It would be a nice idea, and more if you gift bitcoin in a chip like all those collectibles that we have in that section of this forum. They are a nice idea to try to introduce someone in the system, maybe if he sees that he would try to start using bitcoin.

giving bitcoin as a gift is just giving money but it is unique in a sense that bitcoin is not that known all over the world yet so if someone receives bitcoin as a gift i think thats weird but win on his/her part because there is a lot of potential to earn from it.

Bitcoin breaking it’s high-price again and again, multiple purposes rather than payment system and future investment.
All this make bitcoin a perfect gift for your love, wife, and family.

1.  your gift for Christmas will be a bitcoin?.
2. your ways to gift bitcoins "Hardware wallet, bitcoin gifts, paper wallet, Physical Coins, Donate"?.

Bitcoin is really a perfect gift for this coming Christmas day since everyone of us wants to receive this bitcoin that has a huge amount when you convert it to fiat. If you convert it then you are now ready to buy for your niche Buena for this coming Christmas.

To give someone bitcoins must pay a transaction which is now about $ 75. Then the person you make the gift too has to pay the same amount to spend your gift. My question is what amount you need to give people to justify the cost of $ 150 per transaction? I think this is a crazy idea. Bitcoin ceases to be tender.

The best way to give a gift would be a physical bitcoin. Something shiny and unique, so that the recipient treasures it. Paper wallets are good too, but I have heard a lot of stories about people who lost their paper wallet, after being gifted it in the early days of Bitcoin.

I also want 10 BTC where the santa
Who would be against such a present!
Yet the thing is that people don't give such huge gifts to others, you know. In my country the usual sum of money spent on a birthday/Christmas present is $10. A really cool present for close friends might cost $20. Now, bitcoin transaction costs like a good present and sometimes even more than that, so I guess for now it's better to give money presents in fiat or in normal currencies with a reasonable fee.
at Christmas, value doesn't matter most, but goodness is.
Yes, this is a religious holiday, so people should care about the money as much as they usually do on this day.

this question is very little funny, ok my suggestion to give christmas gift might be send bitcoin to the recipient, but not in physical form maybe recipient must have account blockchain or other wallet but may be in physical form maybe receiver must have legder wallet but my advice is a real gift and you have to exchange bitcoin into money and give a very special gift
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

For now bitcoin value are not yet fully recovered their price, but still it was growing up little by little. I guess before end of 2017 bitcoin value will touch and stayed to $20,000 I hope that this price will become fixed. Because it was a good starting point of bitcoin value in the 2018.

Its really cool idea that you have brought up here. However I'm not getting attached to bitcoin upto this level this Christmas. I'm managing my investment with some idea's for the year 2018. SO I'm saving up some BTC.

But, at the same time I'm gonna cash out my X % of BTC into the bank so that I can spend it for my family. So on the one way around I'm using BTC as the medium to buy gifts for my loved one. Im pretty sure this time I'm having more money with me and I can do the grand celebration of the Christmas at my house for family and friends. Good luck for the best ideas though. Smiley

It is a good idea if you give it to a person that know about bitcoin. And he/she know what will he/she do to his bitcoin. But if youg gift it to a person who know nothing about bitcoin. Its a disaster. Because he don't know what will he do to his bitcoin. You need to teach him step by step.

After the long bull run, the possibility of bear market is growing, so now might be not the best time to gift bitcoins. Sure, they can increase 2 or 3 times in the next years, but it may also go down, and people would not be happy to see their gift dropping in value.

Transaction fees are also making it harder to gift Bitcoin, especially smaller sums like $50 or less. You could gift them some altcoin, but they are much more volatile and risky.

So, I don't think that Bitcoin is a good gift today, especially for people who are not yet introduced to it.

Well to give someone bitcoin as a gift for Christmas is very smart, but you need to know what type of person he/she is. He might like a physical gift like a teddy bear or a jewellery. But definitely gifting bitcoins instead of fiat currency to someone is way better choice.

I will not give nor receive bitcoin as a gift for Christmas. The reason is very simple, there are people near me who are using bitcoin so there is no sense to give them any and I can't expect to get some.
But this would be excellent gift for me and I would be very happy about it. Bitcoin is simple gift but very effective and has great value, it's universal gift for everyone.

Bitcoin is definitely going to make anyone happy if given as a gift. But, if you're planning to send one only now, your receiver might need to wait until new year's day.  Grin

Because of bitcoins popularity and its market value, i agree that bitcoin would be really interesting and good present for Christmas. Giving bitcoin as a gift to someone, is similar as giving gold as an gift. It would be really original and valuable present, because if that person decide to hold them for a bit longer they could get even more expensive present. Tongue
