It's not the only one that can be the internet's currency, I wouldn't agree there. I still find it way too useful to use other forms of instant payment (mobile credit for example?) for things that are not essential or don't require the privacy or security that Bitcoin can promise. Of course, I also think it is the most suitable one to be used everywhere now.
