Criminals will always find ways as to how they are going to transact with their illegal transactions. It is not quite fair if people will point solely the blame to bitcoin because there are even more illegal transactions done with fiat money.

It's inevitable, its no surprised at all, with how much profit you can earn in a small period of time, this will surely pique interest of a lot of people including terrorist, drug lords/cartels, name it I'm sure some/most have tried it out, we all know that the transactions made through bitcoin is impossible to track which is very ideal for shady businesses, Though to be honest i really don't care whether it is used in bad and illegal things.

Of course it is. Transactions using bitcoin are untraceable. You remain anonymous for every transactions thats why bitcoin is convenient to use as a payment for something illegal like drugs.
Nope, Bitcoin transaction is traceable because Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous. You can easily search for the untraceable currencies just by looking it at google. Personally, I don't give care if Bitcoin used in the illegal transaction, even the cash system is used for something illegal.

As it requires no name or no ownership except the private keys, its hard to trace the original owner as its very easy to hide the IPs and thus the identity. So its traceable but simultaneously its hard unless mistakes are made. Ya totally agree not only cryptocurrency but lot more cash is being used for crime, but Bitcoin does supports or help in some way to perform the crimes, specially ransom.

Bitcoins has regained its strong value, As of this posting, the value per 1 bitcoin is exactly 4786.59 US Dollar.   Soon we will see more ways people can squeeze the most out of bitcoins.   Since the advent of the internet to be profit oriented in the 90's, no one would possibly have imagined that the Internet would breed Facebook, Google, Uber, online streaming, etc. This is where we are with the Blockchain now. There exists a whole world of opportunities out there.

These opportunities have the unrighteous users of this cryptocurrencies to also used its advantage. We cannot deny for a fact that cyber crimes have been committed since the birth of the internet.  Once, stealing was done with having guns, now, robbers can easily hack bank accounts or counterfeit credit cards to their advantage.  Sooner, cryptocurrencies can be used to pay crimes such as services for creating counterfeit birth certificates and this is not far from happening.  Actually, the US has already cases on this matter.

Another is the crime of buying illegal-drug emporium that used Bitcoin as a medium of exchange, politicians and policymakers took notice. Criminals, it turns out, really like bitcoins, which can be exchanged for nefarious purposes on the "Dark Web," with complete anonymity and, it seems, impunity.

Although, there are some articles that i have read regarding criminals cannot hide behind bitcoins, still, there are difficulties tracing transactions using cryptocurrencies. That is why law enforcement agencies should have a to change their procedures to pursue criminals who make use of the latest technology to commit crimes. Let the law find a way to evolve to address new tech challenges. There is no reason to expect that law enforcement won’t be able to get a handle on this new cybercrime.

It is not flabbergasting to hear that BTC is used in crimes. It is a popular currency and is the first ever decentralized currency. It can be less risky to transfer money using BTC and other cryptocurrencies. That's why it is used. Having a digital innovation has a lot of negative effects as well ...so yes indeed, this became a challenge.

Money is not good nor evil. Same goes to the use of cryptocurrency. We cannot control what people do so we cannot blame it bitcoin is used for illegal transactions. This the sad but true nature of business. What we can only do is to promise ourselves that we won't follow their example and never take advantage bitcoin for illegal trades and criminality.

Yes, I've heard of it many times already. We can't change the fact that what we're earning from our hardwork is also being used for crimes. Criminals know how to commit crimes in a smart way that they use bitcoin through transact. We can't change it no matter what. What we need to do is just to use it the right way.

If it is bad for me but for me it is best thing that bitcoin is safe currency and bitcoin will increase more with time. Right now several things are involving criminality and it is not fixing in price so this is main reason people think about it like this. I hope bitcoin will not stop growing because of this and will get higher till end of this year and no worries bitcoin can be use for anything.

Since Bitcoin was the first digital currency on the web it has been linked to criminal activities and this is not a revelation. Bitcoin will probably be used for criminal activities in the future as well, as some of the users already said Bitcoin is not completely untraceable meaning that you can still be traced if you are not careful what you post online.

About the deep web and similar criminal websites, they are using a lot of other cryptocurrencies now as a form of currency, Monero is an example of it since it has better private features than Bitcoin, and in theory it's completely untraceable.

There has been a lot of threads pointing out how Bitcoin has this reputation of being used in criminal activities but there's no real way to solve this without sacrificing some of the privacy that Bitcoin provides, and if you're worried about criminals using Bitcoin they are already migrating to other cryptocurrencies that have even more anonymity which really doesn't solve the problem. At the same time though, FIAT money has been used and will continue to be used on criminal activities as well, that's a trait of all currencies, not just Bitcoin.

Bitcoin can surely be used to do crimes as it have features that can might help those people who will do illegal things. Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency wherein the transactions takes place between two users without the need of intermediary. With this, the transactions made can not be tracked especially by the government. Furthermore, there are people who would likely to take advantage of this kind of development in our technology.

Apparently, it is true that it is being used to do undercover crimes because it is hard to trace who made the transactions and where it came from.

One of the disadvantage of bitcoin is its untraceable, the only thing it can be able to give is the recepient's address and the sender address , time and date of transaction so its very easy to use in crime like staffa , ransom and block mailing. Its being taken advantage by criminals who has access on computer and knowledge about cryptocurrency but its minimal and most of bitcoin users has a good way of dealing with it.
Maybe that is one of the reason why bitcoin can be use in scamming people since it can easily use by everyone without any further evidence in case of investigation since btc is anonymous that is also the main reason why most of the countries don't like bitcoin to enter their territory.
so what are the best thing that we must to do is making this in a good way that even though there is a lot of people that are taking this in a bad way we dont need top rake that also and making this in a bad things cause we cant prevent that what we are going to be is not doing that , that is the best option of stop spreading and we can now prevent using this in a bad way.

According to a study conducted at a British school, more than half of the still active websites available in the dark web contains illegal content. Researchers reviewed over 300,000 pages, of which 5,200 are still updated and alive. Over 2,700 of these have been classified as illegal because of the content or the possibility of obtaining information, goods or services through them that could be used to break the law.

The vast majority of them were bitcoins, the main or only method of payment. The most popular commodity for which we will pay BTC is, of course, drugs. Often much more expensive than obtained independently on the street, but as stated in the report: it is a purchase in white gloves. Interestingly, the research also found offers of hacker groups that, for the equivalent of USD 2,500, promised to break the desired anonymity of the chosen user and provide us with his full personal details.

This is true because bitcoin transactions are not traceable by the government. I think that most big crime groups are using bitcoin to do their dirty transactions because it is more convenient and safer for them than to pay or receive fiat money personally.

And you think what fiat money is not being used to fuel crime as we speak? If you are going to say bitcoin is used for crime then you should look no further than the US dollar as a major player in crimes all across the world. With that we can't be ignorant and only place blame on bitcoin the blame goes both ways and we should realize that in order to stop being hypocrites.

There were several reports on the news today about the governments concern of Bitcoin funding terrorism and even "white supremacist who say merry Christmas". This will be the best way for government to regulate Bitcoin.
