Most of the people around were with similar level of understanding about cryptocurrency and the virtual money. It is our responsibility to make them correct and go on the right path. People find it really different when heard for the very first time, but the usage and when they experience using it similar to fiat will get to know better and begins to make use of bitcoin.
They would appreciate it once they use it, it's different from a traditional payment system, we have the most advance and the most transparent.
For users who loves to transact money online, they can be our potential users and if we can convince them, they will be part of the system and they will not only discover bitcoin but also altcoins since this space is so big that needs to be explored.

Bitcoin fake money?  NO.

People's perception about Bitcoin is changing and am happy to say that the upcoming generation are really aware of bitcoin and its value . I was on my laptop checking my crypto balances when my 10 year old son asked how many bitcoin I have and was taking to me about bitcoin and its future value. My son was encouraging me to invest in Bitcoin. It is so nice to know that the youth are aware of Bitcoin and are interested in it.

Nice to read, it is a good thing to educate people around you. The older generations are more skeptic toward crypto currencies around me but the young ones most of the time totally get the concept. Matter of time or the first graders will get it explained at school. ; )

I think more Bitcoin developers should create virtual gaming worlds and sell customised virtual items for these games.  Wink

Not a gamer but if this will happen, it would be a big step for improvement in the market.
Bitcoin payment only would force them to use bitcoin only and the demand will be enormous, we are just starting, it's not far from happening.

Bitcoin is not fake money....Only fake to those who don't understands it.

You dont need to be a gamer and play this bitcoin related games to be able to appreciate their worth because all of us here that uses a bitcoin did appreaciate this kind of idea because this can be another way to gain attraction which will also help the price to increase .  i support this idea and i support what kakmakr said that devs should start creating a game that bitcoin payments can be used because until now , bitcoin based games are not really get noticed

Some people will think about bitcoin is fake money because bitcoin doesn't have a real form and they cannot see how bitcoin looks like. They think that bitcoin cannot be used in real life and bitcoin doesn't have a value for them. But I am sure that there are people who will be like your nephew that could open their mind for something new like bitcoin.

Bitcoin still needs time to be accepted for them especially for people who don't want to follow the technology behind bitcoin. We don't have to confront them, but we need to explain that bitcoin is not the same as they thought. So as long as we can explain by smoothly to them, I think they will understand that bitcoin can be used for their real life and it's not just for online life.

Great how you were able to change your nephew's perspective about bitcoin being a 'fake money'. That would be the first thought that will cross people's minds though when talking about virtual things because they have more faith on what they can see or touch physically. By the way, how old is your nephew? I bet he's still young and it's good that at his age, he is already enlightened about the cryptocurrency.

I just hope that he can take the price drop whenever that happens because, as we all know, bitcoin's price can be quite frustrating when the line is striking downwards. But, I'm sure you'll guide him all the way through until he can do things on his own. With that said, I'm also certain that he would tell his friends about his "new" discovery and will slowly eliminate the stigma that bitcoin isn't real 'cause it is.

for all those who think bitcoin or consider bitcoin to be a fake money are not anywhere close to reality of the current financial disruption via technology. bitcoin is irrespective of the thoughts of certain individuals and institutions, it is real money and the earlier considerations on its technology starts the better.
well, there's no need to ignore people who think like that, because I don't think they have learned about bitcoin. however, bitcoin can be used as an alternative payment for now, and it can be said that bitcoin can be used as a medium of exchange because it has value. make money, or investment tools, it depends on those who use it.

Just let the children play their games and let us do our part for bitcoin

Your nephew is bright enough to understand the game and what this can bring him, spending $1000 from a child(if he is still a child since you don’t mention the age)is a big amount but knowing how enjoyable the game money cannot buy

But in regards to emailing the Gane creator then i will consider sending them also

I agree that people assume bitcoin has no value because it's not tangible, yet they have no problem regarding fiat currencies as having value even though they are now mostly digital. A currency does not have to have a paper asserting it is approved by a particular government. I think it's the assumption that a currency needs to be government backed that drives this belief.

That's a good point. Many people equate tangibilty with something having real financial value or not. Others think that something can only have value if its value is validated by the government. But the truth is none of these things determine the value of something. Only each person can decide if something has value, and how much value it has. And that's how everything is valued in the financial world.

The government validating the value of Bitcoin goes against the notion of why Bitcoin was invented in the first place: To have a type of money that the government can't tamper with its value with.

It's quite interesting that people keep on claiming that Bitcoin is somehow not real.

Exactly, if someone is willing to fork out $6 000 000 for a virtual planet in a game or $635,000 for a virtual club in the same game, then $5 000 for a bitcoin that can be used for global payments and retail are not a big ask.  Wink

Anyone want a virtual pet in Dota 2 for $38,000??? -

Many people think Bitcoin is fake money. But that's not the case. Bitcoin is never fake money, but Bitcoin is the most real money. I think Bitcoin is better than all the currency in the world. Because Bitcoin is peer to peer cryptocurrency. Bitcoin can never be fake money, many people are spreading rumors about Bitcoin as fake money. I will not listen to the rumor.

Thank you

Many people still keep saying about bitcoin is fake money and trying to make some time the same with bitcoin and have scam many investors, just wait when bitcoin raised to higher price you can give them the best value of bitcoin.
well, sometimes it's not surprising if some people do, because many scammers try to cheat ordinary people using bitcoin. because of that, I feel they need to learn bitcoin or altcoin even more before using it, or have it so they can use bitcoin
They won't know it's a real or fake currency, if they don't try it themselves. sometimes I say that to everyone who says that, just install the wallet on your cellphone, buy some bitcoin and shop with it! many stores will accept it. if they know the current bitcoin rate, of course they will not think that it is fake

It's true crypto is fake money in other words digital money, because we can't hold on like real money. But with crypto more and more people prefer investing with bitcoin than their real money deposited into the bank.

~snip~

For a Chipmixer poster.Im surprised that you dont even know on which board would fit out the post you have made.Im pretty sure that you do know that
this has nothing to do with gambling.

On topic where convincing other people about bitcoin wont really be that easy thats why it would depend on your reasoning and deliverance on how you do
describe or define bitcoin

Ok, to all the people moaning and bitching about my little mistake by posting in the wrong section, SORRRY!!!!! Geeeezzz….. People make mistakes FFS! >

In any way, let's get back to the topic of my thread. The point I am trying to make is that people convenietly forget about what money is, when they want to win a argument and we should point out that ANYTHING can have value if someone is willing to trade for it.  Wink

Sometimes i really get irritated the way some people trying so hard to act like they are perfect or just trying to display ITKs attitude for no reason,
You know almost all the posters in the first page are all trying to correct this mistake, making a mountain out of a small stone Roll Eyes
just because he is a Chipmixer poster does not necessarily exempt him from making a mistake, lol! I can't believe am hearing this Roll Eyes

Now back to your post, many people still have this view when it comes to digital currency, in my country, 99% still laugh at you when you mention btc or digital currency, until people start understanding what digital currency is all about, only then will they understand and accept the possibilities of btc and alts. Am glad your relative is seeing things differently.

I think it's a very cool game and will be played all over the world if the game developer accepts Bitcoin as an alternative payment to buy items in the game.
