I found the below image online, this was exactly 13 years ago when the price of bitcoin was still as good as zero, it is seen on the table that exactly today, being the 6th of October, 2009(13 years ago), with $1, one could purchase BTC1,130.53...
I then tried to calculate what BTC1,130.53 is worth today according to Bitcoin's current market price, and I am indeed overwhelmed.
Makes me kind of asking myself where I was and what was I doing at this time 13 years ago  Huh Huh

How does this make you feel?

EDIT: I found this article too really interesting to read - https://www.cryptodefinance.com/1300btc-worth-1dollar-new-liberty-standard/

no one expected bitcoin to be like this, if i knew bitcoin 13 years ago, i think i am currently enjoying the results of my investment,
but anything can't be repeated so let's take it today for the day after tomorrow and so on until BTC reaches the highest value

I'm a beginner in bitcoin, I didn't expect bitcoin to be so cheap, if I've known bitcoin before, I might have bought a lot of bitcoins. but yes of course it's never too late to buy bitcoin, even though bitcoin is now expensive, but I'm sure in the future the price of bitcoin will be even higher.

If you are a beginner then the first thing you should do is buy a small amount of bitcoins every day or week. Of course it will not be felt on your finances. While it's still in a bear market now, the price of bitcoin may continue to fall for quite a long time. It's never too late for a future adoption and bitcoin is decades old and still exists today.

It still feels sad to me considering I joined early. I couldn't become very very rich even though I made some money through Bitcoin. 2009 feels like dark ages to me now. I was like trying to enter university or something? Now I am white collar officer. Good old days. I wish we all knew Bitcoin back in 2009/2010 and buy many and hold them in some paper wallet to restore right now in 2022 and become rich.
Everyone has the same thought on this and I'm sure everyone also wished they could own bitcoins in their early days. But it was just a fantasy that will not be repeated today. From there it shouldn't do the same thing. I mean maybe today bitcoin looks so expensive for us to own, but let's think in the next 10 years, maybe this narrative will sound back "if 10 years ago I bought bitcoin at 20k". This is very likely to happen.
Absolutely, I hear someone saying that Bitcoin is already expensive
but yes of course it's never too late to buy bitcoin, even though bitcoin is now expensive, but I'm sure in the future the price of bitcoin will be even higher.
but also believe that in the future the price will be higher but some of us still won't buy in, even in sats but we all know this narrative will repeat itself in another 13 years from now when some will say this same thing, I knew when Bitcoin was as LOW as $20k, I could have bought some satoshis then even if I couldn't buy a whole BTC It will always be a revolving circle.

Hi Fivestar4everMVP. Seeing the pictures in your posts makes us speculate with diverse imaginations. If at that time $1 can get 1,130.53 BTC, then $1K can get ± 1,130,000 BTC. However, behind this picture there are many lessons to be learned.

First, Bitcoin is the most valuable asset in the future. If at the time of the complaint a thing went wrong. Second, if anyone still thinks that now is not the right time to buy, then that is also wrong. Moreover, if there are still those who sell because of market conditions that make people afraid of losing money because they have invested in Bitcoin, that is clearly the wrong decision.

Yeah, for sure everyone will be millionaires if we know back then that bitcoin will be huge.

I'm not one of those early birds, but I have witnessed a lot of tweets, seems to be regretting their decision to sell when the price is very low but they didn't believed that it has a future so they sold off. Now they regret their decision, but for sure some of them have been buying ever since and still have their dreams of becoming millionaire in the future.

These are the kinds of reference newbie need to learn from to give them more assurance in investing more with bitcoin over time, there have been no othet best illustration than to take a step back in looking at how it all start from 2009 till date.

Those that are early in it have the pleasure today to enjoy ever making the right decision back then, those i felt sorry for and now regretting their decisions were those that couldn't manage to even hold for long, we all know life is risk, to make it also involves taking a risk but we are all afraid of the risk taking.

Makes me kind of asking myself where I was and what was I doing at this time 13 years ago  Huh Huh

Maybe somewhere in highschool or after seeking admission into a tertiary institutions or propably learning trade  Grin but i can bet you that even you are aware of it then you may probably be among those that will say it's a scam how is it possible, lol.

Many of us feel sad that we didn't join bitcoin in the first place because we didn't know the news or didn't find any info about bitcoin.
It's natural when we regret it but that shouldn't stop us from trying to own bitcoin in many ways because we still have a chance today.
If we just regret without doing anything, we can regret more in the future because we can't have more bitcoins.
So maybe we should give it a go, no matter how long we can have a lot of bitcoins and luckily, we still have that chance.

maybe if i know bitcoin since 13 years ago maybe i will take my savings in the bank to buy more because i believe the technology in bitcoin will grow rapidly and will be valuable, unfortunately i was introduced by my friend in bitcoin in 2016 ago and I joined this forum to get to know more about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, at least I'm not late and hold a little bitcoin in my wallet as a future asset, whoever bought bitcoin in 2009 and then he is the luckiest person and mr satoshi has more much of what we know, over the past 13 years bitcoin has really progressed well

That would be easy for you to say today because you have seen what Bitcoin has become but I guarantee you that 90% of the people that are involved in Bitcoin today wouldn't have given it more attention then as we do now. This is 2009 we are talking about. Take time to read through this post:
12 years ago, we have the story of  Laszlo Hanyecz, who traded his bitcoins for pizza in 2010.
10,000 bitcoins actually for two Papa John's pizzas.

