Who knows?

Bitcoin could possibly be overtaken since we know that everything could happen but its really hard to believe considering that its the father of all crypto.Its tech or features
might be outdated compared to others but its really hard to believe that it would be replacen by something in near future.We cant make any conclusions or assurance
but basing off or looking on whats happening around then its really that unlikely to happen.No one could predict even on tomorrows prices thats why im not really
a fan off with these kind of questions.

I am also too much confident that bitcoin will be the mainstream currency in the next decade. However, I am not sure that the altcoins which are hyped nowadays will remain valuable in the next 5 or 10 years. Most altcoins are made to get monetary benefits and they are not meant for long-term investments.

Indeed, this is really very likely to happen in the year to come since there are already lots of hints that bitcoin right now is gaining a lot of recognition and is drawing in eyes and attention of the big players due to its current popularity and the solutions in can offer to existing problems plus its potential to provide new business opportunities to business minded people that can see its current and increasing demand. although, I am not so sure about the 10 years timeframe though since it can take a bit longer or even shorter than that depending on a couple variables that may occur in the coming years. But yes, stacking up as much bitcoin as you can would prove to be more beneficial in the long run as it gets widely accepted.

The number of existing cryptocurrencies is increasing, new coins are issued every day, every moment if we see it with perspective, but even so, I do not think that no matter how many cryptocurrencies come out, they will not be able to dethrone Bitcoin. It is the most famous and has been around for years, we may not know what will happen in the future, even the current conflict between Ukraine and Russia could go further and seriously affect Bitcoin, as happened in the first invasion when its value fell sharply ... But nevertheless I think it would not be enough, in ten years there are analysts who predict that Bitcoin will be the only currency in world use, also as others comment, Btc is being adopted as legal tender in several countries, we can only hope that others implement this method.

It's all starting to happen, right now. This will happen in less than a decade.

10 years down the line, middle east will be accepting bitcoin for oil. Major economies will have included bitcoin in their finances. crypto ATMs will be common. Banks will issue crypto credit cards. Swiss banks would be offering safe services for storing your keys. US will be frustrated and struggling to keep dollar as the international currency. We will still be here rejoicing we were on right side of history.

Have Been hearing this for how many years now , But the problem is ? same question and same answers had been given here , almost 13 years now of Bitcoin being the dominant currency and yet? none of the altcoins get close to the value of bitcoin.
Lol if you are generating the market? no one can tell if surpassing will happen or not because there is no permanent position in market as it is depend on the demand and the capitalization .

my speculation now and in the next 10 years bitcoin will not be defeated by other coins because bitcoin is basically the parent of cryptocurrencies

Nobody knows but let's take it like this.

A decade has already passed since bitcoin was quite known on the internet and still, it's here today. And it's just getting started in the masses and the public.

Unlike before, it's not that known and most people are afraid of this "internet money" because only a few invest and have knowledge about it.

Meaning to say, it's just getting stronger and so far, there has no any other project that can surpass it.

No, there isn't any and I suppose there won't. It will take much more than 10 years until something really innovative can be launched and replace bitcoin importance in financial and crypto universe. By there, you can expect bitcoin to keep ruling as the king of crypto market. Day after day my conviction regards this matter only grows, because that is what wealthy people and sovereign countries are looking for themselves when talking about cryptocurrency. You don't see any countries planning to pass a law turning altcoins into legal tender or the main discussions of crypto spinning around altcoins.

Beyond the blockchain technology something more powerful to exist within the upcoming ten years is very narrow. Even after ten years or more, bitcoin is going to be the king of the cryptomarket.
For profiting it is always the altcoins that take the lead. Here also user needs to find the right altcoin to profit, if not this could end in a big loss. Profiting big out of altcoins sometimes depend on luck. For risk free trusted growth in the long term, it is always bitcoin.

I would love to see the coins that you are referring to.

