I also agree, unfortunately it's not that simple to implement because of the way it's coded. I will keep this in mind though and maybe just re-code that part of the script eventually. Really like the idea!

Just for my own curiosity, would you mind making a copy of your script, stripping out anything that shouldn't be seen, and sending me a copy? I'd like to see just what would be involved to implement something like this.

If that's too much of a hassle, or you have 'private' code that you don't want exposed, I understand. This would be more like a "play thing" for me, so I have no real expectations :p

Just an idea, but wouldn't it be a bit more interesting if the timer only resets if the last payment bursts a bubble?
Thoughts? Concerns?

Thanks for taking the time to read my idea :-)
Ooh, I like that idea. It would make it a lot more fun.

Me too, it would be a bit like raising the minimum spend*, but in a variable way.

*Minimum needed to reset the timer

+1

+1 Cheesy If I had not already spent 15 BTC on the current bubble round, I would pay some BTC bounty for that feature.

I think 8 hours is too long for the initial timer. If the game started at 5 or 4 hours, it would be much more exciting, IMO.

Yupp, it was set to 5 hours.

Whatever happens to mybitcoin is outside of my control, so please make your spends in time. Obviously if that becomes a problem I will have to switch to the bitcoin server.

Does someone know what the maximum timer length was set to before it hit 0 the last time?

The game is good as long as people buy bubbles. It's going to be a good money maker when it gets to be more popular. Perhaps in the future you could try modifying the rules for a few rounds and experiment with dispersing some of the jackpot to the losers to encourage people to buy more bubbles later in the game, when it slows down. It seems to me people are afraid of losing money and being the guys on the bottom. You have to think of a way to reward people who join later so the game hits a steady stream instead of shooting out like a bullet.

I notice most of the money is paid out the first day and then the game slows down to people putting in tiny amounts to try to win the jackpot, which usually happens late at night. Will it be like this forever? I'm kicking myself for not staying up and watching it like Doood, I think he was the only one when this started.
The way I see it, people all around the world can play. So what's night for you might be in the middle of the day for somebody else. In fact, I was watching the jackpot timer reach 0 the day it happend, I wasn't able to spend either at that time since I wasn't home. But it was in the middle of the day, like 2pm.

It seems now there are more players here than in the first round, which is a good sign. We managed several days with 5 hours, so now we'll do 4. Eventually it will be 3 hours, and I will probably reduce it until 1 hour. It will be won, maybe you're the one this time, maybe not. It's not really a better way to do this as far as I can see, well except from making it fully automated, something that will be done.

I'm sure many wants the jackpot, it's amazing now it's actually worth 340$....

Doood is a gambling man. The 50 bitcoin jackpot went of 8x since the beginning of april when I bought my bitcoins. From $50 to $400. I wish I gotten luckier over this bitcoin thing like the doood, I could of made a lot of money by just buying a lot of them, all i've been doing lately is overpaying with these coins.
