The Indian government set up a commission whether to adjust or restrict it and now it will depend on the committee's report. The government can only put a few directions into its mission but not add to the boycott.

As i've heard india central bank officially banned bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies along with they statement they say they will be launching their own fiat currency. The Central Bank says entities regulated by RBI will not be dealing with or provide services to any business or individual dealing with cryptocurrencies effective immediately due to the risk it possesses.

this is a big disadvantage for India in my opinion, because with a large population may be able to utilize bitcoin well. but this may be the government's consideration of the established regulations and this may be the best for India.

India’s Supreme Court has upheld the central bank’s directive of prohibiting banks from offering services to the domestic cryptocurrency sector in July 20,2018. India’s Supreme Court sets September 11 date for final cryptocurrency petition hearing .Howerver, it is rumored an inter-governmental committee of multiple ministries tasked to form a framework for the cryptocurrency sector isn’t considering any outright ban of cryptocurrency trading. Instead, authorities could enforce new regulatory norms that are likely to classify cryptocurrencies as commodities.

Maybe there is a huge community of bitcoin coming from India, but it does not make much sense in here, i mean, there are a lot of people from there, but most of investments are coming from other countries, so it does not affect much after all

India says it does not consider the code to be a legitimate bid and will try to remove payments using coins like bitcoin. If the digital currency finally faces the ban, it means that sales dropping can lead to slow Bitcoin prices.

Theres really no confirmation regarding the ban of bitcoin in india which means it is still a speculation. There may be some restrictions regarding its use but not really completely banned. Banning bitcoin in such country would really be a loss to them.

No bitcoin is not banned in India but they are trying to make laws regarding bitcoins. There were some rumors that bitcoin is banned in India it all spread by the Indian news channels and the news papers but reality is RBI is keeping all the people aware that bitcoin is risky and any loss will not be their responsibility but people and media took it wrongly. Government set up a committee to whether regulate it or restrict it and now it will depend on the committee's report.

India does not have a comprehensive ban on bitcoins. There are many IT workers in India. Their acceptance of bitcoin is very high. The government of India may only have some regulatory measures for bitcoin.