While indeed short-term, there can be some coins in the top 20 that can overtake bitcoin in terms of profitability specially in a good alt bullrun, it cannot be as good as bitcoin in the long run because if you have been around in this industry for a while, you will see that the rankings change a lot and some coins that were pretty good and had good utilities have removed from the list. There are good shitcoins as well that can also over take bitcoin in terms of profitability but this takes a lot of luck(not worth it) or skill which can still pose some risks(risks depend on your skills and temperament towards your investments).

So, which coin is truly profitable and will there be any coin that would surpass bitcoin?

The way I see it, this depends on the type of investor you are; how much time you can dedicate in crypto investing, risk tolerance, knowledge, experience, emotional control and so much more. Because not every investor has the same capital, same mindset, same techniques, schedules etc. It would be much better to stop comparing and start searching for what routines and ways fits you best and gives you the maximum potential of profitability through trial and error.

As for surpassing bitcoin, I don't see it happening in the near future. Bitcoin right now is just too dominant in terms of popularity, ease of access and usage. I don't know though in the far future but in my lifetime, I think I will only see bitcoin as the one on top.

Except a different technology other than Blockchain emerges that promises a better approach to decentralized transaction but if such project never surfaces then Bitcoin will remain the most valuable crypto currency even after 10 years. But for more profits altcoin has better profit margin when compared to Bitcoin especially when it comes to short term trades, but for long term profit Bitcoin is just a perfect tool to hold

I think this question is not new anymore? But the people's answer will still be the same and that is, no any other coin that can surpass btc. How come altcoins are more profitable when btc has higher value than them? Or let say there are some alts which can sometimes exceed the value of btc but I don't think they can sustain it.

In the future, their value will decrease and worst they will die, like any other alts out there but we are one hundred percent sure that btc will always remain forever even if the human civilization has already migrated to mars. The future of cryptos will depend on btc, so they must take care of btc and always support it first before anything else.

What next level? The making of bitcoin itself was whole new ecosystem which gave pathways to huge number of projects out there. However, there is way less chance that any other coin would surpass bitcoin in next ten years or even hundred. We have to understand that bitcoin was first entity to run on the blockchain and there is whole new level of tech has been developed. Nonetheless other coins would always be secondary with very less opportunity to have global acceptance.

10 calendar years makes a decade and within that long period of time certain things will occur, new things will come up and old stuff will be discarded. 10 years to come majority of the shitcoins we have in the market will disappear and new ones will come up.

So far none of the old coins we have are able to shake the number one coin in the world, will the new ones that will be created within the 10 years time frame able to surpass btc is not known, but looking at the solidity of btc and strong support, it seems impossible for any other coin to take that position but then again, we are leaving in a world where development and technological advancement is evolving faster than previous years. So who knows what will happen in 10 years to come.

Now what's the thing you refer about the more known crypto? You didn't even mention anything, you just talking about Bitcoin over and over.

There's no altcoins is good, all of them is shitcoins. Even they're survived for 10 years or 100 years, it's still shitcoins and don't have any utilities. XRP is the the example of the most shitcoin and already quite old.

I never thought there would come a day when an altcoin could replace bitcoin.
It is true that many altcoins today have great features and technologies, but looking at the entire bitcoin market cap is the largest and the growth of altcoins all depends on bitcoin.
Over the past 10 years, I have not seen an altcoin that can hold its ground, let alone replace bitcoin. Most altcoins will be replaced by more potential new altcoins.
What I see no altcoins that can compare to bitcoin is decentralization, I have not seen any altcoin that is fully decentralized like bitcoin.

I dont think there will be altcoins that can surpass Bitcoin in the future. Bitcoin is a total package, it has use case that can solve real problem.

Majority of altcoins are created to generate money and it has no utility, therefore it cant survive for long. Alts are only ideal for short term to make profit because its risky to hold it for long period, it might lose its value and be delisted in exchanges especially the shitcoins.

Thus, when it comes to crypto investment Bitcoin will always be on top.