Also in 2011, there was the story of Shiksay “Sziky” Miklos who took 5th place in participating in the AoV iCCup StarLeague tournament and received 25 bitcoins. Then they were valued at $ 41 but decided to collect $40 instead of the 25BTC

So, as Laszlo said "It wasn't like bitcoins had any value back then, so the idea of trading them for a pizza was incredibly cool"

This is why I believed that for most of us, even if we had known about Bitcoin back then, we might not have taken it that seriously because even the first time I was introduced to Bitcoin, I just bought it to pay for a service online but not really paying attention to what Bitcoin could become until a year later before I started investing properly in Bitcoin and this was 2016 when BTC was already above $400.

The thing is this :

13 years ago...... MANY people would not even have touched Bitcoin, because doing that was illegal. At the time... people who created their own "private" currencies were prosecuted and given fines and/or jail time.  Roll Eyes

I entered Bitcoin when the price was just over $200 and it was not legal to own it, so I did not buy any coins at that price. I looked at it as a experimental project that would fail within a couple of months, due to government pressure.

It was only a short time after that, when I eventually read more about the technology and how it was decentralized to protect it.... that I saw the bigger picture and started to buy some coins.  Wink

I know where I was exactly 13 years ago. I was a 12-year-old kid, and I had never heard of Bitcoin at that time. I studied in class six at that time. I don't think I had a mobile device or internet access back then. In class ten, I got my first internet-accessible mobile device. I still didn't hear about Bitcoin. After a year, when I was promoted to college, I found a gambling website and that time, I saw this website supported a currency named Bitcoin. That's how my bitcoin journey started. My first bitcoin wallet was on Blockchain.org. By then, Bitcoin was already over a thousand, maybe, and I hadn't started earning money yet. All I did was claim the faucet and place bets.

We all say we regret not investing in bitcoin at that time but the thing is even if we heard about it then and see you can get so many bitcoins for $1 only then you would have hardly put your money into it but for me I was familiar with it later on and regret comes when the prices increase seeing you could have make more from it.But still you have chance if you can hold for next 10 years then you know about it.

But I really liked how the value was increased within few days that it come down from 1100+ bitcoins to 800+ for $1 in time span of 5 days only.

If I had discovered Bitcoin back in 2009, I probably would have thought that this is some kind of weird scam.
Spending actual dollars for some "magic internet money" that nobody uses back in 2009? Nah... It's like buying some worthless shitcoin or token right now. Who would do such thing? Grin
I remember that I was in my first year in university back in October 2009. I didn't have any money to buy anything back then. All I had was a laptop and I feel sorry that I never mined any BTC with my laptop. Grin Being an early adopter would have been great.

What's the point of looking back at the things we cannot anymore change? The good thing is that you're here when Bitcoin is only at $19,000. So let us all learn our lessons and make sure that what we regret missing in the past we grab today. Bitcoin may not be as cheap as 13 years ago today, but it won't be as cheap as now another 13 years later. We cannot continue crying over spilled milk. We just have to make sure that 13 years from now we won't be looking back today and release the same sigh.

How does this make you feel?
It's impressive to know how Bitcoin's price started. I have this regret on why I didnt know or bought Bitcoin on its earlier stage. But even I bought Bitcoin back then at cheaper price (2015), im still not confident to hold it for long period and was tempted to sell at low price after seeing an improvement, not knowing it can increase further. Hence I failed to hold longer. So asking me now how does it feel? I still have regrets but there's no point on dwelling in the past. Thus, if you dont want to miss the same opportunity again, dont repeat the same mistake since you're already aware of its history.

Good question, now I ask you again.
How old were you at that time, were you familiar with Bitcoin at that time?
If you bought Bitcoin at that time, I doubt you can hold it 13 years later.

Here I don't want to assume you, I feel lucky to know Bitcoin first from the people around me. Now I will tell them Bitcoin has benefited me a lot.

This chart makes me feel nothing because i know it was impossible to know the potential of bitcoin at that point of time. I did not know about bitcoin in 2009 but even I did, i would not have wasted 1 dollar in money which had no value at that time. I am being honest here.

No one is a fortune teller to know that bitcoin will be over 50K to 60K, If everyone knew this, wouldn't everyone have sold everything to buy bitcoins only in 2009?
This is the correct answer, only those which truly understood the technology behind bitcoin were interested into putting any money at risk by investing in it or by mining it.

And even if somehow you found out about bitcoin back then this does not mean we would have taken immediate action and invest all our savings in it, so I think it is pointless to think about this kind of what if scenario, as even if we were not part of the early days of bitcoin we still got in relatively early which is good enough for me.

Actually time you know Bitcoin is not very influential because you can say that because you have seen it at this time but people who know the beginning of Bitcoin certainly do not estimate what will happen so far, only few believe that Bitcoin will grow in value.
So in my opinion is how much you are believe that Bitcoin can go further far from the first time you found it is more important

None of us could have predicted that Bitcoin's price from 13 years ago would increase by such a significant amount to its current level. That is what makes it so volatile and significant in today's world.
