I am an entrepreneur and I'm working on getting BitCoin accepted in ATM machines via a change in their software, once standardized and bug-free it can setup in most machines and will seriously give the community addition strength.  Its a bit long in coming though, and I'm working it through my own machines first.

Sorry to potentially spam this thread but weren't you on TV?

I am about to pull my Bitcoin based business out of private beta.

The software reached v1.0 last night and was deployed to the production server for final testing.

HTML requires a touch of cleanup, and static assets moved to the CDN, but the plan is to launch to the public tomorrow around 5pm est.

A little preview:

I see what you are getting at, but accepting bitcoin only would severely limit the number of people one could sell too. I think the important thing would be having places where people can spend their bitcoins without exchanging them. In fact if we accepted only bitcoin we would have to sell them on an exchange to cover costs.

Definitely. We understand that. The things that we like to see our startups purchase in BTC are hosting, hardware  and development/graphic design time. We have a pool of educated people here willing to do hard work for BTC, but we have to make the most of it.

When it comes to actually accepting payment, we understand that the nature of the business will determine the best routes for that to happen.

Hi there , i'm considering integrating bitcoin as a payment method within my website . If there's anybody preferably within the uk (due to shipping costs) that may be interested in purchasing any stock from my site using bitcoins , ideally a few small test sales to test out the process, Please feel free to get in touch , I'm also new to forums so just learning this process too . Thanks Mick bruce

Bitcoin Venture Capital.

We've got a few good startups that have submitted ideas and a few investors with BTC willing to fund, we're just trying to match up the right people!.

How can startups apply? Do you have a website or anything?

Yes we do.. I should really make a signature..

http://www.btcvc.com/

There are a list of outstanding ideas that have been submitted available through the blog, and we're working to update with some new ideas we've received! We also have been contacted by a few BTC investors, but obviously we're keeping that list close to the cuff for security purposes.

Thanks, I forwarded this along to our CEO to see if its an avenue he wants to persue. I have a question though from looking at the website. Do the companies applying have to accept bitcoin exclusivly for payment? We were just planning on using it as an option along side more traditional payment options.

Then general plan with BTCVC is to target startups that are trying to conduct a significant portion of their primary business in BTC. The reason behind this is because the primary motivation behind Bitcoin Venture Capital is to create sustainable companies that operate using Bitcoin instead of just companies that accept Bitcoin as an alternative payment that they instantly just sell on an exchange. By making sure that there are thriving companies that are operating primarily based upon bitcoin, it makes the entire economy much stronger.

Take the recent issue we had with MtGox. After mtGox crashed, a lot of people were asking if bitcoins were suddenly worth nothing! Why? Because if you can't sell your BTC on an exchange, what CAN you do with them?

We want to make sure that when market crashes and panics happen, people know that there is still an economy that surrounds bitcoin where they'll still be able to exchange their BTC for goods and services.

I need to recruit a developer and I want to pay them in bitcoins. I've been logged in for over a day, have more than five posts, but it says I've only been logged on for an hour. I suspect its a technical problem. Will you please let me out of here?

I run  a couple of businesses in Australia.

One of them sells beef direct from the farmer to the customer across the eastern seaboard of Australia.  Our "hook" is our completely transparent pricing structure and margins coupled with full traceability of the animal plus sausages that are edible for those with chemical sensitivities (gluten, additives etc...).

Starting July 2011, we will be accepting Bitcoins.

My suppliers (farmers) obviously know about trade, but they won't take Bitcoins.  Yet.

To pull this off, I need a Bitcoin derivatives market.  The current volatility* makes the case for options and futures essential.

What is the current state Bitcoin derivatives?

*I am a big supporter of speculators.  Bitcoin needs them in the price discovery journey.
