if that's how Jerry Lewis ever did it, but...

The bitpay button is working in the "online giving" section:
http://www.myrefugehouse.com/online-giving/

The website will be fixed this week to make all the "donate" buttons go to the page with the paypal and bitcoin donation options.  Also we will get bitpay to give us a button code that is just a button without an ugly text field.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
I just got off the phone with speaking to Seth. He's working with the site's coordinator and BitPay to incorporate the most robust Bitcoin donation options onto their online donation page. The following link is said page that, once completed, will allow people to donation directly, or through BitPay, their Bitcoin donations: http://www.myrefugehouse.com/online-giving/

Please take the time to peruse My Refuge House, and upon doing such, consider donating to Bitcoin 100 in their name so that we can send them their promised BTC100.

This charity will start accepting bitcoin.  We hit up bitpay with an application.  Thanks for pointing out the donate page requires a login.  The site is hosted on wordpress, and the people who set it up aren't around anymore, so if someone knows how to edit this, maybe we can get on teamviewer and fix it.  The "online giving" link goes to a different page than the "donate" buttons on the top and bottom of the site.  We should just make them all go to the one that lists the options with the paypal button.  We just need bitpay to link up their bank account and give us the code to add the bitcoin donation button.  They already have some service that cheaply sends money from a US bank to the Phillippines where it is used.

EDIT:  Ok bitpay says account approved, so I just need some tech guy to remote desktop and add the wordpress bitpay plugin and fix the donate pages so they all go to the same page.

First off, great job Seth!

The site isn't hosting on Wordpress. It's self hosted, using Wordpress as its CMS. That's the good news. The bad news is that they are still using Version 3.1.2, whereas 3.5 is where they should be at. The good news is that it only takes less than a minute to rectify that issue.

Is it safe to assume that somebody has access to the site's Wordpress dashboard? If they do, this is all a relatively easy set. I'm sure I could do it, but not via teamviewer, for I'm not familiar with that, though know what it is. I'll PM you my phone number, and together we'll see what we can do.

Meanwhile, folks, it looks like we another fine non-profit ready to accept donations via Bitcoin. We're currently about BTC50 short, thereby a call for donations is now in effect.

They just have to add a way to accept Bitcoin to their donation page.

Their site requires registration to view the donation options.  This means there's no link that brings you directly to the page showing a bitcoin donation button or submit method.  I'm not sure if that matters, but I just wanted to point that out.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
Hey guys, I'm going out to lunch with the director of http://www.myrefugehouse.com/ in a couple hours.  I've donated a large amount to this charity before so I can probably get them to accept bitcoin.  Can someone update me on the status of bitcoin100 and what the current pitch is?  I am one of the original 100, but I haven't paid attention to what has happened.  If I get them to accept it, will they get 100 bitcoins?

They just have to add a way to accept Bitcoin to their donation page. I'm not sure if they'll get 100 Bitcoin, but there is 49.36284 ready to be donated already.

And we will do everything in our power to bring the grand total up to at least BTC100 ASAP.

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
Dear Bitcoin100 community,

once again: Thank you all for supporting us! We got 16 more BTC from your generous donation activities and now achieved the state, perfectly meshing with your group name: We are now BITCOIN100! :-)

Please let me address some special thanks @Phinnaeus Gage, who pushes Bitcoin100 with his untiringly commitment. Also @Rassah, who, in my external perception, stands for the strictly correct accountancy of your initiative. And last but not least @jsmithers, our personal Bitcoin-consultant, who initially established the contact and who is so kind to post the messages of BUND Berlin e.V. to you.

So, have some nice christmas days and good luck for all the ongoing and coming kickstarter-campaigns!

Thorsten Edler
BUND Berlin e.V.

Speechless! Words can't describe how I feel about Thorsten's kind words. Thank you.

For the Bitcoin community: Did you know that Bund set up a page on their website dedicated entirely to Bitcoin? Take a look: http://www.bund-berlin.de/bund_berlinde/spenden/bitcoin_spenden.html

Just honored my pledge by sending 5 BTC to the Bitcoin 100 vanity address, TX ID: 9955afd2b35b52f8de669b6a747442641d58347f0977a8e577f9073642165da4

Thank you, edd. The list has been updated reflecting this donation, all dedicated to Bund per your wishes.

I want to go on record and state that I will be honoring my BTC5 pledge to Bitcoin 100's pool in the coming days, ~BTC4 of which to be used toward the next non-profit(s).

Now, I'm going to get a little more aggressive with LPA, and I believe Ente is still courting an unnamed non-profit and has been in touch with Tony at BitPay to get some kinks out.

I'm guessing this is to be split between your five entities, with the entire BTC5 going to this charity? Or just 1 out of 5 going to this, and the other 4 ready to use for the next one?

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
With special thanks to Stephen and paybitcoin (125 & 126 on the list), we currently only need 5 more people to pledge their support. When pledging, there is no need to send any bitcoins, for some people may have reservations of the current non-profit that has graciously started accepting Bitcoin as a donation option because of Bitcoin 100 and, moreover, BitPay's efforts, with the dialog initiated by jsmithers.
