Sure some of the altcoins out there might have better trading levels of being able to make money but 99.9% of them are absolutely and utterly garbage with no future at all. Will any of them or any coins to come going to “beat out” bitcoin in the future? Sure I could see that being a possibility, but doubtfully any time soon.

According to me in 10 years time, Bitcoin could be the currency of choice for international trade. Especially if you look that in 2021, both Tesla (TSLA) and PayPal (PYPL)have invested in cryptocurrencies. Tesla invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoin, and PayPal made a bid to purchase Curv, a cryptocurrency custodian.

So surpassing might not be something that will be important or even looked at like that, as they will coexist on the same plane but in different uses.

Kinda like we now have cash, and card payments everywhere, I think in the future we will have cash, card, crypto payments everywhere.
And for international transfer of money, most of it will be done with Bitcoin under the hood for minimal fees and extra security.

Well, only bitcoin is the long lasting currency and it will remain to be dominant forever. However, there is no surety of any altcoin if it will be able to survive for 5 years , 10 years or more. There were many altcoins which were in top 20 list but now they do not exists.
It's never wise to invest in altcoins only and ignore bitcoins. Your portfolio should be 50% in bitcoin.

I personally think that the vast majority of altcoins will disappear or over the long term, let's say in a decade.
Bitcoin is here to stay.
The only altcoins that I think have a chance to stay relevant are the stable coins. This is because they provide certain services that people will probably always want to use, like being pegged to a specific fiat for example.
I know of people who know other cryptocurrencies and zero info abouth bitcoin, sometimes it is unthinkable when you are immersed in the bitcoin world.

indeed many people ask that question among many people but indeed it is very difficult to answer. especially for a beginner like me? but this time I will answer to the best of my ability, and my answer? positive for bitcoin. because I see the brilliant potential in bitcoin. because I estimate that in 10 years the price will be very much higher. because it is seen from the many enthusiasts and the supply is limited so that's where I look at bitcoin in the future. that is positive.

When the bitcoin price was reduced,it’s best time to inverse your money.Most of the time,people skip of investment at the right time and worry about the future.Kindly avoid this move as being a investor.Bitcoin is decentralised coin and can be used to buy at low and easily can be sold at good price.The decentralised is the reason for the pump and dump with the certain period.
Watching the development of the overall market capitalization is a good way to proceed. In 2017 there were 5,000 coins and even at the time when altcoins shined, Bitcoin dominance was not below 40%. After years and more than 19,000 new cryptocurrencies, the ATL of altcoins remains in the 40% range.
Of course there are a lot of problems with the market capitalization formula and a lot of coins in there that shouldn't even exist and rely on capitalization, but at the end of the day that would just make the numbers better for Bitcoin.
In the long term, simple and safe is always the best bet, even if in the short term there are good options. But when things get ugly in the market...... BTC shines.

It's been more than 10years now and the data on Bitcoin shows that it's waxing stronger and gaining wider acceptance all over the world despite the great challenges it faces. We already have Bitcoin ATMs, coffee shops and some mom and pop shops are already accepting payment in BTC. Even school kids will mention Bitcoin first before any other cryptocurrency if asked. The point I am trying to make in essence is that Bitcoin is already a household name base on its value, acceptance, popularity and publicity. It will take 10times as much for another coin to takeover.

In the short term, there were altcoins that outperformed bitcoin in terms of profitability. Offhand, I can remember xrp or eth during the hype of the 17th year. Over the course of that year, those two altcoins did amazing returns, if my memory serves me right.If we consider the past 10 years, then, perhaps, not a single altcoin has surpassed bitcoin in profitability. This is most likely due to the fact that bitcoin was created first and therefore it was time to build a user base and find its value. I do not yet consider the fundamental features and benefits of bitcoin.
It seems to me that it will be difficult to surpass bitcoin other altcoins even in 10 years. Or even ever.

until whenever no one can compete with bitcoin let alone replace bitcoin's position, bitcoin is the king of other alcoins it will apply forever. We all know bitcoin is the first big coin to be recognized by the world.Bitcoin adoption will continue to increase but we are not sure if in the next 10 years, fiat (paper money) will be completely replaced by bitcoin and cryptocurrency. If you think of the bitcoin price and marketcap, then i can safely say that the bitcoin market cap will be very close or equal to gold market cap.
Its always getting better since 2016, so i wouldn't be surprise if 10 years from now bitcoin become so very expensive compared to its current value at the moment. And It's proven and tested of some investors that still relying on bitcoin especially if the investment is for long term coz the demand of bitcoin is keep increasing. So expect that there will have a good improvement in the future.
From 2016 till now it is true that Bitcoin has risen sharply and if you look at the current growth Bitcoin will be more expensive in the next 10 years. The OP said is there any other altcoin that could be more expensive than bitcoin from now on over the next ten years?I don't expect other altcoins to be above bitcoin, bitcoin is already a symbol of cryptocurrency. If someone talks crypto, we will hear about the current development of Bitcoin from the talk. And now some of the newly launched altcoins have not been able to stay above the bitcoin price. And it is very difficult for Altcoins to surpass Bitcoin.

It's useful to think of Bitcoin as the Internet. There's no such thing as a new Internet, it just keep getting better and better over the years through continuous improvement.

I would not close the possibility that there will be another coin in the future that could beat the performance of bitcoin. But if the future coins will all be created from the image of the present crypto coins, then i'm very much confident that bitcoin will still dominate the market by that time. And to think that bitcoin has still a big room to grow, and to improve its features, then its quite hard for those newly launched coins to outperform the potentials of bitcoin. 
Bitcoin is the greatest currency of all time in cryptocurrency. Cryptocurrency has been created for maybe this afternoon.Bitcoin is slowly gaining popularity all over the world.There will be a time when Bitcoin will be recorded by everyone and everyone will use Bitcoin.I think 10 years from now, Bitcoin will be stronger and more stable. And leaving Bitcoin behind, no coin can make a difference.
Op, I do not believe in your claim that some altcoins are profitable than bitcoin in short and long term investment. Let me start with the long term investment. Since bitcoin was created till date, it has been the only coin that has been in bull trend since it was created. So, where are your data to support your claims.
