Bitcoins all the way

It's easier and safer but the receiver has to know how to work with bitcoins though, not everyone knows how bitcoins work

Well this is nice. But I already knew when I knew about BTC.

That is why I do my money to BTC and send my BTC to my family.

Western Union, you have to wait for it to process for hours or even a day or more, depending on person sending MTC numbers, and also the fees. The fee is less with BTC and an get it in a shorter time. If you have a bitcoin card that can be used in ATM's, so much better.

Yes if the receiver holds bitcoin debit card then we can assure for fast, easy and cheaper overseas money transfer through bitcoin. I wish to get my family a bitcoin debit card so that I can save big money in transmitting my salary across border.

honestly yeah because bitcoin fee is low than western union but the risky using bitcoin is the price can down when you send a money
Or the price get high when you receive the coins, so its fair enough. I prefer use bitcoin than western union now. Bitcoin simply to use.

At this point for normal people Western Union is better because they can speak with live person and in their mind this way is safer. Bitcoin is still complicated for older people. It is just matter of time that young people with Bitcoin experience will grow up and services like WU or MoneGram will have to give up.

Yes, you are pointing out that the lack of knowledge or understanding about bitcoin is the reason for many people still thinking that Western Union is better. We need to make our family and friends to understand bitcoin how it is better and cheaper for money transfers. It is the duty of every bitcoiner.

If you already have Bitcoin, then yes. If you need to buy them it depends where you live and how easy you can buy bitcoins, because if you don't live in major cities or don't have bank account you will probably end paying more fees and higher spread, than just sending through WU.

Bitcoin atm will have a fee very high ,did you tryed to withdraw any bitcoin at those atm as i remember the fee is a bit high or the rates of conversion is a lot under the value. Is hard to let one atm everywhere ,there will be need to stay at some safe place otherwise people will try to steal them.

If we compare bitcoin atm with western union then i think they are in the same level about the anonymity, both of them have your pic in their security cameras. But in generally bitcoin is better than WU

Western union has their stores to anyone enter and be able to send any ammount to any part of the world, what bitcoin need is the same thing some local stores to test if people will use it ,even knowing that bitcoin were made to us be able to control our money and do anything we wanna.

This will take some time but eventually when bitcoin gets adopted globally you wouldn't need stores like that because you wouldn't need to convert your bitcoins to fiat to use them, there would be stores locally who would accept bitcoins and when that happens you'd start to use BTC as fiat and save even more on conversion fees which is what you pay when you convert BTC to fiat or vice versa.

All true, but needs some info about what's happening right now.

Sending:
If you already have bitcoin, you can use remittance sites to send bitcoin on the net almost free.
If you don't have bitcoin, you can get them by bank transfer to exchange sites, or (easier) get them from localbitcoins or mycelium traders (probably at a 5% premium over the exchange rate). These traders are all over the philippines, for example.

Receiving:
In many countries, sites like rebit.ph and coins.ph allow the sender to deposit directly for you (or you can use them by yourself to convert bitcoin to fiat for you to collect). Fiat is then obtained at the usual cash outlets (the ones that western union mostly uses in fact - not western union stores btw) at something like a 5% fee. Some of these sites even send the fiat to your door by courier (dunno what the fee is for that).

Many of these sites allow you to use bitcoin to top up your phone, pay bills etc, so there's really no need to cash your bitcoin except in emergencies.

In none of those cases does bitcoin need a brick and mortar presence.

Because when you have to deal with fiat everything goes to shit. The way to go is to deal with Bitcoins only, or alt to alt transactions if anything. That's how you benefit from Bitcoin. Bitcoin will always diminish in quality of experience when you have to convert them to fiat.

If the fees are high in these atms then i don't find those useful, better maybe is buying a bitcoin debit card and use it everywhere with the same fees.

For that we need to have a lot Bitcoin ATM's in a lot stores around the world. That makes it easy for people to cash out their Bitcoins and receive fiat in return. That's how you make Western Union useless.
