Sorry about the fall in price. Actually bitcoin can't destroy you, but will only make the life much more better. I will maybe advise you just keep some and if you can trade some good altoins in CMC and see how to get the best out of this bear. Bitcoin will ultimately recover and beat the imagination of all doubters.
Few months back i purchased arround 15 to 16 btc when bitcoin price was 10000$ to 11000$ each btc but now arround 4000$ each btc .Just waiting for 11000$ for each btc than i should leave btc and i can see bitcoin have no future in this time.
don't to be weak people. go to strong people, btc price will go to moon. dont worry, we are same. i bought btc at price $15000. you not lost alot than me 
bitcoin doesn't destroy you, it's just a matter of time. Indeed, now you have lost more than 50% of your money compared to when you started investing, but are you going to give up just like that? I think there is still a huge potential for bitcoin to increase in the future.
Bitcoin hardens you, patience and everything will be fine, you are still alive means not everything is lost.

If you don't want to break deeper, keep the bitcoin that you have and wait until the market is fully recovered. That moment will surely come. Bitcoin will always remain strong despite the FUD and other factors that could make its value go down. The market will always correct itself. What goes down must go up. If you plan to invest long term then there's a very big possibility that you can recover your loss or even profit more than what you invested in the first place. When it comes to bitcoin investments only the strong hands will profit. Emotional investors won't win in this kind of waiting game. Don't let your emotion cloud your judgement. 
Nobody losses when it come to cryptocurrency except you decide to. This is true as the price of the cryptocurrency can go down to zero and starts to rise back till it will also make new high. All that is needed is patience and tenanciousness. If you hold your position with patience and wait for the correct price to appear then you will sell off and make your profit.
If your story is true then I guess you took a finanancial advice from someone who isnt professionals. That is the newbie problem , to make more money very early in his cryptocurrency adventure. The best is to get courage and hold with it for sometime and see what the market has to offer you.

If ever that you would wait for that price to happen again then you'll regret selling it when you see the price that would go higher than $1100.

Don't worry bud in the future price Bitcoin will be grow up cuz Bitcoin is digital gold, the reward of mining Bitcoin will be decrease 2x every 4 years in 2021 reward of mining Bitcoin will be 6,25 Btc per block no reason the price will be 50k$ - 70k$ and on 2140 reward of mining Bitcoin will be 0,00000100 Btc or 100 Sat, thinking how much energi will be use to mining Bitcoin.

What was your initial reason for investing in bitcoin? It should have been because of the technology and the potential for mass adoption. Well, that hasn't changed in the last year. All that has changed is the price. Perhaps you never should have invested in the first place.
Bitcoin doesn't destroy you. If you can see the huge potential of Bitcoin in the future, then you can quietly hold your bitcoin, and don't pay attention to the recent price, you can temporarily forget it for a while.
