Bitcoin has always had competition, all of those altcoins out there are it's competitors and many of them are competing against one another. The top 4-5 altcoins are sure competitors growing slowly in terms of market capitalization but are way off competing against the price of Bitcoin. Bitcoin does have a lot of leverage and potential as compared to other coins, but there's always a benefit of having many altcoins and stores accepting multiple crypto-currencies. This way there's more decentralized forms of payment and no single large monopolistic party can attempt to stop any of them all at once.
Bitcoin has not reached its market saturation. Once all of the cryptoinfrastructure is build there might be more space to alternative cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin is just leading the built of infrastructure, thats why its so much without a competition. If you have a choice of building the infrastucture from the scratch or connect to the existing one the choice is obvious.

bitcoin does not really compete with other investments. first of all it is very different then the other so it is not really something you can compare. secondly bitcoin is not a company or something like this. nobody is in change and nobody is directly profiting. like gold bitcoin does not mind what happens with itself. there are people that are mining and/or trading gold or bitcoin and there are competing, but not bitcoin itself.

You can't be so sure about that cause no one knows the future . Bitcoin also has its flaws also, there may be an invention that can surpass it or some altcoin right now might .
Yes When it comes from investment but in terms of price and the number of trades bitcoin can outpowered them .

Saying that bitcoin has no competition and It will remain number #1 for ever is something ridiculous to say If you ask me. I mean , I do agree that bitcoin is very solid but unless the development continues and we fix the current issues that It has now , It's not going anywhere . I may agree If you tell me Dogecoin & Litecoin are simple copies of BTC but nowadays , new Alts are coming to life and they are better then ever and that could bring some competition.
Yes, Bank will make his own crypto. The serious competitors for bitcoin will come soon. Like the early time of Zcash a lot of the people have said the end of bitcoin has come. A new alt with new innovation such being the threat of bitcoin also. Even the people was saying if the ALT was the copycats but totally it can be threatening for bitcoin.

I partially agree with you. Bitcoin seems to have no competition right now and people who said that bitcoin will fail in the coming years have been proved wrong. But in a really rare case if something does happen to bitcoin then I am sure another cryptocurrency will take over. For right now invest in Bitcoin and make profit 
It's great to think that bitcoin is having competition since most development team are coming up with ideas in which bitcoin could use or adapt sooner or later in the future for the betterment of the system. Also, even if other coins contains other functionalities that bitcoin lacks, still people would value bitcoin more than other alts because these alts are just improvised version of bitcoin, and bitcoin already has a solid-rock foundation and it's hard to compete tbh.
There are some currencies which are claiming that they are competing bitcoin and so are trying to take place of bitcoin and redirecting some people to their coin but they are at wrong as it is right that bitcoin do not have any competent and have no competition it will be the best forever.
today many altcoin who tries to become a competitor bitcoin. but when it happens, they are not able to last long. bitcoin will persist until later. no one is able dropping bitcoin market share.

it is its strength.
I don't think they are bitcoins strength, they may have given a demand to bitcoin but that is just in short time, because bitcoin invested on that altcoin will then be converted into fiat making it nullify the previous demand. The worst is that majority of this altcoin (not all) give bad names to cryptocurrency industry because of the developer who just created the coin to scam people. And it has a great effect on bitcoin. Other cryptocurrency even declares that their goal is to surpass bitcoin which kinda funny but have sense lol (kinda ambitious). So I don't see altcoins as bitcoins strength.
Yes, bitcoin's solidity can not be destroy by just any altcoins that is already in the market or will be just in the market. Bitcoin's impact to people is really hard that is why until now we appreciate and love bitcoin. No matter what happens in bitcoin, even if its price go down and up, still we are supporting and using it because we all know that bitcoin is the one worth waiting for. Maybe not now is the right time bitcoin will give something to us big but who knows maybe the next year on next bitcoin would make us all millionaires.
Most altcoins are worth barely anything. They are not even close to a threat for Bitcoin. Although I think that ethereum is slowly making its way up in the ladder, but it still has a long way to go if it ever wants to overtake Bitcoin. if you compare other cryptocurrencies to bitcoin, for now bitcoin is king. With that being said, how do you know what is going to happen in the future? Also, there is no need to hate on other cryptocurrencies, they are very useful for bitcoin, they support cryptocurrency altogether.
No doubt that other cryptocurrencies have the same benefits like Bitcoin, some even better. However, the original crypto is Bitcoin and it have only appeared on this planet for 8 years. 8 years is still a short time for peope to really its benefits. People still learn about it and they usually do not care about other cryptos. It is a big mistake. The lack of cryptocurrency knowledge will lead to the result that you can not fully understand about Bitcoin 
Since the rise of bitcoin no currency had any chance to compete with it , until recently we are seeing the rise of some of the altcoins , and this is due to a couple of reasons , one bitcoin's price has raised up and keeps on rising so trying to buy it is hard , tow bitcoin has become harder to mine so mining altcoin and exchanging them into bitcoin is the best alternative .
Your mining argument makes sense, but your price doesn't. Mining is now no longer for amateurs and it is best left to professional farms.
As far as the price is concerned, people shouldn't find it difficult to buy bitcoins, because bitcoin is divisible into infinitesimal parts. People should just buy satoshis if they can't buy bitcoins.
if you compare other cryptocurrencies to bitcoin, for now bitcoin is king. With that being said, how do you know what is going to happen in the future? Also, there is no need to hate on other cryptocurrencies, they are very useful for bitcoin, they support cryptocurrency altogether.

Yess you are right that bitcoin has no competition at all .there might be possible that some currencies might have value more than bitcoins but that would be a very short period of time .and here bitcoins if given a hard fork would increase to such a extend people would habe hard time believing it and every single person in this world woupd be possesing bitcoins or the other.

At the moment, most coins, in the cryptocurrency market, are a great disappointment. One of the reasons is that they do not bring significant changes with regard to Bitcoin, something that will actually make a difference for the user.
