Bitcoin is now global currency because we can spend it all over the world but not all stores accepting bitcoin yet in their mode of payment but i think in the future bitcoin would be much prefer currency to used in purchasing of our daily needs.
So you can say Bitcoin is global, since it can be used independent of the nation you live in or belong to. But can we say it is a currency? Because i doubt that. To be a currency you need to be able to pay with it and since Bitcoin is not everywhere accepted or at least not widely i would say it is not a currency yet.
If it is not accepted everywhere then it do not mean that bitcoin is not global as the problem in that is that these people do not know about bitcoin and whenever they come to learn about bitcoin they will accept it in their country so as it is used in many places as currency then it is a currency and is a global currency.

I can't understand why people here thinks that bitcoin isn't global currency but it will become in future.
Wallet is available for everyone, you don'y need bank account and no one controls your transactions, it's first cryptocurrency and most known and trustful, ICO's are mostly in bitcoin and mining datacenters are worldwidely, so how can't you to call it global currency?
The answer to your question is simple. Because hardly anyone is accepting Bitcoin. How can it be a currency if i am not able to pay my rent? How can it be a currency if i can not buy my bread with it?

I don't particularly disagree with your point

But, on the other hand, if you lived outside the US, could you pay with the US dollars your utility bills elsewhere directly (barring some small countries which use the dollar as their official currency)? I guess you can't, but could you thus consider dollars as not a global currency? If you can't either, was is global currency then? There are specific cases where you can pay with dollars, but basically the same can be said about Bitcoin as well. For example, how many online casinos use the US dollar (or any other fiat, for that matter) as a money token for gambling? I don't think that a lot, but I think that the volume gambled in Bitcoin online casinos by far exceeds the volume gambled in fiat ones (compared on the dollar basis, of course)

I think in 2020 bitcoin will be a global currency that every will know.

Now its still a big currency, but not global, it is knew by insider who see the potential
and after 10 years everyone will saying, why i dont see this and buy it earlier.

It is good to see how people looks forward to make bitcoin as an official fiat currency, we really wish on that to happen because of the great and big potential of it to the market. And we are fast growing community so it is good to see people who is having the idea of this.

yes there is no doubt about this.
I don't really think you can spend bitcoin as it is all over the world. Bitcoin can be transferred easily online so it is really very convenient for money transfers compared to using western union and the likes. But mostly these transfers are converted to the local currencies when they get to the recipients. So i think we can consider btc to be a global currency when at least a couple of major busineses and service providers accept them as a form of payment and transactional exchanges
maybe now we only condition bitcoin as a global currency. but, in fact bitcoin is only used on the internet, and is still very much a country that has not been used in practice. but bitcoin growing quickly, I'm sure in a few years bitcoin will begin to develop, accepted in all countries, and become a global currency.

yes there is no doubt about this that bitcon has now become a global currency, because you can found the users of bitcoin throughout the world. bitcoin users are present everywhere and are using bitcoin. although bitcoin can be use in all over the world through online but bit is yet accepted in some physical stores and the reason is that in most of the area people still do not know about bitcoin. how that in future the number of shops who will accept bitcoin will increase and then we will be able to use bitcoin even in our local shops.

Every new thing takes time to adjust and make place in our society. Bitcoins has been there for over eight years now and i feel in the next five years we shall see bitcoins everywhere around us. The Dollar and Euro are losing value and Bitcoin will soon be the next global currency around the world.

To support it needed adequate systems, to be used to buy daily needs, and then transfer bitcoin does not need confirmation of a long and costly. Another important factor is to be transparent, so that pay taxes every transaction.
I would rather not make it as Global currencies than we will have to pay taxes without assurance if it will be use for the benefit of the people. Bitcoin was created to do away with taxation, and if this will be tax, there would be a double taxation that will happen as when we use fiat to spend in real world, everything has tax.

There are some further aspects of this dream. In some of the countries, the things of daily needs are available to purchase at the price of bitcoin transaction fees so why he would use bitcoin for it? I think the mechanism for micropayments would be much comfortable in such cases that would bring bitcoin adoption on the root level.

I strongly disagree with your view. Bitcoin is a currency, not only because for this aim was created but because is really global without the need to convert it in local fiat currency everywhere someone travels. Besides that,  there are many merchants everywhere in the world where they don't accept the fiat money of a particular country. Under your rationale, that means this particular fiat is not currency? So, if merchants don't accept bitcoin is not it's fault but our fault because we do not demand from merchants to accept it. In addition if bitcoin is not money why there are  debit cards which can be funded with bitcoins and unloaded to fiat?
T can take my fiat and go to another country and will have no problems. Try this with Bitcoin. All i need to do is go to a Bank or an Exchange and trad my fiat. Try that with Bitcoin. What about a place with no Internet? Good luck with Bitcoin there. Are my frequent flyer miles a currency, because i can buy stuff with them and load it to a card i then can pay with. Are my chuck e cheese tokens a currency?

Arent we taking this too much to another level?
I guess we are still on the building part. Trust and convenience for others, if that could be proved more then it might be more popular now. Besides, that is the real purpose of bitcoin. Taking out the middleman to save money and making the transaction secure.
Why not just focus on that more rather than taking it way up just for selfish reasons because you own 1 bitcoin.

The network effects are still kicking in. Once we reach a threshold, then Bitcoin would become convenient for all and sundry.
Talking up Bitcoin is not a bad thing at all; there are enough people on the other side spreading FUD about Bitcoin.
