Yes I believe that bitcoin is the only one who can control the market. Bitcoin is the most amazing coin and it is really the coin that is really the most trusted and the crypto feild is really depend on it. If there is no bitcoin then there will be no altcoins. But we have to admit that each coin or token on market plays a important role to contribute to the market up to now. I think you can't compare them in this way

Altcoins are absolutely reliant on bitcoin for their esteem. So in no way,they could take control over the market.Also altcoins are very unstable and I trust that nobody puts resources into it on a long haul premise. Marketcap of altcoins absolutely may be greater than bitcoin's, however its not only a few altcoins and many altcoins together add to such a greater market top.
